This is why I can't claim to be fond of Liberals. I mean, I suppose I prefer them to Conservatives, but at least Conservative stupidity acts overtly against the Left. When Liberals do stupid shit, decent, hardworking Socialists and Communists somehow get lumped in with it.

I'm guessing you just saw LGBT and assumed that it was the work of a liberal.

In no article I could find does it say that the creator of this petition is a liberal. I've looked. I've googled the name. I found her twitter feed, she didn't state her political beliefs. Although she apparently is some sort of musician.

This leads me to believe she's just trying to gather some attention to help her (probably nonexistent) career, not acting on the behalf of any political ideology.
Make a stupid petition, get some free advertising, I'd do it.

Change.org is a very Liberal organization.

I personally, think this is pointless. Everyone knows they're friggin' best friends. What, you think they've always had a thing for each other and no one noticed? I mean... why? What purpose would this serve? Sesame Street has never touched on romantic subjects or anything. Besides, you can't just drop this bomb out of the blue. If you're gonna do it, you should lead up to it. Not that they need to because no child is going to care.

My bro thinks this is wrong because it's introducing young preschool aged children to serious and adult elements. And Sesame Street has never done it before.

I'm as lib as libs go, but I don't see how introducing sexuality in a show about everything but sexuality can help anybody. Just picking a cultural icon that looks to be homosexual to the eyes of an adult is not likely to get the job done. Most kids cannot even see that yet.

They should introduce more homosexual characters in cartoons and the like. In places where there is actual sexual behavior on display. It only makes sense, I think.
