WIndows XP on my desktop pc, Windows 2000 on a backup harddrive in case XP crashes and I really need a computer fast, and Windows Vista on my Laptop. But I think the harddrive with XP on it is corrupted, because I've been getting BSOD crashes every so often - and reïnstalling windows, or replacing it with another OS doesn't work - and it startted after I got a virus... but I'll manage somehow.

There's no point upgrading just yet for me. Money for less functionality? No thanks. XP works with the most games.

Duelbooting Fedroa and XP on my Laptop. My Desktop runs XP as well as a half-finished Arch Linux installation which is like building a kit car. Starting with fabricating the parts yourself. Bloody hard. I'm replacing it with either Knoppix or Fedora.

My first was 3.1, I believe, but I was still using BBC and MS-DOS at the same time on various other computers. Old laptop has Vista, to my annoyance. New laptop has XP. Old desktop still has 98.

I prefer '98.

Vista Home Premium. Tried switching to 7, but I really didn't like it (neither did my PC).

Currently using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

My laptop has Vista.

As for first, hmm, that'll be IBM PC-DOS probably about version 2, although I've tried 1.x PC DOS was made by Microsoft for the original IBM PC, then MS later sold a version of it for PC clones as MS DOS.

I've used many versions of DOS, both IBM and MS versions, and also a couple of versions of OS/2.
Favourite versions of DOS were IBM DOS 3.30 and MS DOS 5 :)

As for Windows, the first version I used was Windows 286 (or was it 386? I forget). Anyway that was a variant of Windows 2.x

I've since used Windows 3, 3.1, Windows for Workgroups 3.11 (still my favourite of the ones that loaded on top of DOS)

After that was the usual Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP, and Vista. I had the good fortune never to have Windows ME installed on a machine I own.

Windows 7 is my favourite OS so far :)

And it's alright with me
Same! Nothing wrong with it.
Trust me. You don't know what you're missing with Windows 7. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.231817-Poll-The-Horrors-of-Windows-Vista-and-the-Wonders-of-Windows-7?page=1]

Started with DOS, I'm using XP at work, and Vista at home
I would rather be using OS-X at work, and Windows 7 at home.
I'd also like to have a decent little Linux box running at home, since Linux rocks my socks.
