It's not fair that this thread lasts while other good non-trolling threads get closed. I take offense?

Unfortunately, we'll never get to find out. Gore's (wisely, I think) said he won't run for President again, cuz it'd fuck up his rep if he lost a second time.

The fact is, Bush could have been better prepared for what happened if he read ONE memo, and acted accordingly. One with a pretty alarming name at that. That ALONE could have changed a good deal.
You do relise that the goverment, quite coincidently, were running simulation of the 9/11 events on the day it happens (So you can't say they did nothing to prevent it, it just happened too soon)

True, many presidents have had to make unpopular decisions, but at least their decisions helped the country in the long run.
Quearry: How do you know his decisions won't help the country in the long run if the long run hasn't happened yet? Or how do you define "the long run".

Right... So your telling me that you would prefer the world liar over Bush?
Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize. I think that's much more deserving then an idiot that cannot open a door :S

And let's not forget his other rewards: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Gore_awards_and_honors

FFS He got that peace prize for a documentry... HE DOES NOT DESERVE THAT PRIZE.
Plus he doesn't practise what he preaches, he also supported the Kyoto treaty, which is pure bull shit. Carbon Dioxide is NOT a greenhouse gas. It is plant food.

PS this topic is about Bush not Gore.

It's related to bush. My comment was "Gore would make a better president"

He also would deserve the presidency more then bush.

That was a joke, right?

I mean, because carbon dioxide is, in fact, a greenhouse gas...As well as plant food, of course.

So, you were jesting, correct?

If you were, I apologize for thinking that you weren't joking- I'm beginning to get sleepy...

Um... actually, carbon dioxide IS a greenhouse gas. One of the most abundant ones actually. Don't believe me? Here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenhouse_gasses.

If you were joking, my bad. Also up late.

I know I started this topic a bit late.
This is just a topic out of curiosity... I don't want to start a flame war or anything like that.
If your excuse is "he lied", please state the lie. If that lie has to do with the middle east and nuclear weapons THAT WAS NOT A LIE, he was just wrong.
Has he really done that bad of a job?
lol he lied about the Weapons of mass destruction drove our country into two wars that costs our country 10 billion a month, killed 4100 of our soilders thanks to his bold faced lies not mention that he has showed that he is slow acting and incompentent and does not deserve to be President or even be in politics or even live in the United states!
FOR THE LAST TIME... He did not lie... HE JUST DIDN'T KNOW
A think tank did the counting,
the numbers still could rise
the total what we were told before the war
was 935 Lies [http://projects.publicintegrity.org/WarCard/]

$1000 will buy you,
a pretty good suite at the Ritz,
a Truffle dinner,
plenty champagne,
a custom suit that fits,
Yeah, a thousand dollars will get you,
a pretty nice day at the store,
but 935 Lies [http://edition.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/01/23/bush.iraq/] will get you,
a trillion dollars of war.

Nine hundred and thirty five falsehoods,
told by our leading guys,
eyes of steel,
tongues of fork,
935 lies [http://www.mydamnchannel.com/Harry_Shearer/Music_Videos/935Lies_687.aspx]

I got a few more if you want them ;)

Global warming causes the carbon dioxide to rise from the oceans... IT IS THE EFFECT and NOT THE CAUSE.

You're welcome to your opinion, even if it's wrong. It would help me to take you more seriously if you spelled myth correctly to.
Also, for your information, it has been PROVEN that every time the Earth has been warmer than it is now, there has been an abundance of CO2 and other greenhouse gasses.
Go back under your bridge, troll! (I've always wanted to say that.)

But your statement earlier was that carbon dioxide was not a greenhouse gas at all... You're contradicting yourself, Anonymous...

Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas has one of the highest impacts on global warming, second only to water vapor clouds (but those don't count).

I suppose the point you are trying to make is that mankind isn't the main cause of all of this temperature increase lately, am I right?

You forgot methane gas.

Yes, and I left ozone out, as well.

Both methane and ozone are important greenhouse gases, but CO2 gas and H20 vapor are the main ones.

It's not just methane, it's not just CO2, it' a combination of the various gasses. For anyone too lazy to click my earlier link, here is a direct quote from Wikipedia on the subject.

"In order, Earth's most abundant greenhouse gases are:

water vapor
carbon dioxide
methane
nitrous oxide
ozone
CFCs
"

Man isn't the cause; the sun is.
May I clarifie my previous sentence. warming is the cause, carbon dioxide is the effect

America invaded Iraq for oil, not to use it but to keep it from Iran. If Iran takes control of that oil and cuts off all supply to the U.S, your country will be dead Mad Max style.

Went from Bush to global warming and greenhouse gasses.

Most common?
Well, yes, but they're also responsible for the most greenhouse effect: H2O vapor is responsible for 36?70% of the greenhouse effect on Earth, while CO2 is responsible for 9?26% of it. Methane causes 4-9% and ozone causes 3-7%.

EDIT: Sorry for that derailment..

George Bush, Jr. has been referred to numerous times as the 'Velcro President,' meaning that all of the various scandals that have happened in the past 8 years tend to stick to him (as opposed to someone like Reagan, seen as the 'Teflon President,' since nobody seemed to remember that any scandals happened during his tenure as President).

I'm not sure if this is Bush's fault or if he's just rather unlucky...
