Lisa climbed in and said a greeting to Alan and Dewey. The feeling inside made her slightly claustrophobic but smiled non-the-less. She moved so that Jacobs could climb in next before taking a seat and crossing her legs.

Jack sent a leaper to silently follow the APC from a safe distance. Kaufman wasn't in the base, and Jack was going to find him no matter what it took. Once Jack found Kaufman, he would know where those notes were, one way or another.

He had the scorcher teleport him back to the city for the time being. He would set up in the Police HQ and City Hall which he had swarmed with zombies again. The city would be his exclusive domain, heavily guarded and completely impenetrable.

"Alright then, le's get on the road," Dewey said, getting the map from Alan and looking over it for a few moments. He turned on the engine and started to drive away, following the forest line.
There was a long silence, everybody not wanting to break it. Finally Jacobs spoke up, "Sooo...we have supplies and stuff. We should be okay."
"Maybe. This fucking sucks though," Alan replied, looking at the boxes of supplies and equipment they had in the back.

Kaufman awoke, buried under the rubble of his destroyed office at the base. He noted that his hand was sprained as he pushed his way out of the debris. He looked around the destroyed base, coughing a few times from the smoke that was still in the air. He walked around and finished off the few remaining zombies before sitting down and putting his face into his hands.

Jack had payed specific attention to the base after it had been destroyed in case Kaufman had come back. When he stopped hearing any voices inside his mind from the area he sent in a few leapers to scout out what had happened, and what he saw made him very excited. He had the scorcher immediately teleport him back to the base, to meet up with the survivor of the destruction. He and the scorcher walked through smoke to head towards Kaufman. Jack laughed as he walked ever closer to Kaufman.

Lisa leant with her head in her hand, still looking pensive. She was still in disbelief about how quickly things had turned.
"To say the least." She added with a sigh before folding her arms.
"So where are we going to go now?"

Christie swore multiple times when she saw the base, burned to the ground. She drove through the smoke, looking for any sign of life. Instead she saw death. and his body guard.

Jack noticed Christie and immediately had the leapers he had used to scout out the area surround him and called in for more. He had no clue what to expexct and wasn't about to take chances. He wasn't going to run and let Kaufman escape though, that was out of the question.

"Not goin' to tell you. It's best if no one knows i' by name, just that it's safe an' out of the way enough that we should be safe t'ere," Dewey replied to Lisa, taking a look at the map as they crossed under a bridge.
"Well knowing our luck," Adries replied with a sigh, leaning her head against the side.

Kaufman heard footsteps walking towards him, but he didn't bother to look up until they stopped. He took off his glasses to rub his eyes before putting them back on and looking up at Jack. He glanced in Christie's direction before turning back to Jack.

"We managed less than one day. One day, where everything was okay. and we were at ease." Lisa muttered to no one in particular, sitting up.

She stopped a few feet away from him and the scorcher. The snarling leapers guarded him. Christie got out of the car, noticing that Kaufman was on the ground near them.
"You can't even have a conversation without your guards, Jack? You became a coward after you changed." She spoke, taking a few steps forward, watching the leapers.

"I warned you Kaufman, but you were too much of a Bixler for your own good. I told you that cryo rounds wouldn't do a damn thing but you were cocky. You now have to reap what you sow general, and that will be the loss of your entire army. Eventually that will be the loss of humanity, and your savior's notes." Jack said calmly as he had all the leapers face Christie. He then looked over himself.

"Riling me up won't work Christie. A smart leader does not go out alone, I know how valuable a target I am now, so I will make sure I am never alone. It isn't cowardice, just knowing my own vulnerability and making sure to mask it properly. Besides if what you say is true about me being a coward, then every leader in the history of man and animal alike is a coward, and I can quiet easily deal with that." He said simply to her before turning back to Kaufman.

((Letting you guys know that I'll be having friends over in a bit so I might not post as quickly as normal.))

Kaufman stood up slowly, dusting off his jacket. He turned to Christie, "Bailey, it would not be a good idea right now to do anything...dangerous. Just stand back for now, I'd rather not lose anyone else today."
He turned to Jack, "Yes well, that seems to be the case. It also seems that you were the one who caused this attack. I'm now starting to wonder how you got out and became like this. But, I believe that is either something I will find out later or may never find out. I guess that depends on what happens here. So, Jack. What are we going to do now?"

"One day? Really? It was only one!? Goddamit! Is this all we can look forward to!? One day of safety before more shit hits the fan!?" Adries asked, punching the side of the vehicle.
"Whoah, hey there miss. No hittin' this baby, please? This will keep us alive," Dewey told her, stroking the APC lovingly.

Christie scowled but stood back. She rested her hand on the pistol in her holder only in case one of the leapers decided to jump. She paced while she watched the scene, working out possible scenarios in her mind.

"...Adries. This is the worst things have gotten. Things can only get better. Not much better but better. We've gotten this far and we're still kicking, isn't that some kind of sign...? That there's something better waiting?" Lisa struggled after a few moments of silence, flinching at Adries' punch.

"You could ask Christie and find out right now if you want. I'm here simply to deliver a declaration of war on behalf of my own. The Bixler family will be gone from this Earth, and a new dawn will come of it. I do have some unresolved questions though, so I want you to tell me where those notes are, and there are two ways to do so. You simply tell me and I kill you quickly, or you can remain as tight lipped as your family would have it and I just infect you and take what I want anyway. Either way that information will be mine and I will have your life. Maybe I'll even spare you if you tell me and our game can continue a bit longer. It's up to you really." Jack replied in a completely neutral tone.

"And you can take your hand off of that pistol Christie, my leapers are simply insurance. As long as you keep a cool head and don't try anything funny nothing will happen. I also suggest you stop pacing, I can feel the leapers nervousness at your actions. The zombies are much smarter and perceptive than you humans give credit for. Their only weakness was the fact they were disorganized, and that situation has just been rectified."

"Yeah you're right. I mean, it's not like things could get any worse," Adries said with a chuckle.
"Sis, you're not immune," Alan said abruptly.
"...Oh well. I guess now things can't get any worse," Adries said quietly, trying to deal with what she had feared but didn't know for a fact.

Kaufman was silent for a moment, contemplating what his choice would be. He spoke up after a few moments, "Well. I'm not really sure why you would turn to this. But I assume you have a reason. I don't want to know how you became like this, I don't. I will say that you will not get any info from me. I'm very much still on the human side, and giving you this information would basically treacherous. So I'm sorry for that. Bailey, I would love to tell you where you can find your sister but I don't think I will have the chance.
And as for you Jack, I know that the humans will be victorious in the end! Farewell."
He quickly brought out his DEagle and put it against his temple before pulling the trigger, his head splattered like a watermelon being dropped on the street (my friend wanted me to write that).

((That took awhile. Sorry.))

"Yes general farewell. I wish you could know how many men and women you have killed with that last error in judgment. Rather than stopping me you have just made it so I need to burn five more bases to the ground. The first of the remaining five should be under attack right about...now." Jack said as a loud roar and explosion could be heard in the distance.

"I can't believe it...," Lisa muttered, glancing between Alan and Adries.
"But i thought all blood-related Bixlers were immune? How is that even possible?"

Christie brought a hand to her mouth and turned away. The explosion made her jump.
"Fuck!" She scorned in both disgust and irritation at what had happened in such a short period of time. She turned back to Jack with a glare.
"What now then? He knew where your notes were, are you just going to spend the rest for your existence killing the military, eventually degrading into anything that looks at you funny when there's nothing left? That's all you've got without someone who doesn't know the location. He also probably knew where the Bixlers were..."

"Well...I don't know. But...you guys said that Arthur had turned infected, so it's not out of the question," Alan said, trying to come up with an adequate reason, "Honestly I just don't know."
"Well, now you'll have to be more careful," Albert said as he gave Adries a hug.
"Yeah. Well. I guess it's good to know," Adries replied, calming down after the initial shock.
"Guys I advise ya' maybe try to get some sleep or somethin'. It's gonna take awhile to get to our destination," Dewey interjected.
"Do you think the Captain will be back from his mission then?" Jacobs asked.
"Who knows. I'd think he's a already done and is making his way to where we're goin' as of now. He did go and start it yesterday..." Dewey responded.

"It's only kill the military, in fact I'd rather evolve the world than kill it. I know enough to where I know the notes haven't left the area and is in the hands of the military. I just have to upturn every base in the area until those notes are found, in fact, the destruction of those bases is more important than the notes. The notes are more a personal matter, I want to know the history of what created me, nothing more.

On the Bixler front I am returning even more prosperous than on the destruction of those bases. I currently have a leaper following an APC from a safe distance and remaining utterly silent, it is currently following the Bixlers and your sister. Though I do hope Alan doesn't listen to your sister, then I will have free range to kill him. You see, I made a deal with her, she gets to keep those close to her alive while she and her group remain out of my way. The deal is broken the second they I deem them to be a threat to the coming evolution or myself. Alan is already on the border, but I believe in grace periods, so I will give Lisa a chance to convince him before I kill him." Jack blandly replied.

"You aren't on Lisa's list, but I do hope to have you as an ally in this war against the Bixlers."

"You've managed to keep yourself healthy in spite of not being immune since the beginning. If we keep up with what little luck we've had, you'll be fine. We'll make sure." Lisa said surely, considering the idea of sleep. She leant against the vehicle, deciding that she didn't want to yet.

"...You sap. Giving her such a deal." Christie joked with a short laugh, she'd stopped pacing at this point and thought about options, "Well, I'm hardly surprised i wasn't put on her grace list. Alright, If I join you, what good would i be anyway? You forget that i don't want to 'evolve' willingly yet and i don't have any kind of power your new friends have. "

"But you do, you are uninfected. You would be the perfect spy and assassin, you have killed and left little to no trace. If anyone can infiltrate and report back without being infected its you. You are also not bound by our deal like I am, you are a rogue element. If you were to kill Alan, I would not have broken my deal, and he would be dead. I can see a multitude of uses for someone of your talents, ones that won't be a waste of them. If you were on our side, this war could go so much quicker and with more infections than deaths." Jack replied before laughing a little at the joke.

"And perhaps I am a sap, but I always was."

Adries nodded a few times, deciding that taking a nap would be a good idea. She leaned back in her seat, closing her eyes and trying to relax.

Dewey and Jacobs were looking over the map, trying to figure exactly how long it would take to get there. They figured they'd get there at night.
"We'll do a quick run through incase of any infected then we'll move in," Jacobs said.
"Soun's good. We shouldn' unload everythin' though, case we have to escape," Dewey replied.
