Oh, you got to be kidding me. People raised in other countries and educated by other countries' educational system are definitely not a "Cream of the crop in the US of A".

Russia:

Chekhov
Mendeleev
Tchaikovsky
Tchaikovsky isn't Russian... It pisses me off when people say that.

I think I'll take Sweden:

Alfred Nobel
Cornelis Vreeswijk
Eva Dahlgren

There are so many that should be up here, Sweden is like a utopia of intellectuals and cultural people :) Not perfect! But close...
Close but no cigar.

Alfred Nobel
Anders Celsius
Carl von Linné

1-Paul Hogan

2-Hugh Jackman

3-Sam Worthington

All Australian, all awesome. And unfortunately there are more than three members of AC/DC so someone would've felt left out.

I do sincerely hope you were being ironic.

Though Benjamin Franklin is a good 'un

Mine?

UK:

1.Thomas Paine
2.Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington
3.Stephen Hawkings

A cookie for why anyone can tell me Thomas Paine is the greatest ever Englishman WITHOUT using the internet
Didn't he write two books one pre revolutionary and then one during the revolutionary? The first one made alot of people turn from Loyalist to Patriots while the other was a moral boost during the war.

EDIT and i was too late.

I was going to say that. None of those are actually American; Einstein was German, Tesla was Croat, von Braun was also German, Ben Franklin was English.

Strangely enough, Angus and Malcolm are Scottish, Bon was too, Brian is English, and so is Cliff. Phil is the only one originally from Australia.

China
1. Sun Tzu - philosopher wrote The Art of War
2. Cai Lun - regarded as the inventor of modern styles of paper
3. Chow Yun-Fat
Lets face it - you could have just put a random series of Chungs and Lis together and everyone would think it was a famous chinese person. The only one I recognize is Sun Tzu, and thats because one of his quotes appear on CoD4 when yer die...

Out of a matter of interet, what did Chow Yun-Fat do?

My three picks are from Great Britain.
...which isn't a country.
Actually, Great Britain is the traditional short form for 'the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland' and is, therefore, a country.

OT: England
Sir Isaac Newton (Perhaps the greatest mathematician who ever lived)
Richard Dawkins (Esteemed biologist and condemner of religion)
Professor Tim Berners-Lee (inventor of the world-wide-web)
