Why do gamers (people on this website) generally dislike sports?

Also there is not much common currency with sports on this forum due to the geographical diversity on here. The big sports in Australia are Cricket, Aussie Rules, Rugby League, and Rugby Union. In the USA it's Baseball, American Football, Ice Hockey, Basketball. UK is pretty much all about football (that's soccer to the Yanks and Aussies). A lot of us have no idea what the others are talking about.
Not just football, we're big on both Rugby codes here in the UK too, although it mostly depends on where you are from.

Well I don`t watch sports and don`t really care about sports games. Also I find talking about sports boring, but even so I do love doing sports and I have ~2h long handball practice every day.

Can`t really say why others don`t answer to those posts.

Save £30-40 by not paying for a game? That doesn't really make any sense coming from a computer game fan, and being one I know. I'm a few years behind on most computer games because I wait for them to come down in price. That, and watching/listening to a match on tv or radio doesn't cost anything at all.

(Also, rugby league match tickets cost less than £20, because they have reasonable wages and prices and stuff).

I like sports, but i dont understand why they need to spam the TV with soccer matches like South Africa vs Germany when i live in Denmark.. I mean seriously... What the fuck... And it usually replaces great shows like The Simpsons or whatever..

I wouldn't say I dislike sports. If I'm with friends or a relaxed social group I'll play them, but with strangers (Or a P.E class) I hate doing it. Also, I like watching sports, Rugby in particular is exciting.

This is what I dislike about sports in general. The games are usually boring as hell or only good for a rental, watching it is almost always a drag except for Basketball and Slamball and doing it yourself is usually a lot of fun, except for endurance sports like running and whatnot.

I love playing video games, always have, always will. However, I also love watching and playing sports that little bit more, especially football and rugby.

I'll watch some sports on occasion but I really don't know much about them, so, it is difficult to respond to a thread.

Sports are 99% of the reason I hated Middle School, PE did nothing but alienate me as I could not catch the ball, not even once and my teammates always hated me. Its not that I'm out of shape, I can run and I'm not too overweight its that I have the world's worst hand-eye coordination and relexes. For the most part because I have ADD, I have trouble paying attention to sports on TV or in a game but I have been watching the Olympics, its slightly more exciting when it keeps changing sports after every commercial break.

Because i'm fat and lazy.... haha, just messing. I play squash, and have no problem with sports except footballers, who are generally just overpaid dick heads.

For me at least it's simply a matter of seeing the futility of watching other people achieving what you could not. It's like watching somebody else play my videogames for me, but really well.
