Buying SF4.

I assumed I'd be hadoukening and shoryukening my way through the game, mastering the characters and their moves.

I can barely finish easiest mode.
Agreed. After staring at it telling myself I'd try to get better I sold it.
Oh come on it's not THAT hard! You guys are pansies!

Spore. I dare anyone to top this. It was a worse disappointment than any Molyneux release, at least those are still good games.

Mirrors Edge, after the first level, nuff said.
Not 'nuff said. This is actually my favorite game of all time, give me a moment to get my flame shield.

It could be because I refuse to fight the cops, turning the game into into an actual parkour runner instead of a brawler...

Dark Messiah of might and magic... XP... Vista... Top of the line brandnew comps both. and neither could play the CRAPPY BUG-FILLED SAC OF CRAP. Seriosly, when it runs at all it chrashes b4 the tutorial level is completed... and the help forums are so croweded you have a 1/10000th chance of finding the right solution. I was stoked after Heroes of might and magic 5 failed so hard. maybe, i had thought, this change in gametype could breathe new life into the world... hell maybe it did. but i wouldn't know CAUSE I STILL CANT PLAY IT!!! Fable II... It was not a very well refined game and its overall atmosphere was quite unusually different from its predecessor.

Hi,

What is your biggest disappointment after buying a game ?

Me, I wish I had not bought Warhammer 40000 : Dawn of war 2. I found this game boring as hell !

And you ?
Red Faction: Guerrilla, it had so much potential....

The new Wolfenstein. Being a strong Id fanboy, I kept playing the game and enjoying the fun parts but on the inside I was crying. Well.. maybe not THAT bad..

Blacksite: Area 51 though.. that's 30$ I'll never get back, especially since I bought it on the pc.

The most disappointing game I've bought recently would have to be Turning Point: Fall of Liberty.

I came home from the store, thinking it would be a great postapocalyptic game in which you were part of a resistance fighting Germans who had nuked every country that dared oppose it. Well, that was what I assumed from looking at the cover.

However, the game opened with telling me the entire premise of the game was that Churchill had been killed by a taxi and that this had enabled the Germans to beat Britain in the opening stages of WWII. Seriously. The text in the opening cutscene even stated that his character and bravery or whatever were all that held the nazis at bay. Although I sat gaping at the tv for a little while, I tried to give it another go.

However, one of the first things you do is wrestle a German paratrooper and throw him off a skybridge. Let me clarify why that's retarded. You are a god damn construction worker. Beating a paratrooper in hand-to-hand combat. I could accept that, though, and played on.

As I played through the game, I came up with so many plot holes and inconsistencies (which I can't be bothered to list unless someone asks me to) that I just put it down and picked up Saints Row 2 (which is a great game).

With my keen mind I have spotted a trend between this game and games like CoD3 and MOH Airborne - games with a heavy nationalistic overtone, portraying Americans and their allies as heroes and Germans as evil people crushing people under tanks and bombing the statue of liberty. God!
Actually the beginning of your post is quite accurate. The Nazis relentlessly bombed London for months. (The Battle of Britain) Churchill held the people together, even walking the streets during air raids just to keep the English from being demoralized. If Churchill had been killed by a taxi Britain may have really fallen to the Nazis.

Resident Evil 4. Every review was praising it as "one of the greatest action titles" of all time and I hated it.

Left 4 dead for it's lack of content or Dawn of War 2 for it's lack of functionality (it was very broken on release).

Wind waker, twilight princess, super mario sunshine, animal crossing city folk,

Super mario sunshine for sure though. That was the game that killed my childhood.

I had just gotten a gamecube, having loved the N64, and being only 12 at the time. When i played that game my soul just died it was so awful and so boring.

Fuck you fludd. Fuck you to hell. i hope you, and whoever came up with that idea, die, and suffer very painfully before during and afterwords.

My answer is Lost Planet. I bought the thing to battle bug creatures (reminisent of Starship Troopers) but that part of the game was handled terribly and a lot of the time you were fighting guys with guns (I've seen that enough already).

My apoligies. I'll state my reasons:
After the first level, the whole "free-runner" feeling just disappeared.
I felt as though they had made a half job of the game, rather than what it could be.
