Pretend I went off on a rambling praising of San Diego. It's awesome here, though the housing is pretty damn expensive.

Oh, and don't let the earthquake threat fool you. We just use those to scare off Midwesterners who think they're scarier than tornadoes. It's the wildfires you should worry about.

The Midwest is pretty peaceful and not overtly racist. Lots of wide open spaces.

Don't even visit Jersey- that's my advice.
Ouch

Having been born in New Jersey, I can assure you that it has some wonderful locales for you to visit. I can also assure that it is not just the small strip seen from NYC that *most* like to think it is. The hill country is quote nice, imho.

I think Boston is great there is a lot of culture in the area and it is a very unique region of the country. However if you are looking for something completely different compared to England you won't find it here because many towns have the same names as English ones i.e: Cambridge or Carlisle and the way the cities and towns are built is also similar.

Tampa, FL

We have more stripclubs per capita than anywhere else in the country.
We also have Moffit Cancer Center, Tampa General Hospital, and All Children's so the medical care kicks.
We have USF which is actually a really nice and not overpriced school.
We have a pro football, baseball, and hockey team.
We have Busch Gardens.

But most importantly, we have the only Yuengling Brewery outside of Pottsville, PA.!!!!
Tampa definetly isn't the best place in the world, St. Pete is even worse. I live between the two. Although, our schools blow.
You are only 18 and you live in Pineapple Park, the second worst place in the metroplex after Larghetto.

=P

Wait until after you turn 21, then things get alot better!
You're right, because I'll be moving to Europe XD

where in europe are you going?
Most likely back to Poland.
unless you are trolling me, im going to warn you now, dont.... in fact put it this way, most of the polish working population have migrated to england since we joined the EU, so that pretty much sums up the country
I'm not trolling anyone, and I don't get your point.

sorry dude but poland fails, not saying england is any better at the moment with the recession and all but all your lot flooded over here as soon as we joined the EU
Poland...fails. Okay...

I'm casting in my vote for Hawaii, it's sunny and warm.

But for the real US experience I think you'd have to visit: Washington, California, Texas, and New York or Boston (I think that encompasses all the biggest and most varied states in the country)

I've only ever lived in the Midwest (Illinois and Wisconsin) and it's pretty nice. I liked visiting southern California because the weather was awesome, though I love my snow too much to move there. Colorado also seems like a nice place and I'm thinking of moving there once I graduate.

The 'best' place is highly subjective. Where you would want to live depends a lot on your hobbies, career, etc.

I'm a desert rat through and through now. My vote would be for the southwest. Even though it does get hot for the summer, you get used to it. There's every range of city size, the people are friendly, the life is more laid back, and the cost of living is far cheaper than the big cities on the east and west coast. Also, we have no hurricanes, tornadoes, or earthquakes. :D

But the scenery as absolutely beautiful out here. There are lots of places to go and things to do if your the outdoorsy type. For instance:

Feels like I'm writing a travel brochure...

Hear in Houston, Texas!

We have plenty of open space but also places of culture and consumption. People are nice (well, not on the road) and prices are reasonable. We have a lot of diversity, too and there's always something happening.
