Well, legally I am an adult (although I'm sure I'm not the only one who's been paying adult fares for things since they were 15/16, so what does 'adult' really mean anyway?) but I agree with everyone who says age isn't important.
The internet is a wonderful thing were we are all reduced to just the words we speak and peoples opinions of us are not tainted by our country of origin, religious believes et cetera, et cetera. If we're all on a level playing field, I don't think it matters what age anyone is. If we've got a opinion, we have the means to express it without worrying about social stigmas such as those surounding age.

As I'm sure has been said somewhere in these 5 pages of comments "Age doesn't make you a man."
A number means feck all to me so I never judge anyone. I'm 21, live with my partner, we have one daughter and another on the way. Some people would say I'm too young for all that but it's further proof it's mentality/maturity than a number : ) x

I'm 20, but since I still live at home and spend most of my days playing video games and drawing (I'm not a bum, mind you, I'm trying to find a job and get some experience in the real world before I head back to school), I guess I don't count as an adult.

Yeah, I remember when I thought like that as well. That's not intelligence, that's hubris.
It really doesn't have anything to do with "hubris". It's not a matter of pride - I'm probably one of the least self-confident people you will ever come across.
My statement draws it's reason from the countless times I've listened to adults give ill-informed opinions on something they know very little about, or the many times they've argued against me when I know in my heart and soul that I am right.
Notice I said "most". I don't think that God* has gifted me with intelligence that surpasses the rest of the human race. I am certain there are a LOT of people who are smarter than me, but at the same time, I know that there are also a lot who aren't.

*As for your religion point, I'm Catholic and believe in God. Take that however you like.

Most people I knew in College were "intelligent" as well, but there's a huge gap between intelligence and wisdom (there's a reason they are separate stats in D&D!)
I never claimed to be wise. Wisdom will come experience as I grow older. It's something to look forward to. But until then, all I can do is prepare myself as best I can using the resources that are available to me.

So, no, you're no different than anyone else in your High School. You are just the same, except with a fresh coat of paint.
I know it's slightly off the topic at hand, but really you can't judge this until you've been to my school. They are, for the most part, idiots who don't care how their lives end up. However, there are of course others who are of equal or greater intelligence than me (I never said there weren't).

I'd advise you to grow up, but if you are even half as intelligent as you claim then you'll see in the next few years how big of a douchebag you are now.
It is here that your argument loses all credibility. If you need to resort to common insults to better your point, then you have no right to lecture me on intelligence levels and arrogance.

Edit: Just fixed some grammar and spelling errors.

24. Ending my university years, drifting between work at a different town and my father's factory over the years and preparing for military service. Still a ways to go before I become fully independent.

My wife just had a baby a few weeks ago. Most amazing experience of my life.

My son is asleep in my arms as I type this. Being grown up is awesome.

Twenty one myself; I admittedly live with my parent (mother) and I see no reason to depart, not to benefit financially however because we enjoy one another's company. Additionally I am home alone frequently; it does run alongside the lonely avenue after a long duration. Anyhow I may be venturing upon my own in the second quarter of 2010. Business may require I depart to the US (currently reside in Canada).

Hey, I just turned 21 today, I've been living out of home for about three months... Um... Does that count? My job isn't great, but it pays the bills that seem to be accumulating as my life progresses... Also, I love Yahtzee and Unskippable and sometimes I watch There Will Be Brawl. Yep, I guess I'm the "adult" you're looking for? I don't post much, though. Contact me, if you want. I'd like it, actually...

Hah.

Hahahahahahahahaha.

I hate to be a 'This' poster, but This.

Yeah, a lot of us are teenagers, but there are plenty of adults here. Just gotta know which ones.

For example, a lot of people show surprise when I mention that I just turned 17 about two weeks ago. Apparently I seem a lot older than that on the forums.

21 with a batchelor's degree, an apartment and a job in software development. Once I get a car and dispense with my somewhat unhealthy relationship with alcohol, I'll consider myself fully grown up.
