Then don't buy it! Seriously? Why on Gods green earth would you complain about people enjoying themself? I like my Xbox 360, Glademaster is enjoying his so why complain?
Not everyone has a problem free 360, and some aren't enjoying it at all, that's why.

Do you have some kind of hatred for people having fun? You are not here to do discussion. You waited five posts then strated screaming fanboy. Go home to SDF.
I am here for discussion, your defense of MS was ridiculous.

And about our warranty discussion, I have no idea how the warranty works but I guess it is the same.
It's most definitely not the same, it's a different warranty.

I'm planning on buying a 360 Slim for my birthday and I play on my computer monitor.
The problem is that it doesn't have an HD port and therefore I use a DVI-HDMI cable to play on the PS3 on it. Will it work with said cable?
Also, I use the SCART's for sound on a fairly crappy stereo until I can afford a new surround setup. Will it work when I use both the HDMI and the SCART or is that utterly impossible?

Okay, we'll do like this. Seeing how you are going to do nothing but to continiue screaming fanboy to people who dare to disagree with you. And by the way.
Man, your attitude just sucks. And, you're such a MS Fanboy.
That is not a discussion. That is sad.

I'll go to my Xbox 360 and play Red Dead Redemtion online on a service that's both cheap and well made with some other people who enjoy their Xboxes just as much. That way, I can have fun and you can continue spreading MS-hate filled words just like free speech gives you the right to.

Have fun, cus' I know I will.

Get the VGA HD cable from Monoprice. If you monitor has VGA as well as DVI then you're fine.

So many people on this forum are really smart, intelligent dudes and dudettes (such as yourself miracle) but when it comes to the 360, you all seem to a have a big, soft, daft spot for it.

The problems with 360's are infamously legendary and yet you all accept it and get another, when (I chose "when" 'cos "if" just doesn't capture it) they brake.

If a phone or car or something else had a problem like this it would be made an example of and rarely bought but how many people are on there 3rd/4th/5th 360? Or how many disks have been eaten?

Just strikes me as odd, every time I consider getting one I think "nah, it will only brake and I will be out of pocket and missing a console for a week or two".
Excuse me if a I ask, but is that really so terrible?
Well in this age of micro chips and god knows how much power in something the size of credit card. I mean have you seen some USB pens lately? 32 gig in something the size of your finger tip!
http://www.thinkgeek.com/clearance/on-sale/a6d9/

We have cars than can run 200,000 miles, everything lasts longer than every before with power than ever before ... then we have the 360.

I know things brake and somethings have teething problems or bugs to sort out but how long has the 360 been out? They have just released a new machine, were they could have fixed this problem, while the problem is less likely to happen (I think) than before it still happens too much.

Please elaborate on how I am defending them.
I already bolded it back in Post 67.
How is saying Microsoft want to build shoddy consoles defending them? If they want to build them they can no one is forcing you to buy them. In fact I have many times pointed out their horrible business practises that being one of them yet you still say I defend them? Realy at this point you aren't even adding anything to the argument.

Yeah, I know quite a few people who have just given up on the 360 and are going to the PS3. In fact I've bought stuff really cheap from people like that too. That's about the only redeeming thing about the 360, is it fails so damn often that people sell off accessories and games for cheap so they can just cut their losses. The Jasper Arcades are also apparently the most reliable ones, both compared to earlier and later, and at $130 I got in at pretty much the best window of opportunity ever for the 360.

You're saying don't complain, it's their perogative, in different words, but the content is the same. That's defending them.

No, thats fact.

faster something spins, the less margin for error in well anything.
Sure, but then either build it with higher quality so error is less of a problem or slow down the spin speed.

Yes don't complain they are a complain they don't give a fuck about you have to say if you want to actually ocmplain use your wallet and don't but the thing it isn't that hard to get so how I am complaining them when I am clearly pointing out a much more valid and worthwhile course of action. All it takes is a shredder to get rid of a letter or the delete button an email but they actually care about your not opinions that is why a 360 is designed this way.

i had an original 360 and it never gor the RRoD, you just have to take care of it. the only time i had to send it in was when it had a problem reading discs. i got the 360 slim and it has had no problems thus far. i love it. i have been hearing about this RDoD but that happens when the system overheats and it only happens for a short time while it cools off so it doesnt damage the system. so the RDoD is only temporary

I'm using a HAMA HDMI-DVI right now, and I don't have the playstation in my room 99% of the time, it's just when we've got family visits, I've bought an HDMI-DVI because I wanted an Xbox in my room you know. And the VGA is connected to the computer.

I'm sorry if my post is very hard to understand.

..yet my old CD Walkman used to go jogging with me and never skip or scratch discs, despite having numerous moving parts... and that was 10 years ago.

The tech is there to avoid it.
I think the important word their is Walkman. That is made to be moved around with you. I see you point but a 360 or any console is not supposed to be moved it is supposed to be a stationary object. The fact that it is probably cheaper to make them with this flaw will make it so that they will always be made with this flaw. The electric engine has been around for over a 100 years yet be still used the fossil fuel engines. Just because something better is there does not mean it will be used.
Then you're ignoring when people mention no such problems with the PS2, PS3, Wii or GameCube, or for that matter, the Xbox, only the 360 has this problem, and it's worse with the S.
Also those systems don't spin with the same rpms as the 360 does.
That's the excuse? Seriously?
Actually that is the entire reason, not excuse.

The ps2, gamecube, xbox era didn't spin as fast as the 360, obviously, mostly because it had no reason to. So moving the system COULD cause a problem, however the chances were low because the disc wasn't moving anywhere near as fast as the 360.

The PS3 doesn't need to because sony went the install route. So instead of spinning the disc way to god damn fast the system just installs the important data and occasionally goes to the disc.

Laptops, same thing as PS3. They are not spinning the disc lightning fast. All important data is saved to the HDD and programs don't need to be spun quickly and music has never needed to spin that fast.

The wii doesn't need to because its using DVD size/quality discs.

The reason is precisely because the 360 spins the discs so bloody fast that a bump or jostle causes damage to the disc.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending the systems choice to do this. I love my ps3. The damage to the discs however IS because the 360 seems intent on not using an install function.

The tech IS there. It's called a hard drive.

Also, the thing with the Walkman. If your talking about cassette players that's not a very good argument. Those things had no delicate parts aside from a few wires inside its hard plastic shell. As well once the top was closed there was no empty spaces so nothing could bounce around at all. It was essentially a plastic brick.

Try dropping a discman while listening to it. It might survive the fall, but it won't be pretty.

I've stated my opinion on Microsoft's horrid hardware problems with the 360 consoles, and I'll say it as many times as I have to;

I find it absolutely appalling that Microsoft let this hardware problem get past the production line, and it's still going on after 5 fucking years!

And I still find it amazing how people still bend over for them because "Dude, they fix it for free!" No. Just no. I don't care if Microsoft fixes it for free, I don't care if they give you a few extra months free off LIVE (which is also stupid, but that's another rant), I don't care if Jesus Christ comes over to your house and sprays Thor's magic farts to fix it, the fact that the 360 has a failure rate of anywhere between 10% (the lowest I've read) to 60% (the highest I've read) is absolutely appalling for such a huge electronics company like Microsoft. It's the main thing that's kept me from buying one.

You know what's the standard acceptance rate for any general electronic failure? 1%. If any other electronics company had such a massive failure rate they'd do a massive recall and fix the problem ASAP, but all Microsoft has done is turn the radio up, so to speak, and take away the problem by removing the damn lights.

I take the 3 strikes rule for my electronics. For example, if my Ps3 breaks down 3 times: 1st time, fine, things happen, just let me play my games. 2nd time, you're getting on thin ice here, you better watch it. 3rd times the charm, you're out of here, you cannot expect me, as your customer, to keep dealing with this bullshit.

So, yeah, I'm done raging for now. My opinion on the subject, take it how you will, but keep this in mind; My friend has had his 360 break down 5 times in 2 years after keeping it in pristine condition. Both my PS3 (4 years) and PS2 (9 years) have fallen over at least 3 times each and they still work like the day I got them, with my PS2 only needing to be dusted off.
