I've stated my opinion on Microsoft's horrid hardware problems with the 360 consoles, and I'll say it as many times as I have to;
I find it absolutely appalling that Microsoft let this hardware problem get past the production line, and it's still going on after 5 fucking years!
And I still find it amazing how people still bend over for them because "Dude, they fix it for free!" No. Just no. I don't care if Microsoft fixes it for free, I don't care if they give you a few extra months free off LIVE (which is also stupid, but that's another rant), I don't care if Jesus Christ comes over to your house and sprays Thor's magic farts to fix it, the fact that the 360 has a failure rate of anywhere between 10% (the lowest I've read) to 60% (the highest I've read) is absolutely appalling for such a huge electronics company like Microsoft. It's the main thing that's kept me from buying one.
You know what's the standard acceptance rate for any general electronic failure? 1%. If any other electronics company had such a massive failure rate they'd do a massive recall and fix the problem ASAP, but all Microsoft has done is turn the radio up, so to speak, and take away the problem by removing the damn lights.
I take the 3 strikes rule for my electronics. For example, if my Ps3 breaks down 3 times: 1st time, fine, things happen, just let me play my games. 2nd time, you're getting on thin ice here, you better watch it. 3rd times the charm, you're out of here, you cannot expect me, as your customer, to keep dealing with this bullshit.
So, yeah, I'm done raging for now. My opinion on the subject, take it how you will, but keep this in mind; My friend has had his 360 break down 5 times in 2 years after keeping it in pristine condition. Both my PS3 (4 years) and PS2 (9 years) have fallen over at least 3 times each and they still work like the day I got them, with my PS2 only needing to be dusted off.
