emo's are hated because even though they live in the western world with all the privileges and oppurtunities of the world before them they would rather highlight their own trivial and hypocritical faults that they percieve to be important.
everyone is emotional and every one can show it in the extreme but only one type of person seems to need to draw attention to their own inadequacies so they can indulgence in the pity it brings them
im sorry but if your going to winge about your life you must first accept that others are suffering to and offer them your support before demanding/expecting theirs

if we dont believe it emo's they wont exist

I don't hate emos. I just can't stand it when people get whiney, and fail to take action at perceived injustices/or whatever they're crying about. In my experience, crying only made things worse, so I can't sympathize with people who expect crying to help anyone. Guess I'm just apathetic.

A thought just struck me, why do most of us hate emos? They may be down and depressed. But why do we hate those who choose to wear black and dispise the conformus. They are probably the most hated social group, but are they so much worse than us others? I personally don't find them that irritating there are plenty of other people who are way worse...
I don't think of them as being the worst at all, and to be frank, their style I have no problem with. Its when they start speaking what they think the 'truth' is about life and everything, which I guess I hate because its really just a show of immaturity and ignorance. How do I know? Been there, done that. (With less style and more angst (actually angst levels were probably about the same))

From the chorus:

Cos many are attention whoring and cast a negative light on serious issues (aka self harm etc) by being associated with them and making it thus difficult to be taken seriously.

Opinions about the style of clothing and music excluded for irrelevance.

Just sad how young people throwing away their life and dont have a clue yet about anything, joy, succsess, real problems - its so ridiculous that I see them all in 5 years laughing at themselves and hating it, cause they threw the years away in life where they had the least problems... OMG:.. pathetic ;)

(oh.. and they look ridiculous - AHAHAHAHAHAHA I personally think, EMO-Style was invented by some child-lovin-fag.. ;) )

let us be clear that a teenagers are more or less rebels by the time they 16 but Emos take it too far. What's with the fixation to black, what's with the music etc.

Some of my best friends are emo.
Not the cut-up-your-arm emo, the real emo.
They're cool.

So, my only answer is... well, we have to pick on someone!
Why not the ones that are already emotional?
I always thaught the cut-up-your-arm thing is a sign of being a real emo, while the ones that just dress up that way are the fakers.
Still, I don't have any emo friends so I wouldn't know.

OK, the thought just struck me also and this is for all on this thread...

im sick of the stereo types. I'm an "Emo" if you look at my lifestyle and behaviour but you'd not think it. Why? Because i dont always wear black. I also dont go around acting depressed and miserable every 5mins. These are just stereo types, and technically EMO isnt even something that exists. Its a WORD. People hate us because they think we'll spoil their mood when actually its probably THEM putting us in a mood with their lies, hate and back stabbing.

I wouldnt even normally put myself in the whole "goth, Emo, Chav etc" ring but thanks to the stereo types i go with Emo. Has anyone also forgotten the stereo type that Emo's self harm?? Well that depends on the person. I suffer from depression, i love wearing black or extremely dark clothing, and yes i do self harm. But that doesnt mean you'd see it, because when im out with my "friends" i make a point of being OK just to stop me killing the mood.

I think emoish looking girls are hot. No argument about being emo as a waste of time though.

I sat next to an emo guy in my science class. He had cuts up and down his arms in a hexagonal pattern. It was pretty twisted. He said he was emo, but it just seemed to me he was a whiny little *****.

Is should probably answer the question

Answer: They are the new Jew, and society are Nazis

I hate them for several reasons. First off, they are, as a lot of people mentioned, attention-seeking brats. They wear their "non-conformist"-uniforms (see what I did there?) to appear edgy and special, but their lifestyle is just as pathetic as everybody else's. True goths, black metallers and other such persons I can respect - not only does they at least have the balls to act and think independently from society, they also don't care for shit if the rest of the world is aware that they're "special" or not - the emo does, hence the whining.

Also, the large amount of attention the emos have got - negative attention, mostly, but any attention is good attention to them, I suppose - have made most people equal whiny angst with true misantrophy. I'm not particularily misantrophic myself, but I enjoy DSBM (depressive suicidal black metal) and funeral doom metal which are both very negative, anti-human and misantrophic genres of music and most people associate it with emoness on the first glance - and I don't want to have decent music connected to such brats.

Because emo was once a decent genre of music when Weezer's Pinkerton album came out, but then it was jumped upon by vapid, attention-seeking teenagers who wear stupid clothes and have punchable faces, and who like to express their individuality in large groups of like-minded people.

I don't hate anyone for being down and depressed, but that is usually the last thing emos are nowadays. Those people are usually nice. The people who "choose to wear black and dispise the conformus" are usually attention-seeking loudmouths, at least in my experience. I don't hate them, but they are certainly very annoying. Chavs are a much more hated social group in my book.
weezer aint emo,

wtf is a chav?
They definitely were emo when that album came out, and their debut album was probably the album that popularised that kind of melodic emo music. They don't have the same sound anymore, though, but they were back then. Then emo music got bastardised by fashionable scene kids and changed into what is essentially really whiny kids yelping and trying unsuccessfully to sound as tenth as good as Green Day.

Because they whine for attention. They say they will kill themselves, but never do it. Fake goths. Bad music. Never happy.

Many, many reasons.

They are by far not the 'most hated social group'. Believe me there's plenty worse than the baby goths.

I suppose most people just find Emo shtick excruciatingly annoying. The stubborn determination to repeat the words 'nobody understands' can drive off any rational person in seconds.

I don't hate people who dress "Emo". It's just another label tagged a style with. I resent people who ***** needlessly about how life is so dark and cruel because they are blind to the good things they've had in life.

I've lost alot of friends to suicide, and I've tried helping most of them throuth their issues. These are people with real issues, not "Daddy won't let me borrow the car this weekend, lets seee if people will love me more if I cut myself and talk about how dark life is"

Because everyone has things in their lives they're unhappy about, but the rest of the world gets on with it and keeps on living. Emos just need to cut a little deeper or suck it up and get on with their lives.
