Oh boy, that's a good one.

There are a lot of adults that go on Escapist (like me, if you count 21 as adult) but the majority of them are teenagers.

There are adults here. This I know for fact.

Hah.

Hahahahahahahahaha.

Hah.
sure some of the teens here are not very mature (for example: probably the ones that yell out FIRST!) but the majority of teens here are mature.

I know a lot of teens in real life who are my friends, and they are very mature.

I'm 25, and this place makes me feel very old. I got a wife, two kids, a house and a career.

Hey kiddos, enjoy it while it lasts. For real.

The only thing I can understand from this situation is that it has been soaked in irony.
I just loooove irony.

And yeah, look at the Escapism threads. Most of who go there are adults.

Ah, jesus....
Listen to me, I am getting fed up of being bloody flamed for that bloody post.
I do think that some of the teenagers on here are far more mature then other people my age I've talked to and if you think that's funny or something to laugh at then it's you who is immature!
Settle down. I wasn't intending to flame.

Well, I turned 21 recently. But unfortunately I have two credits to finish up before I can get my high school diploma (illness has prevented me from finishing), as a result I'm also unemployed at the moment so that I can finish school, which means I don't have enough money for a place of my own (trust me, you have no idea how badly I want to move away. My next door neighbours are driving me nuts!).

Does this mean I'm still a 'kid' despite the fact that I have all of the privileges other adults have?

Early 20's here, no house of my own (working on a deposit) but the whole job/relationship thing is down.

How can 18 have been so recent and yet feel so far away?!

Right here! I have a baby, a mortgage, and all the responsibilities that come with it. :)
I've gotta be honest- I had to read this twice. The first time I skimmed over it and I would have bet money you said you had a baby, a montage, and all the responsibilities that came with it.

....Oh well....

There are some of us here, although I personally am feeling a little bit like a manchild for still coming to a forum where there are billions of threads asking how a guy can force a girl to like him without ever actually interacting with her and where I once saw a post that read, I shit you not, "my parents can be such noobs when it comes to computers."

But I guess I'll stick around until I find something better.
There isn't much better. I grew out of forums and chat rooms and the like right around the time I joined the military. The fact that even with this forum dominated by children you can still find a large number of quality posts and topics is the reason I keep coming back.

Well that and total boredom from time to time.

For the OP I am 27 and I run a modestly successful business. I have a college education, and I served in the military.

Yup, adults exist. The escapist isn't neverland, no matter how awesome it is.

At nearly 33, I'm adult enough, but I tell you I have my doubts hanging out with these wacky kids sometimes. ;)

Yet another adult here, if you count being in your fourth decade as qualifying. (Also, no kids, but yes, credit cards and separate home and all that.) But the first reason for me to join these forums was that I saw the level of discourse here was rather mature, anyway, no matter the age demographics...
