Wich is you favorite FEMALE videogame character and why ?

Commander Shepard was already more interesting than her male counter-part to be sure but Mass Effect 2 makes it outright unfair to compare the 'default' Shepard to her both in terms of her own unique characterization options and her interactions with the crew.
Can male Shepard hook up with Garrus or Thane? Not a chance. Okay, that isn't the most important thing but it is a clincher!
Any other female character that I enjoy playing anywhere near as much isn't nearly as well-defined if every aspect of her isn't controlled by the player(as in The Sims).
Ellen Ripley in the Alien games doesn't really count, with every videogame rendition of her being a pale imitation of the movie version of her. Funny enough, like Shepard, she started off being written as a man!

Aya Brea: Parasite Eve, any woman who can shoot a gun and light people on fire is friggin awsome in my book
Eve: Parasite Eve, Kinda the same deal as Aya, but can mutate animals into blood thirsty monsters at a whim.
Sarah Karragain: Starcraft, I loved her when she was human, but I addor her now that she is Zerg, she has become 10X more badass after the mutation... Say maybe her and Eve should get together....... NOOO!
Lili: Tekken series, Rich, ass whoping, and cute, she has to hold a place on my top 10 list.
Sylvanis Windrunner: Warcraft, Dark, evil, and good with a bow, all that and beautiful to boot and you get the banchie queen of the forsaken.

5.Tear-Tales of The Abyss
Why?: This first magic caster in a while that can use a spear to melee effectively.
4.Terra-FFVI
Why?: She goes through a lot of shit and she always pulls through.
3.Sophitia-Soul Calibur
Why?: Going to those lengths to save your kids is something that can be vastly appriciated.
2.Mai Shiranuai-Fatal Fury/King Of Fighters
Why?: Here being absent in KOFXII was reason enough for that game to bomb. Now that takes sex appeal.
1.Aerith Gainsbourough-FFVII
Why?: She's pretty, she's got a bubbly attitude, and she's always there for her friends. Plus being directly involved in one of gaming's major plot turns has her over Tifa's massive chest cannons in my eyes. Sorry Tifa fans but you know it's true.

It's hard to pick an all time favorite.
I'm pretty fond of Etna (Disgaea) and Quistis Trepe (Final Fantasy 8) however.
As much as I like Claudia Black's acting, I'm reluctant to heap high priase on a character from a game that new. The reason simply being that it remains to be seen if I'm going to remember Morrigan, or really any characters from that game, as being unusually cool or fun a few years down the road.
