Games-wise I'd say Golden Axe. They could have done so much more with BeastRider.

Non-games-wise I can think of a few marvel comics moments where things went crappy. Turning the Punisher into a flesh-golem, the changes to Black Cat's backstory in "The Evil That Men Do" (ruining both the character and the Iron Maiden song at the same time) and anything that includes the Sentry.

I suppose its actually fairly common. Mass Effect is headed in that direction after ME2.

Even Baldurs Gate had its name taken up by a crappy hack and slasher. Also counting in the shitting allover the forgotten realms when D&D decided it wanted to shit all over itself in trying to be a tabletop MMO, I suppose its even more tainted by that. Even the setting got fucked.

I used to love the lore and novels that came out of the Forgotten Realms. Now Ive barely even recognised its existence for the past two or three years, and even when I do its by replaying Baldurs Gate and imagining it never happened.

NHL series on the PC. EA seemed to stop caring, and kept releasing the same PS2 port with very minor updates.

Crash Bandicoot is a big one, its original three games on the Playstation and the newer one on Playstation2 were bloody fantastic platformers and I maintain that buying 1 and 3 were the best 18 dollars spent on PSN.

The newer versions tweaked shit out of his design and the gameplay became retarded. Spyro fared a bit better though.

Aliens and Predator, oh Jesus above how the mighty have fallen.

Alien was a solid horror story, and Aliens is just about as perfect as an action sci fi movie can be.

Predator was a good, fun action movie with a great cast and I personally liked Predator 2.

Then came Alien 3, Alien Resurrection, Alien vs Predator, and Aliens vs Predator: Requiem. Holy shit what a quartet of turds and mediocrity. Alien 3 basically hit the reset button by killing Hicks and Newt, Alien Resurrection reeks of Joss Whedon's smart arse dialogue and a story so shit it defies imagination. Alien vs Predator was watered down to PG-13 in one the most pathetic demographic widening moves ever and Requiem started out okay, but after that scene in the hospital, I just gave up.

Tony Hawk games.

They used to be fun to play, had great sound tracks and building your own skater and park was endless fun. Started to decline after the Pro Skater series ended and got worse as time went on.

Last one I played was American Wasteland, which was a long cry from its glory days.

I like many gamers hate it when a gaming franchise you know and love take a bad turn and ruin it for every one.

Behold the last good CoD!

These two grat plat formers were also ruined after 2 or 3 good games
I have exacly same opinion, expect i would add the Assassins Greed (see what i did there :p) on the list. It seems they are starting to make this game a way that they get atleast one AC game out in a year. I didn't enjoy brotherhood and i feel like this is going to be my opinion in next upcoming AC too.

The Empire Earth series. I loved the first one, and in fact I sometimes still play it nowadays even though its about 10 years old. The second one was pretty underwhelming and I didnt even buy the third, since it looked so s**t (and the reviews seemed to confirm this).

Plus Star Wars after the original trilogy but that one is kinda a given.

Bomberman. It hasn't turned to trash, but it's just... gone. It's faded into obscurity.

Well, obviously, Sonic the Hedgehog.

A lot of people think he went downhill as soon as he went 3D, but I say things only got bad after Sonic Heroes.

Aye, I loved being able to build 700 units of longbowmen and send them on a giant blitz across the map. Then, once the third one came out, they've decided to overcomplicate everything, and seemed like a giant mishmash of features that never worked.

Metal Gear Solid.

MGS1 was brilliant
MGS2 was ok
MGS3 Amazing (better than 1)
MGS4 TOSSING FAIL

MG: PO and PW: boring
MG:Acid: lame
MGS: twin snakes: Remakes of classics are pointless.

Maybe because Pokemon games are still actually really good even if they do seem repetitive. I must have spent at least 200 hours in Gen IV even if I don't like some of the new Pokemon. I can see what you mean though.

OT:
Call of Duty - COD4 honestly blew me away when I first played it, its multiplayer was very addicting.

Final Fantasy - After XIII, I almost feel kind of embarrassed for having liked the series.

Knights of the old republic - Ok, The Old Republic hasn't even come out... but its an MMO, that ruined the series for me. In fact I wouldn't really consider TOR to be part of the series.

Rayman - Rabbids... thats all I can say. (Although Origins may be good, you never know)

Spyro - They did some sort of experiment on him....

Crash - Dead

Can't think of any other games right now. Cant think of any TV/Music/or Films either... because I wouldn't say anything has become trash... well maybe Doctor Who.

Resident Evil has been a bit of a bore. RE5 is great but not nearly as good as its predecessors.

Bloody Roar, ruined in BR: Extreme onwards.

Yes, it's a series pretty much nobody here cares about, but I care enough about it that I demanded it go through a drastic genre shift because of how bloody awful BR4 piled itself to be: Shallow new characters with shallower story-of-the-week, poor presentation, the change of art direction mangling existing character designs... They managed to make an already *painfully* mediocre series and made it even worse, as if Hudson USA going under wasn't a big enough punch to the dick.

It's gotten to the point where I went Chris-Chan on the series and redesigned the cast completely from ground up and tried to rewrite their backstories so that it sounds less like a cheapass shonen manga made by a japanese highschooler and more like... um... Tekken: The After Years.

Dungeon Keeper.

Why?

Because its A) not being made anymore
B) EA have defiled its fucking grave to make it in to an MMO...which is for the chinese only.

Yeah I'd say its trash.
