I'm new here and have only been posting for a few days. Today I checked out a few profiles and noticed most of the people here are in their teens. Now I'm starting to feel like a weirdo for being here. Are there any grown-ups here? (By grown-up I mean independent, living apart from your parents, credit cards, keys, the whole shebang.)
Yup i'm 33, living on my own & work for a living :)

I'm 24, work full time, and go to school full time. How I ever find time to post here is beyond me.

I'm 21, got my own apartment, have a job, handles everything myself (cause my GF thinks i'm sexist when i demand that she cleans my appartment, do my laundry and cooks for me *rolls eyes* :p)
I've got a credit card, i can manage my money even though they're sparse (due to school)
I dunno if i feel "adult though" I still find the idea of children scary as hell.

I would consider myself an adult. I'm still in college but I pay my own bills and all that jazz.

So because I live with my parents the last 21 years are void for me?

I don't see the humour, I said I think we are more mature then most other people our age.
Yeah, so did I when I was a kid. It's part of being a kid. Thinking you're more mature or smarter than you actually are until you go out and get *****-slapped by reality.

You'll figure it out after making some real mistakes, and you'll realize that no matter how smart you think you are, you're just as ill prepared as everyone else at life.
Generally it's that *****-slap that makes us different.
Actually if it weren't for the escapist i'd be the same as them.

I'm not any better than them... Most of them, but I understand how screwed up life is and am prepared to fight that...

So you make someone else miserable for something that happened to you? And you WONDER why you get flamed?
Can you give it a rest? This is going off the topic of the thread, so just leave it alone now.
Claimed to be mature, then threw his toys out of the pram. Whether or not you want it to stop, you must admit the irony is delicious.

Given the economy, it's harder today to be a traditional "adult", but legally I am an adult. However I'm far from mature.

I cannot admit to anything, as I fail to see what you are talking about, but surely you can see that everything is going off topic.

Good ole' 24 here... Spent 4 years in the service, playing Army.. then ended up back home again.. Trying for that ever elusive college degree, I live in my pops house, though he doesn't live here anymore.. Adult yes, independent no. Oh and I have the oh-so wonderful car payment, and every other damn bill that comes along with owning a vehicle.. gah.. ENJOY being a kid I say. You only get one shot at it.

Geez, I feel old in this place sometimes (and in relating to most of the newer gamers). I'm 25 and I still can't believe the looks of befuddlement I get when I mention "Pitfall Harry", or mention "Master Chu and the Drunkard Huu", or when I try to tell youngsters about the glory days of Sierra point and click games.

I suddenly know how Roger Wilco must feel.

Police Quest FTW! And King's Quest too, but not as much.

Yeah, I guess I qualify as an adult in the OP-sense.
But aren't we all children at heart or something?
