I live in Jersey, nothing here really. Rather live in Delaware, cause at least they don't have sales tax.
I've lived here my whole short life and pretty much everyone I know that lives here hates it (including me). It just isn't fun. There's trees everywhere, people drive like they can spare getting a car totaled and our educational funding just took a noise dive.FalloutJack said:So far as I know, even the people who live in New Jersey hate New Jersey.
Most of the people on that show are from Staten IslandBlindswordmaster said:At what point did it become acceptable to be from New Jersey? Wasn't it always one of 'those' states? Isn't New Jersey for the North like Kentucky is for the South?
-note: I'm not mocking everyone from New Jersey, but I'm making fun of the show and the culture following it.

It's not nor ever will be cool.
your a new yorker tooDango said:It never did, it's still especially hated by a majority of us New Yorkers.
In the South, we see Kentucky as the amalgamation of all of the worst qualities of the South. Here, we're of the feeling: Shit, I may be from the South, but I'm not from Kentucky!" My old roommate was from Kentucky. His uncle brewed moonshine in his bathtub. This is not an uncommon practice in that part of the state. I'm merely wondering if there is a fair comparison. Also, I don't have anything against Kentucky or people from there, I merely acknowledge that it's...different there.NotSoNimble said:If the OP wants to talk about fake t.v. then fine.
If the OP has a hate filled bundle of shame against Kentucky or New Jersey, fine.
But when you compare New Jersey to Kentucky, you are way the fuck out of line in my book.
LOL! Just kidding.
I have never heard of, nor do I understand, what you mean by a comparison on this one.
Cool people exist in every city.
It's a fact.
There are also a lot of states that you never hear about ever just because they're so painfully boring. When was the last time you even heard about North Dakota? NJ isn't particularly different from the rest of the Midatlantic region other than the whole gas pumping deal.Kortney said:It's a state. Like any other place, there is good people and bad people. Nice areas and bad areas.
Most people here are generalising New Jersey. Just because it's slightly infamous doesn't mean the whole place sucks.
Everyone in the NYC Metro Area is rude. The area thrives on a culture of suspicion and vigilance. When I visit other places I find the trust other people have in strangers highly discomforting.RooftopAssassin said:I don't know, but the next time I hear someone babbling on about Jersey Shore, I am going to promptly punch them in the face. I can't really say anything about people from Jersey, but according to New Yorkers they're real douchebeagsbags.
Agreed.Blindswordmaster said:In the South, we see Kentucky as the amalgamation of all of the worst qualities of the South.
