Why do I dislike Sony?

Well for starters, I think the PS3 is a joke. It draws away to many developers, so it has very few exclusvies I want(not enough to justify $500.) Almost any game coming out this generation will atleast be on the 360 or Wii or both. Plus their is no reason why a PS3 game cant be on the 360 unless they have extra content to fill the entire blue-ray disc, but I have no problem changing dics mid-game. At least the Wii exclusives can be justified. I do not think the Wiimote is just a gimmick. The Wii can play traditional games like Metroid 3, as well as nontraditional games like Trauma Center.

I also have a feeling that Sony is pretty arrogant with their public statements. I know most companies are, but good companies have the products to back them up slightly. For example, I dont see why Sony keeps making claims that blue-ray is the "next advance". Yes it is, but people like me who have normal TVs dont give a crap about HD.
Haha, despite all that hate you are probably the one person here who knew what they were talking about, and didn't pull "Riiiidge Racer" out their ass to sound funny.

Copy this guy's argument into notepad people.

Anyway, less bickering about who won WWII and Thermophalye and back to the point, Majority doesn't always mean "bad" but it doesn't always mean "good/better" like you said earlier. I just hope you aren't going to be naive enough to think that as long as there is more then it is better, because everything has to start from the number "1" and work it's way up - I'm not saying DVD sucks but Blu-Ray is better and it's hard to deny, you get what you pay for. HD-DVD vs. Blu-Ray is a much more fair comparison, no matter what speed they spin at but at the same time it's unfair since HD-DVD is pretty much dead. Stop being so protective, I love DVD's too, and I've loved them for a long time, but when people say "there is no difference except in price har har!" then it's obviously not true and someone has to set the record straight. Sales don't decide who is better, and there are many examples that a lot of people should know, especially in the gaming industry, it just decides who is cheaper and more popular.
Since we are coming out of the closet Blu-Ray could hold 1TB Be at googol P run at speeds faster than sound and be cheaper than Free and I would still not like it until I get my Star Wars, Holy Grail, and Jarhead. That for is the killer blow to my chances of buying Blu-Ray I doesn't have the movies I want. (HG is owned by Sony and Star Wars by Lucas Film (published by fox) who are on the BRDA yet there not on Blu-Ray WTF and HD-DVD does have at least Jarhead).

On topic. (Cheap shot coming)

Dear Sony Computer Entertainment

I have had your Playstation Portable 2000 since November 2007 and I think you have made a very high quality product. I only have one minor complaint. Where the FUCK is my second nub!

OK well that's a little ridiculous though, just because the majority thinks something is better doesn't mean it actually is. Remember when almost all of Germany thought Hitler was awesome? Popularity of [something] =/= Quality of [something]

The wii sells because it's cheaper and it's fun, not because it's "the best" - Blu-Ray doesn't sell as much as DVD because not everyone wants to convert to a Blu-Ray player just yet, it doesn't make Blu-Ray suck, it's just less popular. Besides, this reminds me of DVD vs. VHS - the majority of people thought there was almost no difference between DVD and VHS, and that "VHS was just fine" - eventually people came around and now DVD is the format of choice.

Remember, you get what you pay for, I'd gladly take a Rolls Royce over a VW bug, I don't care if everyone else thinks it's cute or something, when you compare the two the Royce wins. If you compare their prices, obviously the shittier product will cost less - is that a good thing though? Just because it cost less doesn't automatically make it better, a used junker will cost less than a safer and reliable car that isn't as old - it will cost more but the reliability is obviously not going to be as good and even if you try and drive safely, that car can fuck up on you a lot quicker than a newer one that hasn't been used as much - not to mention that it's parts may be harder to find or that fixing it will be a lot tougher since a junker has so many more problems than a newer (but more expensive) car that once you fix one problem you just find another.
You made a good argument in your post as well.

The ps3 is a great system ,and i have no major disagreement with it other than the fact that it is losing its exclusivity because of the poor choices Sony has made. My real argument is with the company not the product sony makes bad design and planning choices about every 2 steps. Sony spent so much time working out blue-ray and adding motion sensitivity that it was hard for them to plan out titles that were going to be released in the beginning stages of the product. Personally i would have much proffered to have the six-axis controller released later and the games released earlier. Xbox had it's advantages and has gotten off to a slightly better start. Currently the xbox has it's place in my heart over my wii, and ps3, but thats only because i prefer the games that are on it nothing to do with the actual system

but the ps3 is doing better and in the next year it will become a formidable gaming console.

Your PSP can play UMD movies but when I go to the store I only see 10 different movies all of them only containing the movie (No special features) and costing $10.99 for old (Spider-Man 1) to 29.99 (Talladega Nights) please release more movies on UMD or at least at a lower price.

Riiiidge Racer! (I kid I kid)

Might i ask, what the hell is the point of acheivments/trophies? They don't do anything, just make you look like a big ol' fat retard (parden my french). "Ooooh, look at me, i've got an acheivment for getting this many points in a round of Halo, everyone get on the ground and lick my balls."

The only thing that acheivments/trophies should be good for is for Online Usage. Say, instead of them being little space wasters, why don't they give you points varieing on how hard the actualy acheivment was? Then let you buy stuff off of Xbox Live or PSN.

I myself am a Playstation lover (i got a PS2 for my Birthday when it came out). I now own my own PS3 and i love it cause it won't brick itself just like my friends 360 did twice in a month. Just thought i'd mention that

Well too bad we don't live in a perfect world with infinite resources and no need for money, people keep telling me it's impossible but damnit I can dare to dream - besides, there are some (farfetched) things that could make that possible in the (not so) near future.

Also, we gotta be a little nicer to blu-ray, it still plays DVDs so it's not like you have to convert everything back to BDMV, nor does it render the DVD's useless, a DVD may be the better value but soon enough the difference won't be that big. Unless we go back to the "blank discs" which for some reason, those haven't gone down in price - but supply and demand control everything and I'm sure there is a lot of supply and hardly any demand for Blu-Ray writables. We won't need any for a while though...

Oh, and before I forget, Sony has a lot of hate towards them because they are a little unorganized with trying to make things more "consumer friendly" - they've spent billions of dollars on so many SKU's and putting rumble back into Dualshock and now they can't afford to do simple things like put HD cables with the PS3 boxes, and not to mention that the latest firmware update which was supposed to make "everything so much more awesome" ended up...fucking everything up (except for some lucky bastards like me). I talk crap about the Wii and it's corner cutting (and of course, it's done more than the PS3) but Sony is also shit at cutting corners and we need to kick them in the rear to make them realize that we aren't just going to donate money to them.

Everything the PS3 lacks, the other systems have (mainly 360 but it's hard to say with all the updates PS3 is planning on getting assuming they don't fuck up) and vice versa but I think Sony is taking more heat because...well...sadly they need it, it's motivational support for them, now that so many problems have been fixed since launch that everyone who bought a PS3 near launch time just felt ripped off. That's the short answer anyway.

I respect the 360 and I love my Wii (not as much as everyone else though) and I don't enjoy the 360 but it's still a good system for it's price, especially around launch time.

That only happens if you get cocky about them. I do not think achivements or gamerscore are a sign of skill. Their have been harder games in the past that did not have achivements. But it is a nice thing to have to get you motivated to do things you would normally not do. For example, without the achivement system, I may never have tried veteren on CoD4. Some levels were a real pain, but eventually I got my Mile High Club achivement and it felt great. Achivements are really for the people like me who take pride in their video game accomplishments. If you dont care about them, they dont exactly hurt you, so it works both ways.

Well Mass Effect was one of the first games of this gen. that I saw which had actual in-game effects when you completed achievements, I think we're starting to understand how to use achievements effectively and not just as an e-penis extension - but for the most part it will just be a "to-do list" that will add onto your epenis, depending on how much you've completed.

-and for what it's worth, the Trophies system has a few minor changes but for the e-penis factor they do seem better, since gamerscore just has one huge bundled up score, meaning that someone could have completed a lot of easy achievements, or a few hard ones, but the PSN card shows how much of each difficulty you've completed.

Also I was going to post a pic. of that 360 kid that says "It isn't just beating the games, it's showing everyone online that I did" but I can't find it ;_;

EDIT: Oh, an example, lets say CoD4 gets "trophies" - completing the game once will result in a "bronze" trophy, but beating it on veteran and completing Mile High Club will result in a "Gold" and "Platinum" trophy. I still think they should have in-game effects like a lot of other games do though >_> that's the real motivation for me.
