Book- That Was Then, This Is Now by S.E. Hinton. Again, I loved it that book until the ended. It made me so sad I can't even remember what happened. Frankly, I don't feeling like remembering it, it must have been pretty disappointing if I forgot it.
Show- Hm, Im not sure. But Doctor Who makes me pretty sad sometimes.
Anime- I don't watch much anymore, but some of the kids in the original series of Naruto have some serious issues.
Game- ...eh. I got nothing.

EDIT:

I remember another depressing movie now. Brazil, I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned as it was a pretty dark film. It was funny and brilliant but had a really depressing ending.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. The book more-so than the film.
The Great Gatsby.
Red Dead Redemption is an utter tragedy in my opinion, the ending, that is.
The final episode of Blackadder goes Forth.

That's all I can really think of. I'm a sucker for sad endings.

I'm going to have to say it's a tie between Taegukgi (Brotherhood of War) and The Road in the movie depratment. As far as books go, Catcher in the Rye was... well, not erally depressive but it made me apathetic for a while.

The television film 'Threads', about the short and long term effects of what would happen if a nuclear bomb was dropped on England.

That film was depressing just because it was so bad. I paid about £6 to see that in the cinemas.

I mean, what was the point of it other than for Gus Van Sant trying to squeeze money out of making controversy.

I found the movie The Bad Sleep Well to be very depressing especially when half of the time you're not sure if the protagonist is the 'good guy'. I agree with Grave of Fireflies and Dancer in the Dark.

Grave of the Fireflies
Elephant
Requiem for a Dream
The Road
Martyrs
BenX
Arguably, Jacobs Ladder
Martyrs the french movie? That was more disturbing than depressing.

If you mean sad: (And I'm sure this has already been said) Clannad and Clannad after story. No contest. (That said; I haven't seen Air or Canon(Kanon?) yet, so I wouldn't know if those are sadder, but I don't think they are)

If you mean something that will make you depressed: Uuuhm... I guess when Deathnote turns crappy that's pretty depressing. Not enough to really make me depressed though.

Why? Why, after waiting a proper long time to see if my post will appear, and then posting it again, does my post appear only after posting it twice?

Please ignore this double post.

Any movie about or around the time of slavery. Oh man they are all real downers and most of them make you feel like hating white people.

The Great Gatsby.
Wait... The book or the movie(Is there one?) Because I really can't find anything depressing about the book at all.
I mean; people die and stuff, but I never cared about any of those characters in the first place

The real point? Gus Van Sant LOVES him some late-80s, European, impressionist films, including an even worse (and arguably more depressing) one made in the 1980s by the English director Alan Clarke...which was also called "Elephant."

Blackadder goes Fourth almost had me. The ending is so well done, and, despite laughing and joking about the war, it shows how terrible it really was.
The Descent's ending was quite bleak, but wasn't upsetting. Saving Private Ryan is also very depressing. I haven't seen very many depressing films...

Bridge to Terribithia. You grow with these characters and really begin to care about them. Then...well you know. And no matter what the hights, you are still consciencsly trying to hold back tears. This movie was depressing for somebody who rarely cries.

(Think Labrynth meets My Girl)
