Wasn't the Brazil-Portugal game pretty boring by the way?
It was dreadful... worst game of the WC so far. From twoof the supposedly best teams...

Argentina looking better every day.
Argentina?
Sorry, I really really really don't think they're going to win.
It's just that teams that do extraordinarily well in the group stage rarely win.
My bet was on Spain but screw those guys.
I like Villa and Casillas and all, but half of their team are cheating fucks.
So, I guess, I still think it's going to be Portugal - Argentina in the finals.

It's honestly so hard to call... all the big teams have failed to impress this year. Holland look very good and solid but they have to play Brazil in the next round if they go through.

My best guess would be whoever wins between Spain and Portugal will be the favorite.

Well, you seem to be quite confident that Brazil will beat Chile.
That's quite weird, seeing how out of those teams, Chile has been somewhat more impressive during this World Cup. I mean, okay, Brazil is Brazil, but Dunga's team just doesn't wow me.

I don't see Chule beating Brazil but you never know, it's impossible to predict. Though given Brazil's pathetic display against Portugal yesterday, you could be right.

Uruguay look pretty impressive too, very solid ATM against S Korea.

Look out, Rooney & Co. - Paule has predicted your failure, and he is the undisputed aquatic master of fate!
Just one more piece of proof that cephalopods are awesome. :D

Well, I actually think Korea looks better.
And I hate, hate, HATE their football team.
Oh, and I know I have mentioned that already, but what's your take on Spain's display yesterday?

I know you were asking Miracle... But Spain was really struggling. I was dissapointed.
The powerhouses of the world cup are fading, it is time for a truly unpredictable world cup. France and Italy are already out, so honestly, anything could happen.

I'm off to the pub with friends to see US play Ghana. Been an epic World Cup thus far that has wrecked my heart and mind. I'm exhausted, but I want more. Come on boys!

Well, it's Chile. I expected them to be really impressive.
The only reason I actually bring this game up is because I have lost all of my respect for senor Fernando Torres and think that his actions were really detrimating to the sport itself.
As for the match, 'twas good. I think Spain was genuinely impressive - I like Villa a lot. He's awesome.

I gotta head to the bar in a bit to watch the US game myself. I really hope the US continues. I want us to go all the way to the finals. I want soccer to become a big sport in the USA.

USA!

It already is. Millions of us in pubs around the country. Covington, KY is where I'll be today.

Yeah, that is what was dissapointing to me. Torres.. ugh.
I believe this article talks about the fall of Torres and the beautiful play by Villa

Torres seems... I dunno, out of his element or something

That video was awesome. Thanks for making my day.
The one guy that slide down the stairs was hilarious, but the video itself was beautiful.

If I ever have to listen to another vuvuzela it'll be to soon.

I'm an American rooting for Germany. They will win.

I thought they were pretty good. I knew they'd find their form. Torres though... WTF. I'd much rather see them win than Portugal, though they're no strangers to the cheaty diving playstyle themselves either.

Tomorrow though... the first real crucial clash of the titans... can't wait!

A free interpretation of a famous quote by Gary Lineker:

"Football is a simple game. Twenty-two lads, chasing a ball for ninety minutes. And in the end; the Germans win."

Sorry to all you Americans, but I'm rooting for Ghana because Africa deserves to have at least one team get to the quarter finals when the cup's in Africa for the first time in its history.

Edit: Woot! First goal for Ghana. Also, 888th post!

Edit 2: Also, what do y'all think of Glenn Beck saying football is "unamerican" and that the American people "don't want to have anything to do with it".
If that's not exactly what he said I'm sorry I only read a translation of it and translated it back to English.
I personally think he's an idiot and should stop acting like he speaks for all of America.

Edit 3: Oh, a goal for the US, interesting. They're a lot better in the second half than they were in the first.

Edit 4: This is a very interesting match. The two teams are at about the same level.

Edit 5: Okay, the time-wasting of Ghana is very ugly playing.

...
...

Okay, just a random question: If the goalie of one team joins the attack and is in the enemy's box, can he use his hands?

So much for the USA... too bad, I was rooting for them in that game. They were a big surprise for me at this World Cup, with a tendency for great comebacks in the second half of their matches.

Oh well. Let's hope our team does better tomorrow. Go Germany! Send the English packing! :D
