"Ms Rhodes correct?" she said, acknowledging her. "Please. Call me Quinn.", raising her hands slightly in gesticulation. "Ms. Rhodes was my mom."

Karen turned back to the bracelet and spoke up. "Concerning is more like it, Ms Tanya's is being to lax with this matter, Spiritual Power and the ability's that can spring from them are not to be taken so lightly, and can be highly dangerous if not handled with care." she said, before bringing her gaze back to Quinn. "Though I can not tell if her aims are for good or ill yet. Perhaps later she will be more forth coming with answers. What of you, what are your thought on this turn of events?" she said. After a short pause she added "...also, have we met before? I'm getting the feeling we have, but I know not from where..."

Quinn couldn't help but remember her own feelings of deja vu that morning. "I'm not sure... you look a little familiar but I just moved here so I can't image where we could have met before." she said, before dismissing the feeling. She'd visited people from every corner of the world. Surely she'd just met someone similar... though that didn't explain Karen's similar feeling.

"As for Ms. Tanya, I'm with you. There's something about her... she knows too much. It's weird in all the wrong ways." She said, addressing the easier topic first. Ms. Tanya was indeed strange and she'd made her feelings on the matter no secret in the classroom.

Quinn took a bite from her salad - dripping with Italian dressing to make it at least passable - before speaking again. "So... I take it you have some idea what she was talking about with all that "Spiritual Power" stuff?"

"So... I take it you have some idea what she was talking about with all that "Spiritual Power" stuff?" Was the statement Jason heard as he approached the table where Karen and Quinn were. He had breezed through his Algebra class and already had a bit of a headache from taking in everything this morning. Spirit powers? Spiritual awareness? What the hell was going on?

Regardless, he took his tray of a burger, fries, chips and a can of Dr Pepper to the table, pulling up a chair beside Quinn. "Well, this is the first i've ever heard of Spiritual awareness, so I'm still thinking that this is either some publicity stunt or just complete bullshit." he grumbld as he sat down, wearing the SPIRIT bracelet on his wrist as he was instructed.

He looked up at the other two after taking a bite of his burger, wiping a bit of ketchup from his lips before speaking. "You're Quinn, and you're Karen, correct?" He asked them, wondering if he had gotten their names right.

Karen nodded "Quinn it is then"

"I'm not sure... you look a little familiar but I just moved here so I can't image where we could have met before." Quinn said in reply to her question "perplexing, but it's a matter we can investigate later if it becomes an issue.", Quinn then went on to voice her own concerns, it was a bit of a relief to know there was another besides her that felt there was something very wrong with this situation.

"So... I take it you have some idea what she was talking about with all that "Spiritual Power" stuff?" Quinn's question came as little surprise, after all, she'd hardly been subtle about the fact she knew something on this subject.

Before she could answer another from their home room joined them. "Well, this is the first I've ever heard of Spiritual awareness, so I'm still thinking that this is either some publicity stunt or just complete bullshit." He commented as he sat down. His stance was perfectly understandable, but it was still irksome in a way. "You're Quinn, and you're Karen, correct?" he then asked after taking a few bites of his burger. "Correct, and I can assure you, Spiritual Energy, and powers born of it do exist. Though the casual manner it is being treated is what is worrisome"

Karen then turned her attention back to the question Quinn had asked "I do" Karen said taking a sip of what smelled like cinnamon and apple tea "In ancient times my family where renowned hunters and slayer of demons. As such, I have been raised with the knowledge that 'the things that go bump in the night' are real, and that those with the ability must protect those whom do not." Karen said taking another sip "We still have the records our ancestors made detailing demon sealing, effective counter measures, and of course, an encyclopedia of know demon types, though, it's shames me to admit, I did not really believe any of it was real, I though it was all just legend till a year ago." Karen eyed the bracelet, pondering weather to put it on or not.

"Well, this is the first I've ever heard of Spiritual awareness, so I'm still thinking that this is either some publicity stunt or just complete bullshit." a voice said from behind her. Quinn turned to see Jason appear; adding his own input into the conversation. "So either he's unaware or is keeping his cards hidden." Quinn said, filing the information away. "You're Quinn, and you're Karen, correct?" he continued, receiving a nod in response.

Then Karen began to speak. Quinn couldn't confirm what she said was true of course, but then she didn't seem to have a reason to lie about it either. As she continued however, Quinn became more and more convinced she was telling the truth. "Family of demon hunters in New York" The deja vu was nearly unbearable; she thought as she nearly choked on her milk. "*cough cough* Oh... What happened a year ago? Run into a demon?" she asked, trying to regain her breathing.

"You all right?" Karen asked as Quinn choked on her milk, and she put her bracelet on, as she did the dragon tattoo on her arm began to glow a little "A thief broke in and stole some books relating to demon sealing, and containment. The books them selves where of minor value, how ever while they where trying to escape, I ended up with one of our relics on my arm, a gauntlet." Karen paused, rubbing her left arm a bit "I honestly down know why I put it on, but I did, and the thief got away because of it. The relic activated, and bound it self to me, and in case your wondering, the process was very painful, so much so I blacked out." as Karen spoke, she rolled the sleeve of her blouse back, showing the pair her now glowing Dragon tattoo more clearly "When I awoke, this was on my arm" referring to the tattoo. "While the relic has been soundly sleeping till now, the fact it activated confirmed for me the old legends about my family's armor, which means, the story's of demons have to have been true as well."

And with that, deja vu turned to memory. The night so long ago she broke into that old demon-slayer's house. The books she stole which she'd worked her way through countless times looking for anything to remove the cross. The girl who chased her, falling to the ground in pain.

And she'd hit her with a shield. "Now I just feel bad." Quinn thought, trying to remain straight faced; though how successful she was was a matter of some debate and concern. Now came the moment of worry. If she was a member of that same family, and if she had the same spiritual awareness as the rest of her family... it would only be a matter of time before she attacked. Quinn was honestly surprised Karen hadn't attacked her on sight. The first, last, and only time she'd tried to speak with the family they'd attacked her without hesitation.

With the initial fear passing; Quinn had to make a decision. On the one hand, it was pretty clear Karen was being at least partially honest with her. That deserved the same response. On the other hand, if she found out who the thief was... well she doubted she'd be able to escape a second time. Even if she did, they had her name now and they'd be able to track her back to her little apartment. Quinn faced an exceedingly rare moment in her life; a now or never decision.

Fortunately; she liked to believe she was good at those.

Clearing her throat, Quinn began to speak. "Ah... well... hm... how to... *sigh* I think I know why we have deja vu now at least. Those books... they're sitting in my apartment." she said, rather sheepishly. Before Karen could react, Quinn continued. "I came to New York around that time; tracing the history of a cross I'd found. This cross in fact." she said, pointing at the small silver rosary hanging from her neck. "It contains... well something. A demon, a monster, a boogieman... I don't know. All I knew was it wasn't very nice and somehow was connected to a family of demon hunters. I tried to talk to them about it, but the moment I approached the house they tried to cut me in half. The thing had already killed... one person-" she said, not bringing herself to mention her father out of guilt and remorse more then deceit "-and, as far as I know, the only thing keeping it contained is that someone is wearing it. So... I broke in and took some books." she said, trying to keep eye contact.

"Sorry about taking them... and the mess I made in the lobby... and hitting you with that shield thing." she finished, unsure of what else to say.

Quinn remained seated, though she was pressing her balls of her feet into the ground, ready to bolt at the first hint of violence.

Anyone who wants to join the conversation is welcome to... though it would admittedly be a rather awkward moment

Okay, so World History didn't go amazingly, wasn't bad but wasn't that good either. She really felt like she ingrained herself into her teacher's mind and not in a pleasant way. It's not like it was her fault he sat that globe on the shelf behind her head but, of course he'd see it that way, she didn't put it past him. Her other classes went better at least, until lunch time rolled around.

She didn't mind lunch, they let you wander around and do other stuff while you waited for class. She usually preferred playing soccer or messing around in the feild with a softball or something if there wasn't anyone there. It was rather calming for her most of the time, you could say that it was her happy place and you wouldn't be far off. Until she headed there though, she was content to stay near the cafeteria and eat her food with vigor. They had these pathetic looking burgers this time and fries that looked like they had been cut with a rusted knife in her opinion. At least the chips were good so she used those to swallow down the burger. She treated all cafeteria food that wasn't a sandwich, pizza, or coffee cake as just feul to be gone through as quick as possible so she was done with those bits rather quickly. She threw the fries away.

She got up and got her bag, ready to head off to the feild when she spotted some of the members of her Homeroom sitting around a table. She considered going on and just heading for her destination but ultimately found herself walking over to say hi anyways. It couldn't hurt, could it?

"So, i assume you all are talking about what happened earlier, right? Let's see...your Quinn, i know that. Your...Jason? And your...Kerry? No, Karen? Sorry, i was dead to the world until the survey bit so i couldn't remember. So, are we at the part were we talk trash about the teacher or are we on the supernatural subject?"

As she went through her next few classes, Lina tried to forget about what happened to her, but it wasn't easy.

Every so often, she would hear voices coming from people who weren't even talking. Sometimes they were talking about her, and she really had to work to keep herself from snapping back with an insult. Lina had always prided herself as some one who didn't care what people said/thought about her... But it was getting hard to do so, now that she could actually hear what people thought about her.

By the time lunch rolled around, her nerves were rather frayed, so she intended to get some food and go out to the quad to eat by herself. As she waited in line, she could hear voices above the usual lunchroom din.

Ah man! They're out of jello!

I wonder if Kelly wants to go out after school...

Is that girl gonna move or what? She's holding up the line!

Lina grit her teeth. Shut up... She grabbed her tray and began heading out. As she did, however, she passed by some of her classmates sitting together at a table and talking. Lina couldn't help but linger as she tried to listen in to the conversation...

Another of her home room showed up, this one got her name wrong, but quickly corrected her self. "So, are we at the part were we talk trash about the teacher or are we on the supernatural subject?" the girl asked.

"Among other things, yes" Karen replied, as the gauntlet formed around her arm seemingly from thin air, much to her surprise. "I though this might happen ... that fool ..." Karen said as she made a fist a few times "I'd advise caution about the bands, they do seem to do as Ms Tanya said they would, and since there's no way of telling what your ability's will be before it awakens, again, use caution." Karen said to the group, then took a deep breath, closed her eyes a moment and dispelled the gauntlet, returning her arm to normal.

She then turned to Quinn "I see, that explains that feeling of deja vu. Seems strange you'd have been attacked though, the more Spiritually aware are trained to tell the difference between a demon posing as a human or one that's possessed or one with a demonic item." Karen thought A moment "I will investigate what you said of being attacked when I have a free moment to do so, it strikes me as very odd that any of our guard would be blind to the item as the source." While Karen was certainly not pleased by this news, she was at the same time perplexed by this report of such incompetence by the guards of the estate, and if what Quinn said was true, then some one was in for a talking to.

Cody couldn't help but groan as the explanation he had been waiting for turned out to be nothing but more nonsense. Spiritual awareness? Special powers that awaken from life or death situations? How could Ms. Tanya expect them to believe that? And yet as she handed Cody a bracelet as he left the classroom he found himself taking it without a second thought. He stared at the bracelet in his hand as he walked to his first class, unsure of whether to put it on or not. "Well... What could it hurt? Guess I'll humor her just for one day." He muttered to himself, slipping the bracelet on and opening the door to his class.

Lunch finally rolled around which Cody was thankful for since he had only had a light breakfast. His classes so far were going well, though his grades had always been fairly above average so he wasn't too worried about that. And nothing crazy had happened so far which made him feel a bit foolish for wearing the bracelet.

Cody stepped into the cafeteria and one of the first things that caught his eye was a gathering of his fellow homeroom students. It would be interesting to hear what they thought of this mornings developments, though he could probably guess based on their reactions. After grabbing some food maybe he would join them. Or so he thought until a bright light flashing in the corner of his eye caught his attention. Looking down, Cody couldn't believe his eyes when he saw that his left hand was glowing with a white light!

After taking a few seconds to recover, Cody quickly shoved his hand in his pocket to hide it. He could still see a faint glow coming from his pocket but at least it was less noticeable now. A quick glance around the room showed that nobody was looking at him strangely. Hopefully that meant no one had noticed. Still he couldn't just let things stay like this. He needed to find a pair of gloves or something. It's the middle of August though, I doubt anyone will have any even if I did know someone well enough to ask. Hmmm.... The nurses office should have plenty of medical gloves I could use though. Hope no one's around though or I'll have to come up with a good excuse.

With no better options at the time, Cody quickly but calmly made his way out of the cafeteria and headed into the halls in search of the nurses office. What the hell is going on? Don't tell me this bracelet actually did something... I don't know what else could cause this but... If I have to have a crazy power then a glowing hand is pretty lame as far as they go. Cody's thoughts came to a halt as he found the nurses office. He took a quick glance around the hall to make sure no one was looking before slipping quietly inside.

Just as he had hoped, he was the only one inside. Perhaps the staff was out to lunch. Either way he didn't have much time. After opening up a few cabinets he finally found what he was looking for; a box of blue latex gloves. It would look a bit weird wearing them around like this but it would be far less suspicious than the white light his had was still emitting. And even worse, he was starting to feel tired. Like he had sprinted all the way to the nurses office even though it was just a short walk. Once he slipped the glove on his left hand he began to feel better though.

Cody let out a sigh of relief as the light seemed to go out entirely. "Better put one on my right hand too though. It'd look a little odd to only wear one of these." He muttered, grabbing some spare gloves and putting them in his pocket. As he did so he noticed a strange burning sensation in his right hand. "Oh, give me a bre-!" He stopped mid sentence upon seeing a small black flame in the palm of his right hand. It didn't hurt it was just.... hot. Before he could make any further observations he began to feel exhausted just like before. Only this time it was happening much more rapidly than before. His chest tightened as the had trouble breathing and his legs gave out from under him. This was more than just getting a little worn out. This felt like death.

Realizing he didn't have much time left, Cody fished a glove out of his pocket as quickly as his feeble arms would allow and slipped it over his right hand. The black flame vanished and Cody could feel his strength returning to him, though much more slowly than before. Now that the danger had passed, Cody spent the next few minutes on the floor catching his breath and trying to process what had just happened. I... I could have died there! What kind of sick freak would give a bunch of high school kids something so dangerous like this! If I see Ms. Tanya before the end of the day she's gonna have a lot of explaining to do. For now I really need to get out here before anyone comes in.

Having regained his strength Cody slowly got back to his feet and quietly slipped out of the nurses office, making his way to the bathroom across the hall. He could feel his face drenched in sweat and he needed to wipe it off before getting back to lunch. After washing his face off in the sink Cody took a look at himself in the mirror. He looked deathly pale, though hopefully not for long. If he went to class like this people would think he was sick for sure and the gloves wouldn't help matters any.

Even as he thought this, he could see a bit of color returning to his face thankfully. Maybe things would be alright after all. Or at least as alright as they could be given the circumstances. Now that he was starting to look a little better, Cody exited the bathroom and hurried back to the cafeteria to try and get some food before his next class. The experience had left him surprisingly famished.

Jason listened to the two rather absentmindedly, a bit lost in his own mind while they talked about something unrelated. "Well...what if she is right...What if we do all have powers...

"So, are we at the part were we talk trash about the teacher or are we on the supernatural subject?" He was snapped out of his thoughts as he heard the new voice, looking up to see Gail at their table now. "Oh, Hey Gail. Well, I don't know what to think of all this really, It just seems so sudden that we're all suddenly selected out of everyone here to have superpowers or some shit. I don't understand it all." he muttered, seemingly frustrated by everything. He took a bunch of fries and dunked them into a puddle of ketchup, mopping it up before chomping down on them. "I meam...wha doff she fink we're gonna believe?" he said through a mouthful.

He swallowed and then took a look down at the bracelet on his wrist, sighing a bit before noticing something out of the corner of his eye. His scar on his forearm was glowing blue, like, TRON blue. Startled, the boy staggered back out of his seat, losing balance and landing on his back on the floor with a thud. "OW!" he grunted, getting back up and showing his glowing arm to the others. "Wha-what the hell!?" he said in a hushed tone, keeping his panic controlled as to not cause a scene. "My..my arm's glowing!" He stammered out to them, trying to cover it up with his other arm while looking around for something to cover it up with.

'So...i see a glove-thingy appear out of thin air and more talk of demons amongst my classmates now...i don't remember going down a rabbit hole today so either i've gone insane, in which case i might as well play along or reality as i know it was dragged behind the house and shot.', Gail thought to herself, trying to decide which one of the two choices it was before realizing that it didn't matter. Either way, she'd still have to go along with it since she could break her mind further if she was crazy and tried to cure herself in the former while the latter wouldn't care how much she whined that this made no sense with the world as presented to her, it would keep revolving anyways. Still, she thought she should take Karen's advice, skewed to her own perspective of course.

"I'm more surprised that you can eat those fries, they taste horrible. Still, i can understand what you mean, this goes all against what reality and science has taught us..." She said to Jason as he swallowed his fries.

She then turned to Karen, saying, "Alright, i'll be wary...i'm headed to the soccer field anyways," not hearing Jason cry out. "Nobody should be up there yet so if any spiritual mumbo jumbo happens then nobody will be hurt."

She turned back to Jason to say bye but instead saw him on the ground, clutching his now glowing arm. Panicking and not seeing anything else around, Gail tossed him her bag to cover his arm with, saying, "Abt-Here!". It was a decent sized messenger bag, wide enough, she figured, to hold his arm and hide the glow.

He had let the bracelet stay on for most of the day, barring a few times where the pull to use its apparent energies was too much and he had to disengage. How had Saiga described it? An amorphous void, something that tries to take in what it feels to give itself shape and define it? Something like that. Sounded complicated. So why was it just that dark samurai? Something taken from the shadow? Hard to say, but somehow he felt this was true. He knew nothing about the function of spiritual powers, save for what he learned in a single conversation. In short, a drop in the bucket. This bracelet was feeding him...and when it reached a certain point, it felt more-inclined to release than even at a stray thought. That's why it bothered him that he was never trained. Saiga could have at least helped him contain it, but instead chose the sink-or-swim option. THIS was how she paid a supposed debt?!

Oh, who am I kidding? She didn't anticipate this...and I'm the one tempting fate by trying it out. But why? Why in the hell is this teacher so keenly into it? What is her goal?

Ms. Tanya concerned her, as he went through his other classes with approximately nil interest, yet because it was the first day...none-too-terrible consequences. He'd been asked a couple times by peers about the bracelet. He told them it was just something he picked up from a petition somewhere. Shiro made his way to lunch and immediately noticed some of his fellow homeroomers. As he got his lunch, he strained to hear what they were talking about, and then just resolved to listen in quickly from a nearby table. He wanted to know their opinions about this before he said anything. It was sound advice for him to not attract attention, as the nature of his power was hardly subtle. In fact, it was such that if anyone was looking for the sudden spike of spirit energy one particular night, they would be informed of his alter-ego, not a human. Finally, they came to a story...

"I'd advise caution about the bands, they do seem to do as Ms Tanya said they would, and since there's no way of telling what your ability's will be before it awakens, again, use caution."

Here is where Shiro spoke up for the first time.

"I already knew, but I was told not to reveal it until necessary. This teacher is exposing us. It's possible that she's actually dangerous, though I can't prove that. All I can say for sure is that she's gone to alot of trouble, and we may have to defend ourselves if the reason isn't good."

He was speaking in a serious voice, one with much stronger overtones than in the classroom or ANY classroom that any of them had seen him in. He didn't want to seem like the group crazy with rampant paranoia, but he had no reason to believe that Ms. Tanya was altruistic until she made good on some credentials they could trust. It really wasn't good that he could have accidentally changed into a demon samurai in class. Not good at all.

Lina was thinking about moving somewhere else, but as she briefly glanced over to the table, she did a double take despite herself. One of the guys - What was his name? Jason, that was it - was staring at his hand, which was glowing A nearby girl was trying to cover it up, and it was a wonder no one else had seen it.

Swallowing her pride, Lina stepped over to the table. "Am I interrupting anything?"

"Am I interrupting anything?" Lina said, joining the conversation. Suddenly, the little conversation had nearly three-quarters of their homeroom involved. Not that this was a huge number given the small size of their class, but it was still a bit impressive all things considered. What more, now at least three people had "awakened" or whatever it was the bracelets exactly did.

Clearly Ms. Tanya was up to something, and Quinn wanted to know what it was.

"Not at all." she said, turning to Lina and opening up a space for her to pull a chair in if she liked. At the same time, she made a motion for Gail to remain - if only for a few more seconds. Having one more person couldn't hurt. "So I think between Karen and Jason's arms, the question of "spirit powers" has been effectively settled." she said, taking a break to take another sip of her milk before continuing. "As Shiro here put it, we still don't know what "Ms. Tanya" is up to and I for one don't like the idea of just waiting and hoping she tells us. If this is dangerous, I want to find out on my terms; not hers."

From there, Quinn remained silent, giving everyone a chance to process her words. "So... any ideas? The only one I've got involves breaking into her office and stealing her books which, I can personally attest, didn't work out in my favor." she said, shooting a knowing glance back at Karen.

"Oh, and speaking of the books; I've got them back at my apartment if you'd like them back." she added to Karen; it only seemed the right thing to do.

Brian spent the first half of the day in what some could call a trance. His feet walked him to his classes, his ears heard lectures, his fingers even jotted down notes, but his mind was elsewhere. It was thinking about what Ms. Tanya had said, about spiritual awareness and the supernatural. It all seemed so surreal and...fantastic.

Throughout the day, Brian tried to keep his mind off it, but the bracelet certainly didn't help him forget. The closest thing that kept his mind off of Ms. Tanya's words was his story, but even that didn't completely block out his confusion and intrigue.

Sitting alone in the cafeteria, Brian continued his story, absentmindedly putting food in his mouth whenever the mood struck him. However, he began to grow frustrated as he continued writing, unable to focus on what he was doing.

The Shadow's attacks slowed as the people of the town grew to become aware that something that couldn't be explained was preying on them. Some of the townsfolk had even resorted to calling on psychics, sages, and other who believed themselves to be of mystical persuasion. The Shadow could feel that his presence was being felt out, and that he would soon be...

"What's that word?" Brian mumbled aloud, too quiet for anyone to hear over the din of the cafeteria. "Bound? No, that doesn't make sense..." Gnawing on a spoonful of corn, Brian caught a glance of the "spirit" bracelet. "What the hell was that teacher talking about? Wouldn't there be a lot more to see than ink on paper if I was 'spiritual aware'? Is that why-?"

"No!" Brian almost bit his tongue when he snapped himself back to reality. "Focus on the word, what's a good word?" Now more frustrated, Brian just decided to write something to keep going. "The Shadow's weakness is light, so..." Brian pressed his pen hard against his paper and finally put the last word:

...scorched.

Once he had finished writing the word, the ink that made it up began to grow, and a trail of smoke began to float up from the paper. Then, the glowing ink became like fire, blackening the paper at it spread across its surface. "No!" Brian, afraid that the burning would spread to the rest of the papers and ruin his work, yelled as he stood up from his table and ripped the burning paper from his binder. Then, the paper disintegrated, leaving nothing behind but an astonished Brian and a smokey smell wafting throughout the cafeteria.

Jason's arm lighting up had caused Karen to get up and check on him, Shiro voicing his concerns, while Quinn repeated hers, though incorrectly lumped her gauntlet in with what ever power was awakening in Jason, though, that didn't matter at the moment. "As haphazard as she's been it wouldn't surprise me if there is something she's left laying about, I would however, like to not be branded a thief. I do have my family's name to think of after all." Karen's gaze drifting to the bracelet "Besides, I think we have all we need in the bracelet, I believe it has the answers we seek"

Lina was pleasantly surprised when Quinn replied, "Not at all." and pulled out a chair for her. Gratefully, she sat down and listened to the others talking.

Quinn's comments about Ms. Tanya made her think about what their teacher really had planned for them. The other girl, Karen added, "Besides, I think we have all we need in the bracelet, I believe it has the answers we seek."

Lina blinked. " Yeah, come to think about it, soon after I put this thing down, I started hearing people's thoughts..."

"Well," Gail spoke up, turning her gaze from Jason for a moment and focusing on Quinn, "Right now, the most important thing thing in my mind is helping Jason hide his arm so you'll have to excuse me from this conversation. You all figure out what to do about the teacher, i'll be doing damage control, especially since my own ability hasn't appeared yet."

She then turned back to Jason. She really didn't want to touch his arm due to her not knowing if it was dangerous or not and not wanting to use herself to find out. Still, she felt like she had to do something, even after tossing her bag to him.

"Alright, come on." She said, deciding to try to get him up. "The more you freak out, the more people will notice so just roll with the punches and cover your arm up. Just use my bag..."

Damage control was for the best, as they could not let themselves be noticed After listening to them for a little while, mostly eating his lunch and nodding at important points, Shiro had more to say.

"If you take the bracelet off for a moment, the power ramps back down again and you can probably hold it down better once it's back on. I tried this a few times, just to be sure. They aren't harmful, just troublesome."

Here, he turned to face Lina now, having heard what she said about hearing thoughts. They'd been calling for some kind of a plan. Well, there wasn't anything he could think of for right this second, but he had the idea that there was something they could do when they saw Ms. Tanya again.

"Would you do me a favor and try to really listen for Ms. Tanya's thoughts when she's around? If we can learn her intentions, or even get an idea of her character, we can do something about it. If anything seems wrong, say the word 'Shokune' and I'll do the rest."

A bold plan. Shiro didn't know what any of this was about, but he had some really bad suspicions about this. If Lina agreed to do as he asked, he would attack the very second she called him by his alter-ego.
