Why do PC gamers get so much hate

What are these "ways" that we are stuck in?

I think they mean by the uproar when they didn't get dedicated servers and blizzard not using LAN(i think it was LAN) for Starcraft 2.

I would be a PC gamer but I can't afford it, you can't say at christmas, oh I want to build a gaming PC you will need to get me this part that part etc.

So that's why I have a 360, alot of my friends play on the 360 and it's loads of fun, I do admit meeting new people online like I did on WoW is a load of fun but I prefer it with my IRL friends

Those are good, sensible features that have been around for so long because they work and because people like them. Activision just doesn't give a shit about its customers and will do anything to squeeze more profit out of them. But once again this is something that consoletards will just gladly accept, because they think corporations are their best friends and because a subservient sheep mentality is all they are capable of.

I just think that most people on console don't mind the way the servers were done on MW2, and I myself don't mind either, sure dedicated servers may be good but the way i've seen my friend act with his servers i'm not to keen on them.

because of console fanboyism. they attack the PC because they either

A. envy the PC. (modding, etc)
B. think their way is the best way. ( IE good old tribal hostility to other tribes who dont think like them.)
C.trolls (they anger ppl for fun)
D. misinformed about the PC gamers and believe what those idiots at x-play/etc tell them to believe.
E. mistake the PC for a console with shiny bells and whistles. (its NOT a console, its a computer. PCs and consoles are not the same. they CANNOT RUN ON THE SAME SYSTEM of multiplayer, control, etc. stop expecting the PC to conform to your ways thinking it will be a good transition because it wont and it will end badly.)

I have no idea if your joking or not, but this is the reason people hate on the PC people, they are arrogant and think they are a god send.

I don't understand why all the hate is about, a gaming console is a gaming console, it's all about what people can afford, what they prefer and what is easy for them which is where the general stereotypes come from.

That was my point, you were making a generalised statement which I hear quite a lot from PC gamers, I just thought I might stoke the fire a little by giving the general feeling that people have, you can treat me like a 5 year old if it makes you happy, I'm not really that bothered seeing as I'm not one and the fact I would have to agree with you that there are a stupid amount of squeaky high pitched voice children around at the moment, mainly MW2.

In my opinion, it's actually that every console hates other consoles, and all consoles hate Pc gamers. So the majority hates PC gamers.

That and my encounters with PC gamers is that they are abusive, they get most of their games free, and they are closed-minded looking down on console gamers like kiddies.

If there are PC gamers which are not considered as the above statement, feel free to change my mind. I don't want my mind being tarnished by egoistic elitists.

That's not so much 'being stuck in our ways' as it is refusing to have a superior system kicked out and a new crappy one implemented.

I'll never understand why console gamers just accept P2P match making and all the other crap. From my point of view they should be trying to get their end of things improved instead of just feeeling smug when the PC gaming gets dragged down. I would have supported improving consoles but after the reaction of the colsole people with MW2 I'm kinda in favour of leaving them with their gimped systems. Meanwhile I'll just be over here playing Shattered Horizon.

The biggest different in my mind between pc and console gamers are the pc gamers general refusal to settle for a worse solution if something genuinely better is around. In fact if someone could tell me why console gamers do that I would be happy?

As it stands console games are dragging the pc down to a lowest common denominator. Oh, and yes, I guess I'm an elitist. I don't play very much on my PS3 as I find it annoying and severely limited in use. There is not even a file browser...

We have mods which is an absolutely grand thing. If they take away mods and dedicated servers... well we might just as well play on consoles. If there is no way to mod the game and create UGC. Well many years of content is taken out of the game and it's not worth the money anymore. I say we are (mostly) a bunch who won't pay for lack of content. MW2 lacks content, hence it's not worth the money.

You're personal definition of a word is not the definition for everyone. As I showed in the previous post, some people believe that all console gamers are console-tards and as a console owner that would include yourself. I was trying to say that as the term is used to describe all console players you can't justify it as a description of certain individuals. You're personal use of the term doesn't change shit, to be honest. Actually, I'm reminded of a recent South park episodes in which Fag is changed to mean someone that drives a Harley. Anyway, as long as it appears that someone is going to call all consoles gamers retards it stands to reason that they are considered elitist.

Dedicated servers are rare on consoles, if they exist at all. They're certainly not a standard feature that console gamers have come to expect. A command console doesn't exist in any console game to my knowledge, and console games also aren't exactly famous for their modding capabilities.

For the millionth, billionth fucking time (why does this have to be repeated ad infinitum?): the features IW went out of its way to remove are standard on the PC and existed in the previous game, and there is no reason whatsoever why the PC version should be gimped just because the console versions don't have and can't have certain features. Iw removed those features so they can extract money from the PC players by locking down custom content and taking full control over the multiplayer. That may be the console way, but it's not the PC way. PC gamers do not want their games lowered down to console standards.

Rainbow Six Vegas and it's sequel actually does have dedicated servers but that isn't important. In fact, you're actually proving my argument a little bit. IW offers a sub-par console port experience and PC gamers get justifiably insulted. An community who believes that they deserve something better than what a lot of other people get are quite elitist in my opinion.

And why is it a positive thing that console gamers accept anything the industry does without complaint? Being an obedient consumer whore is not a sign of intelligence.

Again, Valve's fanbase consists mostly of PC gamers, and PC gamers are more willing to make noise if they don't like something.

Bad ports often take up a lot of this

PC gamers often get rightfully angry about poor or late PC ports, in particular GTA IV and Saints Row 2 in recent memory. The lack of a port also gets mention, Gears of War II got a little bit of this. Anyway; the anger that many PC gamers have over these ports is further evidence of elitism in the community. I would have thought that you would try to argue against this. I have no problem of individually selecting each argument but leaving some of my arguments out is poor form.

LAN: Local Area Network

It's when you bring your friends to you appartment with their PCs and you all sitt down to kick each others asses on Unreal Tournament or Starcraft. There is nothing more epic then watching your friends face when your rocket is comming towards him and the screen lights him up and he screams in anger Or when you Zerg rush him and his frustration knows no limits. Aaah good times good times. But that kind of thing will be greatly missed in Starcraft 2 :/
