    Best soundtrack in a game?

The Witcher soundtrack impressed me greatly. Very nice celtic style music which works marvellously well with the game. Here are a couple of peaceful scores for good ambience.

How could they screw this up??? Favorite game series that just went to hell.

Have one that I think no one mentioned yet: Alien vs Predator. The first one was quite original and absolutely horrifying. Playing as an alien was goddamn awesome and took more than a little time to master, but once you got used to the lightening fast speed and wall running, you were almost...

S.T.A.L.K.E.R - How scary is it?

Personally, I wouldn't call Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl a horror game at all. It is a semi-realistic (as in: you have real-life guns and die fast) post-apocalyptic FPS first and foremost. What it is, however, is an extremely atmospheric game. It's fairly psychological in its approach, in that...

What should my first alcohol purchase be?

Like a few people already mentioned, you can't really go wrong with rum and coke. That goes down pretty easy. I little bit too easy sometimes and it's a little too sweet for me... Something that I like and that's more refreshing is gin with grape tonic. Don't mix too much gin in it though or...

*SPOILERS* question for those who have played BFBC2 *SPOILERS*

I never played BFBC 1 since that was a console only release so I can't say how it compares. BFBC 2 single player seems to be rather short, though. Some people claims to have finished the single player campaign in under 10 hours. I started off on hard for my first play-through and given my...

    Whos Your Favorite Director?

In before someone else mentions him: Ridley Scott. Motivation: Alien, Blade Runner and Gladiator. Pure visual poetry.

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl: Worth buying?

Sorry. My mistake. There is an indicator of UAC in the Security Center, but the option to turn it off is under "User Accounts". Official M$ knowledge base here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Turn-User-Account-Control-on-or-off

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl: Worth buying?

Pretty much. You can turn it off from the "Security Center" in the control panel. Windows will ***** and whine about it (being insecure and such) but I wouldn't be too worried. (Unless you know you have spyware on your comp already.) This thing didn't exist in XP and we all lived to tell the...

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl: Worth buying?

Hm. Stalker tries to store its setting and saves in a folder under Users (on Vista) something like STALKER-SHOC under "All Users" unless I'm mistaken. There must be an issue with write permissions to that folder. Try turning off UAC in Vista to see if that help. If it helps, then try turning it...

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl: Worth buying?

Well, if it says it's up to date, then I guess it is. The correct version should be 1.0005 or 1.0006. (1.0006 only contains a few multiplayer fixes)

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl: Worth buying?

That's strange. I never has that problem. Vista UAC issue maybe?

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl: Worth buying?

STALKER SoC is totally, totally worth it. That's what I'm playing at the moment, and I've had the game for at least a year. If you get it, get the official patch and then the STALKER Complete 2009 mod: http://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-complete-2009/ This mod doesn't change the basic game...

    Oblivion Mod Suggestions

Poll: So im thinking of getting a S.T.A.L.K.E.R game

I'll put my vote on SoC as well. It won the GameSpot special award for Best Atmosphere in 2007 and it greatly deserves it. I find it comparable to System Shock and BioShock in terms of atmosphere (i.e. the best of them). Besides, I find it easier to pick up a newer game after an older...
