Wich is you favorite FEMALE videogame character and why ?

Ashleigh Williams, Mass Effect, obviously written by someone who understand "strong women" is not a synonym for "bitchy psychopath" (ala Lara Croft), kicks ass in battle and reads poetry in her off hours, strong sense of duty, feel likes a real person rather then a poorly written cardboard cutout.

Samus Aran hands-down.
You don't mess with a bounty hunter who causes the extinction of one of the most dangerous creatures in the universe, is the Space Pirates' worst nightmare, and blows up every other planet she sets foot on. They barely make MALE characters who do that kinda stuff.

Close contenders are (adult) Rydia from FFIV and Princess Zelda.

Alyx Vance, it's great to see a character show some emotional range in a video game. And she's the sidekick with unlimited ammo who is actually useful, and not an example of artificial stupidity.
Yunalesca from FFX was pretty interesting, even if she was a massive pain to kill.
And continuing the antagonist route, GLaDOS from Portal. She's just a great character, and had the best ending song of any game I've seen so far.

For one, I'm gonna have to pick Maria from Silent Hill 2 - I've always found her fascinating, as she always has this very enigmatic aura througout the game. I also found her to be rather well-developed as a character, and I like how she manages to be both sexy and creepy as fuck at the same time.

For slightly less deep reasons and more "Whoa, she's hot" reasons, I really liked Eva from MGS 3 (anyone who's played MGS 4 will understand why that's in bold). Oh, and Bayonetta - am I the only one who finds her extremely hot?

Team Fortress 2's The Announcer. Her voice literally expresses what she thinks (and that's usually what a bunch of idiots the mercenaries on either team are).

"The enemy has taken our control point." = Nice job idiots, you can't even protect a shiny metal plate of three metres in diameter.
"The cart has almost reached the final terminance." = Unbelievably such a bunch of halfwits whose accumulated IQ is less than that of a plate of pasta actually managed to push a cart this far.

They finally managed to capture a badass female lead, and I find that games have a problem where female characters are either ditzy bints who get kidnapped a lot (See: Princess Peach) or impossible-to-like bitches who no one would honestly admit to tolerating (See: Larxene from KH and Rubi from Wet, though Larxene has the excuse that she doesn't have a heart.)

GLaDOS and The TF2 Announcer are among my favorites and they're both voiced by the same woman - Ellen McLain.

Sarah Kerrigan is my favorite game villain.

Being hot is pretty much her only characteristic, and it's on purpose. I doubt you are alone.
