a multitude of music

Rock (including punk, grunge etc...)
Alternative (gotta get some maroon 5 in there. jason mraz)
Jrock (pillows to be accurate)
some Jpop
British rock
Videogame music
Classical
Jazz
misc other stuff

i don't listen to Gangster rap at all
Alright, going on a music elitist correcting spree for a moment here. Alternative and British Rock are still rock music. "Grunge" is just a fancy term for hard rock that people in Seattle use to sound different and edgy.

Although i'd consider someone like Jason Mraz or John Mayer's solo stuff more radio friendly pop than I would a style of rock. This is, of course, highly debatable depending on what you consider "pop" to be. I've heard people call the Red Hot Chili Peppers pop, presumably having never heard anything of theirs before 2002.

The Ace Combat soundtracks.
WHERE?!!! I WANT'S THEM!!!! where'd you get them?
Various download sites and clients for 04, 5, 6, and a very, very painful purchase on eBay. 04 and 5 are still incomplete.

Was worth it, though. Sounds good no matter what you're doing. And for the record, Comona turns making a sandwich into a feat that even the great Mobius One would respect.

Melodic Death Metal, since I've been slowly getting into it for a while now and I don't seem to be in any danger of running out of bands that I like in the genre. The growling style of singing sounds, to me, pretty funky, and often melodeath bands have very impressive orchestration in the background to create an even more epic sound.

I'm gonna go with my top two because I switch between them so much I cant choose just one.

1) Indie Rock(and pop and whatever else):
I listen to it for many different reasons. They vary from the dissonant and highly interesting sounds of Pavement, to the endless fluid and surprisingly technical jamming of Dinosaur Jr. The soft vocals and charming main ideas of Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service leave me feeling refreshed. The wimsical and psychedelic, yet meticulously structured sound of the Flaming Lips well...
[Wayne Coyne] turns gothy frowns to indie grins, as surely as Yoshimi wins!
-Questionable Content
The soft calming tones of Iron & Wine can remind you how freaking good an acoustic guitar can sound. The pure strangeness and reckless experimentation of Sonic Youth and the extremely well designed hooks and strangled vocals of Modest Mouse keep me coming back. If those aren't good reasons to listen to music, I don't know what are.

2) Power/Prog Metal kinda stuff:
I will never get tired of listening to Stratovarius, Masterplan, and Sonata Articta. Ever. I don't care if you think it's watered down pop-metal, it's great. Sweeping epic vocals backed up by ethereal keyboards and grounded by solid guitar and pounding double bass is the way to go. There are most definitely more bands than that, but those (and Children of Bodom, who are basically a ridiculously good power metal band in disguise) are the three seeds on my Pandora station, so they get the mention.

Metal, full stop really; bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest never lose their magic for me, I'd elaborate further but don't really have much time. By the way, I fucking HATE Indie Rock. I don't know if it's mainly because everyone in school claims to be "Indie" or because the music/image of the bands makes me want to take them to a high cliff and send them down to the ground rather rapidly.

I listen to pretty much every style except Pop & Country, but my favourite at the moment would be Math-Metal (Such as Meshuggah) & Math-Jazz (like Hiromi Uehara)
Math metal? Lulz, aren't the sub-sub-genres getting a bit ludicrous there? Personally, I just chuck them in the prog. metal sub-genre.

Progressive Rock/Metal. Favorite bands include Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree and Opeth.

EDIT: The genre doesn't matter that much to me, the music's just gotta be good.
Ah, good bands and I agree with your edited statement 100%. A lot of good music can be found in jazz, blues, classical, techno etc that inspires me and others to progress other genres of music as well.

I enjoy mostly Shoegaze rock (My Bloody Valentine, Alcest, Slowdive) I like it because its distortion heavy rock.

I'm into a lot of other stuff too: Black Metal (Burzum, Wolves in the Throne Room), Post-Rock (Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Mogwai, Mono), Trip-Hop and dubstep (massive attack, burial, Teargas and Plateglass).
