Why does everyone hate the PS3?

I don't hate it, I'm just disappointed with it. It is clearly the most powerful system, hardware-wise. It's just that it doesn't have that many really great PS3 only games, and that the online play, while free, isn't as good as Xbox Live.

And apparently Bethesda hates PS3. Or maybe they just forgot to update? I dunno.

There's my two cents.

You're talking about Onlive, and though that will be a great tool, it will not be the end of the console. the cellphone was not the death of the landline, the tv was not the death of the Movie etc.etc. It will be a great tool, but it will not kill the console scene.

I'll admit that I would probably be just as happy with a PS3 as my X360, but the reason I have an X360 - it was released first! And now I'm quite satisfied...

Because were bloody idiots and it reminds me of school when some kid always had the best phone and people complain about it.

Unfortunaly theres always hate about something though i never hear anyone complaining about the Wii, so that must mean that the Wii is the winner be default OH GOD I CHOSE THE WRONG CONSOLE!
You never hear anyone complaining about the Wii?

Have we been looking at the same forum?? :D

If nobody complains about the Wii, there has to be some reason. Suggestions:

1. The Wii is far superior to PS3 and X360
2. The Wii is far inferior.
3. Nobody cares about the Wii.

Your choice people!

is it just me or does everyone seem to go on about how much cheaper the xbox is, but then again, seeing as xbox owners have to pay to play online, if you were one of the first xbox owners and played online since its release, havnt you basically spent as much on the xbox as you would the ps3?

also, the reason the xbox has more exclusive games is simply because the xbox has been out longer.

also can all the fanboys [microsoft or sony for that matter] just now please shut the fuck up about this? these console wars are just annoying

So I own a PS3 and it seems like it is getting shunned by the world of gaming. Everywhere I go there is always a Microsoft fan boy telling me how much the PS3 sucks. Don't get me wrong, I've met some PS3 fan boys and the are not any better, but why is the PS3 the scum of the universe? Maybe it is just demographics, or maybe I just don't know enough people. AND, why the f-sauce didn't they release an expansion for Fallout 3 on the PS3??????? Not cool. >.<
Simple; 360 fans don't want to admit they bought the wrong Console.

Hold your tongues, fanboys! There's reason to my claims!

The 360 is a joke. Seriously. Look at everything it lacks, then go wandering round your house. You'll probably find the missing components in common household items. Let us begin;

WIRELESS CONNECTION. Most phones can connect Wirelessly to the Internet without some uber-expensive / fuck ugly attachment. The DS can do it, the PS3 can do it, the PSP can do it, the Wii can do it, any PC / Laptop worth speaking of can do it... the 360 can't.

INTERNET BROWSER. Again, people's phones have Net Browsers on them now. So does the Wii, so does the PS3, so does the PSP, and I've been told the DSi can as well. The 360? It sits there slack-jawed and asks "Doubleyou Tee Eff is teh interweb Bowzer?"

HARD DRIVE. Eighty quid should buy me the 120GB 360 HDD. Forty quid got me a 160GB PS3-compatible HDD. I've seen 250GB drives for fifty, and 500GB ones for eighty. Microsoft are a bunch of thieving bastards.

X-BOX LIVE SUBSCRIPTION. People don't engage the brain, but if they did they'd see it's a ripoff.
360 Elite costs about £200. An 80GB PS3 is about £300. Call it £350 if we upgrade the HDD.
These consoles should last AT LEAST five years before they are ditched for the 8th Gen machines. That means you want at least five years of online play.
PS3 charges you nothing for that.
360 charges you £35 a year.
After five years, your 360 has cost you £375. The PS3 is still at £350, and that includes a non-standard HDD we bought separately. If we assume "out of the box" costs, then after just three years the PS3 becomes the cheaper console.

Oh, and if you don't buy 12-month subscriptions and use 3-month or 1-month allotments instead, it'll cost you even more...

I could go on about how the controllers eat batteries like crazy, or how DVD tech will be obsolete in a few years (making the 360 obsolete), but the point is made; the people who claim "PS3 2 expenziv lol!" are looking at out of the box costs, not real costs. When you buy the PS3, the only thing you'll need to buy are games. When you buy the 360, you'll need games, subscriptions to live, batteries, extra peripherals... and you're still buying a trumped up PS2, not a true 7th Gen machine.
I love you. Let's destroy the 360 together! (And get our money back)
Btw, the post was awesome, but I dont think the Wii have a possibility to connect to the internet.. And I said I THINK that it cannot do such a thing. Anywho, it does not charge it's users about 100 $ for shitty routers.
Thank you again for taking your time to write the post. It means alot to 360 fans who will cry themselves to sleep tonight.

lol thank god... I mean I don't particularly like the wii (got sick of it after 30 mins) but man the bitching about it was getting intense for a while back there!

Hmm I must dig up my console/breafast cereal analogy from an old thread if I can find it...

PS3 is more expensive than the other consoles, it doesn't have a really solid library of exclusive games, no backwards compatibility, and I don't care that much about Blu-ray. That's why I don't have a PS3. However, I definitely don't hate the console and if offered a free one would gladly take it.

MONEY!

As already said before, the PS3 still haven't catched up to Xbox 360 in terms of good games and is still way more expensive. Xbox Live may cost, but it costs so little that it barely makes a mark in your wallet, it's so much better than PSN anyways.

Sure, PS3 may have better junk in the trunk, but being able to make the games look better doesn't quite equal making them better or any such.

Oh and my biggest problem with the PS3 is the controller. It hurts so, so much in my hands that I can't play with it for more than 10 minutes at the most.
I own both and the only thing I have used mine for so far is a DVD player. There are no good games and when they come out multi platform, why choose PS3 when all my freinds have 360

oh yea and the Xbox interface is way better and alot smoother
