Mechwarrior/Mechcommander

After the awesomeness that was Mechwarrior 4/Mercenaries and Mechcommander 2 they release that travesty called "Mech assault" on the XBOX THEN decide not to make anymore after leaving the end of Mercenaries on a cliffhanger, I just hope the new remake of it does actually get released and it is faithfull to the old games not just some robot FPS with some basic interchangable bits.

In my eyes, Metroid simply is no more. It hasn't gone to complete and utter crap exactly, but I find it very unlikely that a truly good Metroid game is going to come up again. Super Metroid gave what I wanted from 2D Metroids and Metroid Prime Trilogy came with Prime 1 + Wii controls and honestly, that's all I need. The way I see it, Metroid has already surpassed the mileage it can get out of Metroids and a Metroid game without Metroids seems kind of redundant. Also, they've started to make Samus suck.

The Super Monkey Ball Series. The first two struck gold in balancing solid rolling-platforming with cute critters, thus finding a good mixed audience. After the second one, they changed the level format from abstract levels to a long obstacle courses. It could've been fine had the series not been a *rolling*-platformer. They've also made the monkeys go from cute to really creepy, and changed the game mechanics as well. It's as if the first two never happened, and those were their good games. C'mon, Sega.

Agreed. I'm a massive RHCP fan and while I don't hate Stadium Arcadium it was far too melodic for the man who once sung Party on your Pussy. My favourite album is a toss up between Californication and Blood Sugar Sex Magik, both of which found the perfect mixture between melodic and funk.

Gaming related, Bioshock 2 killed the magic of the original for me.

Def Jam (fighting games) had popular "hip hop" artists kicking each others asses and was fun, Def Jam vengeance (part 1) was a Ok fighting game for the time.

Def Jam Fight for NY came out and it was WTFOMG good, best damn fighting game for along time, even outweighed marvel vs capcom 2 and street fighters for me.

then the dreaded 3rd installment came out called Def Jam Icon came out, I know what they wanted to change stuff up, but removing ALMOST ALL OF THE FIGHTING MOVES FROM THE FIRST 2 GAMES, really how can you screw that up.

...On a side note is it just me or have square enix never made a good game? The last good FF (FF X as said above) was the last game made by squaresoft before it merged with enix to make square enix. since then I have either hateed their games of looked at the with indifference.

Sorry for the rant but I am an old school FF fan and square enix has been pissing on me and fans like me since X-2 and I just had to ***** to someone.
I had a GBA and the remakes of early FF titles were fun and FFTA is awesome.

Sonic yes your right the 3d ones have sucked, but the handheld ones (and sonic 4) have been solid. So just avoid the 3D stuff i guess.
Actually the 2 Sonic Adventure game were pretty good and even Heroes was alright gameplay wise (the writing was atrocious though). It fell apart from there though.

Pokemon.

I am a fan to the death and the proud holder of many of the games, trading cards and cute minitures you pick up from gift shops at the beach.
But I cant take it seriously anymore. After generation 2 it just started to flop with all these terrible evolutions of the original 150 and generally poor designs.

I mean come on?? Really? Its just a slighty fatter Lickitung with some hair.

And how is this fat chocolate orange better than mutha'f***ing Rhydon?

Breaks my heart...
You'd think players would have built the perfect team with 250 to choose from but apparently not.

Lion head.

I loved Fable and Fable: The Lost Chapters and Black and White 2 then they made Fable 2 and Fable 3 and I don't see any sign of black and white 3. :(

Forgotten Realms.

Great when: Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate 2, NWN.

Shit when: NWN2.

I would have to say the FF Tactics series. The first one is still in my top 5 of all time favorites but the other games in that share the name have been nothing in comparison.

Obvious favourites here are Spyro and Crash Bandicoot. (Why. Just...why.) The same goes for Rayman too. I don't not like the Rabbids, but I miss the original games that, you know, had stories and characters.

Another one is Silent Hill. It's not trash, per se, but when you compare something like Homecoming to something like SH2, something has gone terribly wrong. I'm hoping Downpour is better.

Suikoden. It used to be THE truly immersive and open-ended RPG out there...then it became somewhat more popular and turned into a JRPG dump. Bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Tony Hawk. The last one I thought was great was Underground. All the others after it were bad.

One more vote for Silent Hill. I actually liked some of the ideas in 4, and some of the visual design was downright awesome, but Homecoming was a hack job. A gratuitously drawn out repetitive mess that explained both too much and too little and had virtually no sense of the earlier games' draw.
I agree, I tolerated Homecoming and the ending was as predictable as the sun rising in the east. Origins, on the other hand, for me was a slap in the face, I don't want fan service, I want a game that makes sense.
