I saw Drag Me to Hell and some dumbass was wisecracking all the way through. He started off with a couple of mildly amusing comments that the theatre as a whole chuckled to in a way like 'ok, not bad, now please be quite'.

Then about 20 minutes into the film there is a line like "I need to get rid of this button!"

He comes up with "Why don't you sell it on EBay?"

The collective theatre has a face like this: :-/

Some guy then says "Why don't you shut the fuck up?"

That was pretty damn funny. Never had a peep off the guy for the rest of the film.

When I went to see the movie 300, every time there was a fight scene, two guys behind me would keep saying "that is so gangster" over and over again. I was with other people so I didn't say anything at first(I can get very embarrassing), but that by the end.:p

...strange, i'm sure i posted in this thread.

mine wasn't as bad as most people's mentioned on here, but it was still irritating.

i cant remember which film it was, but basically during any part where there was a buildup of suspense, one of two stupid little 12 year olds would shout out "bogeys".

they were eventually thrown out by either an usher or another audience member (i have no idea which, and i don't particularly care which.)

What is the worst experience you've ever had while at the movies?

This question crossed my mind after what happened happened to me not more than two hours ago.

Michel and I were out watching the new Adam Sandler movie Funny People. Throughout the whole movie another couple behind costantly chatting really loud and making wise cracks. Having asked them to stop multiple times and threatening call over the usher, they still continued. The suddenly I start hear the girl's phone go off followed shortly by dialing. I turn around And I see her texting with the keypad noise set on high. Then both me and Michel ask her to turn it off or we would call the usher.

The boy then decides to take the lid off his soda and dump it on my head after we had turned around. Before I knew it Michel had turned around, climbed over the seat, and had grabbed the guy by the shirt. He then threw him over the chair he had been sitting, hopped back over and started pummeling the guy. The fight then dragged on into the stairway where the two took turns exchanging blows. At one point the guy grabbed some old man's cane and smacked Michel across the face a few times with it. After the fourth hit the cane breaks and sent Michel tumbling down the steps. The man chased him down and pinned him against the wall and goves him a few hits to the face. Michel was able to then wrest free from his position and kick him to the floor and took the moment to stomp on his nuts. Once the guy had turned on his side and statrted throwing up, Michel pulled him up by his shirt collar and gave him the finishing blow.

All four of us ended up getting thrown out of the theater for it.

Although I am a devout pacifist and do not believe that violence is always the solution, I do believe that asshole got what he had coming to him.
Just... wow. What complete and utter bastards. I hope the guy you were with is okay.

I'm tall so I always, always, always get my seat kicked for most of the movie (I can't shrink down, deal with it) when I went to see Casino Royale I got heat exhaustion (it was horrible, I felt like I was dying), I made the mistake of seeing Cloverfield just after eating, oh and the absolute worst was when I saw Mamma Mia, and that was because I was watching Mamma Mia instead of The Dark Knight.

I cried.

The fact someone brought a fucking baby.
So someone in the back shouts "Why the fuck did you bring a fucking baby?!" and the mother actually said "Could you watch your language around my child!" To which pretty much everyone in the theater practically shouted in chorus "It's fucking Alien Vs. Predator!"
They left.
That's awesome!

Although I do have to wonder if she didn't just walk into the wrong theatre by mistake (Don't tell me you've NEVER done it).

I do believe my worst movie-going experience was going to see Pan's Labyrinth... on mushrooms. This happened a couple years ago (i.e. when the movie first came out). Me and a couple of friends had seen the trailers and thought it looked like a fun and cool fantasy movie. We decided going high was the best idea. Then the violence happened. Let me tell you: Bad trips are bad.

For the record I no longer use any substances. This was in a different part of my life.

Revenge OF The Fallen. I mean Max Payne was also terrible, but at least I had the foresight to know that movie was going nowhere and walk out, but I actually ROTF the benefit of the doubt that MAYBE there'd be a kewl fight at the end, but sadly all I got was a fight sequence so short that I went to facepalm at the concept of geriatric bot magically giving Optimus half his body and when I looked up from the facepalm, it was over. Although honorable mention goes to Star Trek because I went with three geeks who loved it, and to me the whole movie was nothing but cinematic masturbation.
i have to say youre absolutely right, revenge of the fallen is awful, i mean is the fights were lengethened it could be almost bearable, but they tried so hard to make EVERYTHING funny, at the expense of actually putting in a decent story or even fleshing out the new and horrible characters..

the unborn and cloverfield were two of the worst things ive seen at the cinema..

Pics or it didn't happen!
Sorry about your movie.
It is stuff like this that led me to start carrying a tranquilizer pistol with me to the Cinema.

probably when i went to epic movie (yes thats bad enough in it's self) there were these 3 really fat kids probably about 12-14 years old and one of them farted every time he laughed and unfortunatly ITS A COMEDY THAT HE FOUND HILARIOUS!

there werent many people there so i just quietly moved to a seat further back away from the smell.

Where the hell do you live where people do shit like this?

This is why I don't like to go to the movies, I go to the discount theatres and stay FAR AWAY from other people.

That's terrible.

I've never had a nightmare like the OP's story happen to me...

Worst thing is when I see the lights in people's faces of cellphones for 2/3rds of the audience.

Because when I go to a movie, to enjoy the movie, I gotta not watch it, right? :/

Ouch. When my friends and I, bunch of sporty types most of them, with a few geeks. We were sitting in small clusters near each other as getting ten seats next to each other was impossible, and we were watching the Dark Knight. We had all seen it before but there wasn't much else worth watching and we were bored.

About one third through the film this group of moronic ned bastards start yelling obscenities at us, and lobbing popcorn our way. Ignoring them with dignity, we carried on watching. This carried on for about ten minutes until I told them to shut the fuck up. They were just picking a fight with what looked like, to them, three guys a bit younger than them.

They stand up, about six or seven of them, and get in my face about starting it and swearing at them. I tell them to shove off and one of them takes a swing at me. Hits me in the chest as I wasn't expecting it, and I double over, winded. They all start laughing and one of them kicks me in the shins. I lunge forward and topple him to the ground, caught wrestling him, unable to throw a punch because we were locked.

Then my friends look round and come over... first there is Jakob. Jakob is the Terminator. He actually has a German accent. At 13 he ran the 100m in 10.9 seconds. He's pretty much an Olympian. He is also quick, muscular and very strong. He leaps over two rows of seats and collides with two guys. One he clotheslines with his arm, and the other takes a beating to the face and stomach before he even hit the floor.

Now, along the little walkways out of that screen there are these large glass screens. By now my friends are caught in a fight with guys who are older and bigger than us. Still locked with my guy, I roll on top of him and land a few punches and smash his nose. I stand up over him, unable to kick a bleeding incapacitated opponent, until he lashes out with his leg at my balls. I jumped over his leg and landed, unintentionally, on his chest. He collapses completely, as I think I broke a few ribs.

A guy who I think was his older brother charges at me, and tackles me to the floor again, this time covered with blood from the dude on the floor and my friend Harry who's lost a tooth by now. Jakob jumps over the guy on the floor and launches the guy throttling me through on of the windows. He flies a good few feet and shatters the glass, and lands in a heap near the outside wall of the screen.

Now the odds are more in our favour, and I turn round, tired and a bit shocked to see two of them take down my friend Chris, before stamping on his face. He kicks out and catches the leg of the guy near him, and he is immediately punched in the back of the head by Harry. Leaving only about four guys to nearly three times their number, they run off, and get caught at the door by security. Witnesses all back us up and say that they started it and they escalated it to strong violence.

On the way out one guy who managed to talk his way out of being fucking arrested has a go at Jakob. He catches the punch and breaks the guy's wrist, before sending him to Simon, wherein he kneed him in the gut, largely by accident.

That was a scary day. Several of my friends ended up with broken bones and two of the guys attacking us had knives on them, but for some reason didn't use them.

First time was watching Waynes World 2, sitting next to some idiot who said every single bloody line one second before the actors said it.

Second was the blind date from hell, watching Se7en, where his first line to me was "you can hold onto my arm if you get scared" (he was my karate sparring partners little brother... The date finished with a McDonalds being eaten at the local deserted train station platform - needless to say that was my first and last blind date).

Third was watching The Exorcist whilst having a stomach bug - the scene where they put a central line into the girls carotid artery finished me off, leading to a severe redecoration of my ex's clothing (he was already an ex, so I wasn't too unhappy!).

For those in the UK - I'm surprised no-one has commented on that poor woman who had bleach thrown over her after complaining about idiots when she was at the cinema with her family - http://uk.news.yahoo.com/21/20090730/tuk-woman-burned-with-bleach-after-row-6323e80.html

BTW If anyone has problems with idiots in the cinema, reporting them for filming gets them kicked out pronto, as almost everyone has a mobile which can record film - it also means that you aren't easily identified as the person who has got them into trouble (leaving at the same time as another person who is going to the toilet can help).

Seriously? I thought the movie was good, it is meant to be funny you realise(not trying to patronise)?
The problem was the juxtaposition between comedy and the film noir style, it doesn't really work for me. Also, I thought the comedy was really stupid at times. Even though I saw Transformers 2, I rate this one as my worst because the movie actually made me bang my head against the arm of my chair, no joke.

The time when some guy crapped himself. Except I was working at the cinema, and there was 45 minutes before the next show, and we don't have air conditioning. Trust me that was not a good day at work.

I am sorry to hear that my friend.

Hmm... I would have done that same thing for you. Darn shame fists where used though. and sure beats the time the girl's phone went off during the very end of the when I saw the harry potter film. There's a reason why they put they "TURN OFF YOUR PHONES" signs.

I went to see 300 a couple of days after it came out. A group of girls in the back kept talking throughout the movie.

It wasn't so bad until one of them said, "I hope they don't die."

I have never laughed so hard in a movie theater in my life.

this one time a woman yelled out loud "***** oh no you didnt just run up stairs" during a horror movie which i then realized was my sister who by the way is white and i later found out was dared to do it by her friend and yes i realize it was funny but kinda ruined the movie and was a bit embarrassing.

besides that i havent really had any bad movie going experiences just bad movies such as blair witch project or the end to the remake of planet of the apes(really id have paid good money for the directors cut of the dvd if it had only came with an alternate ending).
