Foster's was McCracken's black sheep in my opinion and the Powerpuff Girls I wouldn't exactly call girly. This, however, has always had a specific demographic in mind.UnmotivatedSlacker said:Because it's good and it kicks the shit out of Captain Planet. Seriously, if you enjoyed the Powerpuff Girls or Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, you'll probably like this show too.Mordwyl said:It's an affront to my manliness. Why would I watch it?
Where's Captain Planet?
Mate if watching this rather clever and in my view rather humorous and ultimately harmless cartoon is enough to drive you suicide, then I suggest help from a trained professional.William Ossiss said:but can you be held responsible when i hang myself from watching such dribble? i do not "d'aww". i stab fluffy shit in the head and smile with glee. all of you escapists need to go read "johnny the homicidal maniac". that's REAL entertainment.Sleekgiant said:I can not be held responsible for any addictions to ponies or the sudden urge to go dawwwwww.theultimateend said:That intro was about 900 times better than Dragon Age I.
I fear I might be watching this show soon...damn you Sleekgiant...damn you to Equestria.
It's a new meme. Everyone on the internet is pretending to be into the show for ironic reasons. Not G. Ivingname said:A strange trend I been noticing is a large amount of Avatar's from the New My Little Pony series. All I know about the new series is that the animation looks like the animation from "Panty and Stocking" (view that information however you wish). I heard at least one "the show is surprisingly good" and some of the avatar's I have seen are being used ironically (got a chuckle out of who ever had the "Resistance is Futile" avatar) but most of them are used pretty much with a straight face. I have not watched the show (nor do I even know what channel or when it on) so it might have a good deal of hidden adult humor ala Animaniacs, but the target audience of my little pony's has always been the complete opposite then the general people that come to the escapist.
So, those that have the avatars, can you explain to me why you have chosen it, and to those that have not can you provide speculation?
Incorrect, I'm a 20 year old male and I absolutely love the show, I have many friends who legitimately enjoy it just as much.oppp7 said:It's a new meme. Everyone on the internet is pretending to be into the show for ironic reasons.
i was merely commenting on how the lore phrasing they used was over used to the point that it IS suicide inducing. (for the record, suicide is THE most selfish act on the planet and it was only used through sarcasm to explain my feelings of the moronic titles they used). i meab, come on dude. "the stones of harmony". and again, i reiterate my previous statement. lets stab all the fluffy shit in the head and smile with glee.Gordon_4 said:Mate if watching this rather clever and in my view rather humorous and ultimately harmless cartoon is enough to drive you suicide, then I suggest help from a trained professional.William Ossiss said:but can you be held responsible when i hang myself from watching such dribble? i do not "d'aww". i stab fluffy shit in the head and smile with glee. all of you escapists need to go read "johnny the homicidal maniac". that's REAL entertainment.Sleekgiant said:I can not be held responsible for any addictions to ponies or the sudden urge to go dawwwwww.theultimateend said:That intro was about 900 times better than Dragon Age I.

I thought Johnny the Homicidal Maniac was overblown and shite. Real entertainment, if there is such a thing, is watching what you enjoy for your own pleasure. You don't like it; fine, suits me, but if you'll pardon the pun, get off your high horse.
Because the meme people said so. [http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/my-little-pony-friendship-is-magic] And yes, a good number of people like the show itself but for the most part I thought it was sarcasm.Zohrra said:Incorrect, I'm a 20 year old male and I absolutely love the show, I have many friends who legitimately enjoy it just as much.oppp7 said:It's a new meme. Also could someone please explain how it's a meme yet every other fandom ever is not? I am unable to understand this logic.

To be honest I had the same view on it, now I'm more active on ponychan than any other site.oppp7 said:Because the meme people said so. I don't care if My Little Pony was originally aimed at girls and neither should you. It's a good show that's pretty well written and funny. Lauren Faust said herself that she created show with the intent to make it enjoyable for kids and adults. I don't see why the fact that I have a penis should mean I shouldn't be able to enjoy it. Just watch an episode or two and see if you like. If you do, great and if you don't, that's fine too. Just don't keep yourself from doing something just because it's considered "girly." You can end up missing out on something you'd genuinely like.Mordwyl said:Foster's was McCracken's black sheep in my opinion and the Powerpuff Girls I wouldn't exactly call girly. I do hope you know which that is.
