Why do so many people hate Naruto?

Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece are all the same. I don't know why people insist one is better than the other. One Piece doesn't bog the viewer down with psychotic depression, though.

People hate it because of the obvious pacing issues the anime has. The anime is really bad in my opinion.

The manga on the other hand is quite good. I like it :).

Actually, no.

Bleach has been on the same arc for ~2 years now, same as Naruto.

As described above, there's been a MAJOR shift in the One Piece world that no one saw coming. Actually, not one but two.

With Bleach, I was expecting a lot more from it in the beginning. I thought it would be a Yu Yu Hakusho from how it started, rather than a slower paced DBZ.

Naruto - Chuunin exam killed it.

One Piece - I stuck with it because the powers were diverse and believable to me. The characters still have a personality, and the good guys actually lose some of the time as they progressed further.

Then again, that's how I view them.

For me, the first season was really good. It was emotionally deep, had good characterization, epic fights, and a compelling villain. After that, everything fell apart because...

1. Bad Writing The new main villain becomes uncompelling and doesn't even have an encounter with the main characters, aside from a cliche thing where Sasuke gets 'infected' with darkness.
While I can agree that most of the points you're making are making perfect sense, and I can clearly accept them as a reason not to watch this. I'm not quite getting your references to the villains.

Who was the compelling villain, and who is the new villain? If you can remember the names, please let me know, because there have been more than two main bad guys where I'm at and I don't know how far you're in or who you're refering to.
The compelling villain is Zanbuza (sp?), tough rogue ninja wielding a large sword and has a boy that resembles a woman as a sidekick. I found him surprisingly deep and well characterized. The story line surrounding him has a nice twist that ends on a very satisfying note.

Later, a new central villain is introduced with a snake motif, being pale with silky black hair. I forget his name, but he's very generically evil and doesn't directly interact with the main characters aside from "infecting" the anti-hero in a cliche way. Many later villains fall into this generic evilness, which heavily contrasts to the depth Zanbuza had.

There is one well written villain called Gaara of the sands, a creepy boy who can manipulate sand. Unfortunately, he turns out to be wasted potential, making no direct involvement to the plot until he finally fights Naruto in a "climatic" battle.

Apparently we live in a world where we have to listen to the dubbing. Just do subs!

Anyway, I love Naruto. End of story

Because there's MUCH better anime out there that people could be watching? Because Narutards exemplify every negative stereotype about fans of Japanese culture not from Japan? How about because yes, the show is all filler...and thus refers back to stereotypes previously referenced?
This man pretty much answered the question.

I like the series, and the dub has improved massively. Though the current manga is... oy.

The FANS are why I hate it. Naruto itself is mediocre, but the FANS treat it like some sort of God-send that everything else, even things that came before it, must be held up to. There are people who think that there are spells to make Naruto real, there are people who think Looney Toons are horrible because the characters do not have powers like the characters from Naruto, and they wear those EMBARRASSING head-bands everywhere. I would now, one of my friends is a Narutard. His first thought whenever a ninja is brought up is Naruto.

NARUTO IS A CANCER. It makes me ashamed to be in the same age bracket as the target audience.
I play in Naruto CCG tournaments, and I wear my sound headband with pride. I'm 23, btw.
I... hate you. I just... hate you. No more, no less.

BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT FUCKING NINJAS!!!! For the love of god, he wears bright orange! Nothing they do is stealthy! In fact, I'm pretty sure everything they do involves something going boom! A shuriken, a kunai, and calling magic spells Jutsu does not make you a ninja! It makes you a really fast mage! It's the same reason I hate Twilight, if they had called the vampires ANYTHING else I wouldn't have a problem, it'd just be a super teen-drama, but they had to drag vampires and werewolves into this! Naruto's ruined public opinion of ninjas and should burn for it!

Although Ichigo Vs Byakuya is still ranked amongst my fave anime fights.
That episode was epic. Naruto Vs Sasuke as well.
Watching Bleach right now? Current fight is really well animated and conveys intensity better than most.

I don't hate it, but God the fans. I just love taunting my year's resident Naruto fanboy by randomly just saying to him "Ninjas don't wear orange!". His response? "Your mum doesn't wear orange." I shit you not.

I could never get into it really, it's just too long, and I didn't find the characters engaging enough to keep my attention. I used to like Bleach, but that seems to go on for ages with no real end in sight as well. For me, Death Note came along and it told a very good story and it had only 12 manga novels (13 if you include the how to read) and in my opinion, it had a better story.

I agree with you...Naruto got so boring! After the Chunnin exams it lost my interest fast. It started out as a decent show but then Sasuke turned evil and the show became all about trying to get him back. Naruto became very whiny, as if his only purpose in life was get back Sasuke. While Sakura stayed completely utterly and useless.

Because it has vocal extremists who will die for their Shipping.

I enjoy Naruto, but it isn't the best thing ever, but if you say that to some people they will attack you (Verbally).

I'd rather go around screaming "MACC-oo-ROSSS!, MACCC-oooo-ROSSSSS!" In a really over hyped japanese accent, but that's just me.
