Nice goal by South Africa, and the nations goes insane.
Damn it... now the bloody horns are even louder. Come on Mexico!
It's called a vuvuzela. Each one is apparently as loud as a chainsaw. They annoy me.

I'm pretty annoyed that we couldn't get that last second goal, pretty damn annoyed. Oh well, we tied 1-1, which is a lot better than most people expected them to do.
Huh, I never knew you were South African! Cool. Sorry for rooting against you... it's just the horns :D
Haha it's cool man.
Wait... horns?

EDIT: I just realised that I had a blond moment :D

Hell yeah, I'm excited. I've been watching football since I was a little boy.
I haven't got any personal preferences, but I'm expecting Spain to win this one.

For the sake of my ears, I hope they go out in the first round.
Why can't they just sing a song instead :(
Tell me about it, though after watching the last two Africa Cup of Nations I have developed sort of an immunity from them, and they aren't that annoying to me.

It's just constant noise, it takes away the cheering of the crowd, they always use them, where as a cheer shows something.

Just watched South Africa 1-1 Mexico. I had bad luck because I only saw the first 45 minutes which had little emotion. The last 45 were overall great according to the other viewers.

Heard that a penalty for South Africa wasn't appointed by the judge. May God have mercy on his soul.

And vuvuzelas are hellish annoying.

Yeah I'm psyched! It's nice to see a couple of apparently non-Dutch people rooting for the Netherlands (Holland). I really hope we can win it this time! However, our team always seems to be too inconsistent in the tournaments, causing them to get knocked out. I was so pissed during the last European Cup when we wiped the floor with the two finalists of the last WC, only to lose to f'ing Russia in the next round (no offense, Russia).

Apart from the Netherlands, I hope all the African teams will do well, because I think it'll mean a lot to them. I always like it if the host country does well. The horns/vuvuzela's are terrible though.

Gah its a pain to watch it in Japan.
All the commentary's in Japanese, which I don't understand. And some of the games aren't showing, such as Australia vs Germany, which sucks cause I'm rooting for Australia

I'm hoping France gets knocked out early so everyone shuts up about it over here. They take their football and rugby way too seriously in France.
LOL it must have sucked for you when they won back in 98.

I'm about excited about it as I am about sitting a 2 hours 45 minute long exam next week. I just don't get the appeal of watching men kick balls around for 90+ minutes.

Good opening game with a good result. I'd have liked South Africa to win it though. I don't usually like football but like many others the event itself gets me caught up in the action.

Thinking of having £5 on Uruguay to win 2-1. I still can't decide whether to put the money on America or not, of course I want England to win but I see the shake up being possible.

Indeed, and why look at a painting? You've better things to do than look at a bunch of colours on piece of canvas.

Personally, I find paintings more interesting, though they wouldn't hold my attention for more than a few minutes at the most.

My family have always been massive football fans, so of course I look forward to the world cup. I'll be cheering England on tomorrow, but I doubt that they'll get past the quarter finals. Still, its about the atmosphere and appreciating good football. The matches may not have the quality of teams like football clubs like Barcelona, but 2-3 international matches a day for a month is certainly worth watching!

I really want to see what North Korea is going to bring to the tournament. Other than that I'm going to be pulling for England and then Germany.

I'm just watching Mexico's games. I thought the would defeat SA but they barely got out with a tie. I'll be more than happy if they make it to the semifinals though it will be a lot harder now since they didn't get the three points if this game.
