Ausfag here, and if fox news is trying to insinuate that we would all enjoy having our health care americana style then they are laughably, laughably wrong.
Yet the mutated idiots that regularly watch Fox "Bullshit" News eat it all up like biscuits and honey.

I don't think so. It is FREE health care, they're free not to use it, I just hope they remember that if they get wheeled into an ICU theater and about to kick the bucket. There are no 'sign here stops' when you are on the way to the cutting board in the UK.

the NHS is in a pretty bad place right now, but thatsmainly down to too little funding, shoddy administration, a lack of staff, and individual people being so greedy and shit thick when they use it; my mum is an NHS nurse, and she was there when some hypochondriac called out an ambulance for a sore throat, then had the cheek to demand money for a lift home

In Britain we like to moan so i'm not surprised that people grumble about waiting times and what have you. But fundamentally alot of people are greatful towards our health care system especially as it will try to treat everyone and not go on ooo who's most probably going to survive. To be honest i like our system of health it insures that you will get treated even if your poor, i don't have to worry about paying for insurance or treatment. In Britain we have both private and a national health service is people don't like the NHS then theres an option to go private.

Fox? You honestly consider them a reliable news source?
Come on people read my entire post. I said I know this is bullshit, the Fox example was just a catalyst to ask the bigger question of what members of the international community think about the American media and if they are satisfied with their health care.
Yeah that was a bit knee-jerky of me I apologize.

This is nothing compared to the issues going on in emergency rooms all over America. Want to see scary? Research how in most cites like LA and Chicago the ER's are so over flowed with people that have no health(yet user ER's for their primary source of care) that the ambulances are being turned away and have to drive miles to find another ER to go to. This is no joke and it actually getting worse. This means that even people with real health care are dying because they can't get to an ER. This does not happen once in a while either as it is happening more and more often. Anyone who denies it in America is either delusional or is ignorant of the deep shit we are all in.

Which is exactly how Obama's plan will work. But all those screaming morons you see on the news don't seem to want to listen to the facts.

You don't have to make up the statistics; you can get whatever result you want by asking the right questions...

America is 37th on the World Health Organisation's list

France is no 1.

America spends twice much as certain countries from 1-36.

Stop watching Fox news, face up to facts and don't let idiots ruin your country.

Not slamming democracy, but there are times when it fails.

Honestly 70% of the English probably hate or complain bitterly about 70% of everything. So that's not really a surprising statistic to me. (I kid!)
This^!!

Also, "There are lies, damn lies and statistics" once said Benjamin Disraeli, and what he said is damn true. Sure, the healthcare systems of the rest of the civilised world aren't perfect, and you will hear Brit's, aussies, canadians and the French etc complaining about their respective healthcare, that does not mean we want to radically overhaul the whole system and privatise everything.

You speak to much truth for the watchers of Fox News to handle. Most Americans have an idea of what you are saying or outright know it for the truth. It is just that the loud and vocal are getting the air time and making the most noise. I guess they figure if they scream like children loud enough they will get their way. It is really embarrassing really.

Yeah, I think that's definately bollocks. Almost everyone isn't 100% satisfied with the system, but we're happy to have it as opposed to an insurance-based one.

Fox doesn't LIKE National Health Services, I'm just surprised they can lie barefaced about it.

Oh don't be surprised. They lie all the time. It is their job. They lie wrapped in some truths so it all looks good. Like that crap about Obama really being African. They really love that one too. It really goes on and on. Rush Limbaugh is another American source of sewage.

In UK we have a quite alright health care system but anyway, how would FOX news, an American news station know about it??

I think fox pulled some fine wordplay considering that the population of these countries are vastly different, all that is needed is for a big one like germany to dislike it and the number of people disliking their healthcare from % of their combined population skyrockets.

Taking fox news seriously was your first mistake.

They don't. They are just lying about it to try and back up their point against the evils of socialized health care.

You don't have to make up the statistics; you can get whatever result you want by asking the right questions...
Or by asking the right people - I bet they found a group in each of the countries that is aiming for a reform of the healthcare system and asking their members to get this result.

70% of people may say they're not completely happy with their healthcare, but I bet if you told those people their healthcare was going to be privatised you'd hear the scream from the moon. Or whatever other planet the people at Fox News are living on.

Speaking on British healthcare; its not perfect but at least I know that if I end up on the business end of a speeding car I won't wake up in hospital with a bill. To be quite honest I'm proud of our healthcare -- Its free if you need it with the option to go private if desired.

It boggles my mind to think that they are people who think thats a bad idea.
