I would probably go with Big Rigs, but I've never played it.

So I'm going to have to go with World of Warcraft. Phantasy Star Online gets a dishonourable mention.

I think ET takes the cake. Anytime a company tries to ignore the fact that it was ever even made, that's just bad news all over.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Link: Faces of Evil.
Maybe it's because most Zelda games these days are terrible.

That game for the sega, you are donald duck and you shoot plungers at things, i used to have it as a little kid, it worked for 2 whole days, then died.
QUACK SHOT! I loved that game! How dare you!

I can't believe just about no-one has mentioned my link. I set up the thread to see people's comment to this game. It's interesting what the worst games for some are. Surprised I've not read Night Trap (although that game's something of a guilty pleasure with me).
Zelda games these days are not terrible, you might not like them but terrible? by what standards? Because I (and millions more) REALLY enjoyed Twilight Princess and the new one for the DS (Phantom Hour glass) not to mention The Minish Cap for the GBA.

ET ever existed, therefore it cannot be the worst game ever. I have no recollection. The timeline is unclear to me. I don't believe I ever would have played such a thing, but if you say I did, then I must have.

March Madness 07...

I can deal with the missed break away dunks, and Vitale yelling until my ears bleed, but the game then decided to erase my backup PG. He's no longer on my team, he just vanished like he witnessed a triple homicide and is now in witness protection.

Just awful.

One of the Might and Magic games for PS1....you couldn't even progress. After 10 steps, the floor literally opened and my guy fell into code land never to return. The world just ripped open and you could see white everywhere and no, that was not a "feature."

Superman64 for sure sucked.

March Madness 07 for ps2 was terrible. It played like a first generation PS1 game even though it came out when PS3 was already on the market.

Red Ninja for xbox was crappy, but not the worst ever.

I found God through the medium of Zoo Race although perhaps that was a timely acid flashback - dont know, not checking. But it can't be all bad. Plus I played Barbie Beach Adventure and that rocked. Yes, you've got your Superman Returns and Custer's Revenge and yes you shouldn't really try and make raping minorities a fun goal of a game but at least you didn't have to wait thirty minutes for it to load from a tape before sucking enormous satanic chunks or crashing.

Molecule Man for the Atari 65XE, I salute you. 30 minutes to load, then you had to guide a white, round man around a white-on-black '3d!' (isometric, fixed camera naturally, obscured routes and hidden items) maze verrrry slowly, and if you didn't find some time extend thing every 15 seconds you died instantly. I might just possibly have found one of those, once, because at one point I didn't see the 'Game Over' screen for about 30 seconds, but I forget if that wasn't just a dream.

In any case, the time I spent playing MM was less than a tenth of whatever length it *did* take to load. Grim!

Oh dear... watching it made me lose faith in humanity. Don't want to know what playing it would do. We have a winner me thinks.

Deja vu [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.53368]?

And yes, I'll have to opt for ET on this one, topic-wise. It was about as intuitive a French fry.

'Dr Jeckal and Mr Hyde' on the NES. I dare you to look for it!

1st you cant hit anything but everything hits you, then you change to Mr Hyde for no reason. You still cant hit anything, then lightning strikes you and you die...

...that's it...

AAAAHHH. MY EARS.

That whole series is just absymal.
SOF2 had an enjoyable multiplayer, in my opinion.

I would have to say the worst game ever is World of Warcraft. It doesn't have terrible graphics, bad gameplay or anything like that, but can you name another game that can royally mess up IRL anything like it can?

For a traditionally bad game i'd have to say Superman 64 or Carmageddon i think.

I'm honestly not sure what the worst one I've ever played is. I mean I have never been so infuriated with a game as I was with Gears of War because of just how painful it was to play using the southpaw stick options. (Excluding out right bugs in other games.) I guess I could say the "worst" game I have ever played was Devil May Cry 2 but even then had it not attempted to be a DMC game it might have been alright. That game was just so un Devil May Cry that it was not bearable. (Yes I beat it.)

God... I remember that game. The last level was the most awful thing ever.

FYI: You turned into Mr. Hyde if you got hit too much. When you were Hyde, you'd go backwards through this "Dark World" version of Jekyll's world, and everytime Hyde killed something, he'd turn a little bit back into Jekyll. If you made it farther back as Hyde then you made it forward as Jekyll, lightning killed you.

None of this was clear while playing.
