Why are there suddenly so many My Little Pony Avatars?

The show was created by Lauren Faust (Creator of Powerpuff Girls and co-creator of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends). It doesn't get any more amazing than that.

I have to admit, those production qualities are top notch, blows the original, rather vapid, series completely out of the water.

Honestly, I think it's partway deliberate on behalf of the developers. When it comes to selling cartoons, they'll push as many brain buttons as they can.

There's also a certain question of technical difficulty involved - exactly where is the dividing line between making a character appealingly feminine - in order to attract an intended audience of young boys and girls who would want to hang out with such role models - versus making it sexually attractive? I think there's some overlap there.

That said, I think the plot and characterization redeems it somewhat. It's definitely not porn.

I think this had something to do with it.

It's a good show, it's made by the same director who did Powerpuff Girls and Foster's imaginary didn't watch so I don't know the full title. It's fun, even for guys despite there being practically only one male character who has lines. Ever watch Powerpuff Girls?

Not at all.

I requested the ban due to the fact that I was spending far too much time on the Escapist, and it was causing me severe amounts of stress as well as breaking my focus from my University classes. Now that I have things a bit more stable, I feel that I can continue chatting with the fine members of the Escapist.

I felt the break of a couple months or so was enough to allow me to realize what is truly important in life.

A strange trend I been noticing is a large amount of Avatar's from the New My Little Pony series. All I know about the new series is that the animation looks like the animation from "Panty and Stocking" (view that information however you wish). I heard at least one "the show is surprisingly good" and some of the avatar's I have seen are being used ironically (got a chuckle out of who ever had the "Resistance is Futile" avatar) but most of them are used pretty much with a straight face. I have not watched the show (nor do I even know what channel or when it on) so it might have a good deal of hidden adult humor ala Animaniacs, but the target audience of my little pony's has always been the complete opposite then the general people that come to the escapist.

So, those that have the avatars, can you explain to me why you have chosen it, and to those that have not can you provide speculation?

Gonna watch it when I have time.

Mostly because the main character looks like Stocking XD

Good on you. Sometimes it's good to take breaks from things we love, thereby when we return it is a refreshing and fun experience once more. After being away from the Escapist for a fair bit, I appreciate the time I spend here more.

Hence, I develop friendships with users such as yourself. In a sense, I feel that my time away from the Escapist allowed me to "take a breather" and give myself some room.

Over half of the image sources that come up are from the Escapist, specifically my Digimon RP.[/small][/small][/small][/small][/small][/small][/small][/small][/small]

Unfortunately, I myself don't like it, do to a combo of "OMG TOO CUTE!!" and "(Sarcasm)Really? A Civil war between siblings? That hasn't been used before...(/sarcasm)".

Cuteness isn't used as an excuse for sloppy writing as Lauren would rather headbutt a brick wall, and everything after the two-part premiere is discarded IMMEDIATELY afterward because The Hub wants to air the episodes in any order they wish (no serial episodes for you!), leaving us with a non-episodic series with simple yet effective humor and likable characters.

I remember how I used to judge things before I gave them a chance. I don't do that anymore after being wrong about my initial impressions dozens of times.
