Where did you get your history lesson? The My Lai massacre ended up with between three and five hundred dead Vietnamese citizens, none of whom were actual combatants.

And, also for the record, the U.S. didn't get "it's [sic] ass kicked" in the war; a huge domestic opposition to the war caused American support to dry up and forced the military to withdraw. Under President Nixon's plans, the South Vietnamese people had a fair shot at lasting long enough to get their own, independent army up and running. But Democrats in Congress blocked all military aid to the South Vietnamese, and the Viet Cong inevitably captured Saigon.

Ok, maybe 'got it's ass kicked' is a bit extreme, but the VC sure gave them a hard time.
As for the My lai thing, I know that. he's talking about autobalancing, which in my (apparantly failing) logic, means multiplayer. so he's saying the vietnamese sucked and that's not true.

there was actually one incident in the crisis that came to light decades later. an u.s. destroyer unprovoked tried to bomb a soviet submarine with waterbombs. the correct response acording to soviet military doctrine would have been to blast the us-fleet away with a nuclear torpedo. only one brave soviet officer named Wassili Alexandrowitsch Archipow refused to obey the orders and start a nuclear war. that's right, the only reason we are not fighting over scrap food in a nuclear wasteland today is because one russian officer didn't let himself get worked up over the provocation of some stupid cowboys.

Secondly, it's "Cuba", not "Kuba".
Thirdly, America never took part in Bay of Pigs. That was an independent CIA operation, and the only combatants were Cubans. No Americans died during Bay of Pigs.
Fourth, they're called "Depth Charges", not "Waterbombs".
Fifth, there is no such thing as a nuclear torpedo
Sixth, that incident still wouldn't make a good game

I don't understand how they let other people do their fighting in Afghanistan. Firstly if you are talking about the USA in general their are currently 57,000 troops and Marines there currently. If you are talking about the CIA they don't run the wars. So please explain.

Also am I the only person who understands that the next Call of Duty wouldn't be 7? The next Call of Duty that will receive a number is Call of Duty 5. It's just like the Resident Evil series 5 wasn't the 5th game made it was more like the 11th or 12th.

Seeing how Vietnam was the big engagement that caused Americans to question their military industrial complex, it would be interesting to see if the Call of Duty series' primarily gung ho stars-and-stripes mindset would be altered in any way.

I'm hoping for more than just Vietnam in this game. With the amount of conflicts taking place during the period, I would be annoyed if only Vietnam was included. Personally I would like to see the wars in the Congo and Angola presented. Being able to play as a European mercenary in Africa during the 60's would be fun.

Treyarch made World at War and all the ones before 4 right? Those were the best ones. Haven't played COD MW 2 and COD 4 was pretty good. But I liked the Treyarch developed ones better. Also, Vietcong Zombies? Noice.

they get other countries to help them fight, that have nothing to do with it. mine actually entered the war illegally, it's kind of a big thing around here because someone actually noticed >.<

apparantly, the bay of pigs thing was a CIA operation. pyromaniac1337 said America never took part in it. but the CIA IS american, so I'd say they did take part in it, just not the american military.

as for the numbering... I don't think anyone is really paying attention to the numbers anymore. technically you're right, WaW and MW2 didn't officially have a number on the end (except mw2 (<--look, there it is)), but unofficially they did. and since this is an unofficial thread, we can call it CoD7
