If you feel like it's going to take a long while before you actually succeed in one of these ambitions you've mentioned, you should look for something else in the meantime, like (just a suggestion) history teacher. Yes, in a school.Tenmar said:Here is my problem,
I cannot find suitable employment. I have been looking for better employment for over a year now and even after countless applications, resumes, cover letters(crafted personally, by friends and family, and paid services) I have not even landed one interview EXCEPT the current job I have working for AT&T as a Sales Support Rep.
I have a B.A. in History and would like to become employed as an archivist or curator, preferably dealing with video and audio. Another career would be to work for a video game show or website because one of my other passions is video games and maybe combine my love of history with video games. Another passion of mine would be to attain my pilot's license or study the human eye to allow eyesight transfers.I know the latter two would require me to go back to school and I would not mind that at all because I know this would mean I would also be eligible for more internships.
I really do not know what to do or what steps I should take to even get the chance to become employed because most college grads I know are being forced to move back in with their parents and are making less than 20k a year(I know about 50 graduates who are in the same situation I am in). I know HIGH school graduates that are making more than that, but college students in the U.S. are getting boned when it comes to career opprotunities now.
So what do I need to do to become employed allowing me to move out of my parents place and become self-sufficient?
EDIT
To help some people here with time management or find there is just too much to do in their life I would recommend heading to this link from Carnegie Mellon University by the late Randy Pausch. He provides some great lectures.

If you have some time this is his big lecture, also very nice considering it was his LAST LECTURE.

Looking for a job as an archivist or curator might need some 3rd party help. You might want to actually contact a person who runs a high position in whatever facility you are asking for the job (museum, history research centers, etc), & hope he has some time on his hands to read your email. Just make your email concise & tell them the real reason why you want to work for them.
You can possibly find someone hiring you if you try to make a few videogame videos of your own, perhaps showing how certain fantasy elements in videogames relate to certain pieces of history, but always remember that people who watch this want humor! knowledge will just be a bonus to them. OR perhaps apply to a videogame company to work with the writers as a history specialist, so find a company that tends to make games that tend to relate with our real universe's past (Firaxis lol!).
But you simply have too many options it seems. If you prefer working in history, then keep looking & working for it. You can, perhaps, work on getting the piloting license or studies on human eyes & still look for a history-related job.
Don't let the fact that most grads are getting crap jobs. It's in fact the case with the majority of grads around the world. You have many options it seems, which so many people would be jealous of, so work on a plan & take some of them! You don't have to focus on only 1 option, you can work on the options that are open to you now while keeping track of the other options which you have been working on already!
