I heard that it's coming out for Xbox, Ps3 and PC (Can anyone confirm this?), so at least we won't have those mindless exclusive arguments.
According to IGN's listings that's right.

It looked a little clunky with the fighting, and why does she drop the pistol in the E3 run through? Is there some story reason for her not killing (like it being more real worldlike).
Cause they're wearing armour, and its impoosible to grab and climb while holding a gun.
And who needs guns when you can slow down time perception and jump kick people in the face? :D

Maybe, just maaaaybe, he wanted to see how, uh, you know, see how the gunplay mechanics worked out? I mean, why add gunplay at all if you can kick absolute arse without a gun? And perhaps he wants to see what kind of enemy designs that will force the player to use the platforming mechanic in innovative ways?

demo = sex if sex was actually downloadable
It's called porn. Also, not even Japan can make sex as sickening as Mirrors Edge. (Not saying the game sucked, saying it gave me motion sickness. And I never get motion sickness from a videogame)
I would never buy it.
Agreed, even if I wasn't sick, some of the tutorials needed more detail (especially the "press lb when near a pipe to gain momentum" I still don't know what they meant or how I got passed it. How close, did they mean press lb while running, or did they mean press lb while standing still), and this game felt like everything needs to flow at a constant pace. Look at say, when you're on a ledge, you go so slow it's boring. I guess it's ok to see the city but you're supposed to be a person in this city not a camera angle. Plus Unskippable cutscenes really don't belong in this game.

Cliff is a fucking asshole. Seriously, he's sooo arrogant. He's like "My game, Gears of War, is the best game in the world."
He's just too much. First insulting MGS4, and now Mirror's Edge.

He's like one of those 12-year old kids who sit and scream into a microphone when playing "hailo fwee". Unfortunaetly, he had minor skills in the art of "game-making", and became a game producer.

... What a sad world.
Did you know he ate his words about MGS4? He got so much bad-feedback he made an official apology to Hideo Kojima and complimented the game a week later. I smiled at this.(Not that the guy is an asshole but that he got what was coming to him.

By the way, does someone else smell jealousy here?

Cliffy B can't possibly create something so innovative as Mirror's Edge so he naturally lashes out on it just like the little kid he is.
Curse you. Stealing the words from my mouth.
Completely agree... Mr. Cliffeh needs to keep his trap shut until he actually reinvents something

Wait, were is CliffyB lacking in understanding of Mirror's Edge? From what I read it seems as though he is expressing his belief that the game needs enemies.
So the cops and the harsh mistress of gravity are not enemies

hoooookayyyyyy.
Did you read the article? It's approximately five sentences, I could get a twelve-year-old on two cans of Mountain Dew to read it.
so your're saying your summary is wrong then? why did you even type it?

EDIT: So he says there's too much of the Entire Point of the Game

...do I even need to explain why that doesn't make any sense?
You need to explain how you derived those two points.

Cliffy said that he likes the gameplay he's seen for Mirror's Edge but he wants to see how the gunplay and combat in general works.
Here's how i derived the points

1. You made a summary to save people some time. However your summary was apparently an elaborate trap. This however, is immaterial because I read the article.
2. His words, verbatim "...they're showing me too much parkour, I want to see the gunplay."

Once again, the gunplay is ancillary to the game because the main character is not a badass space marine. The running and jumping is the core gameplay element (interspersed with kicking people in the face occasionally)

Therefore, Cliffy decided that he did not care for them prominently displaying the entire point of the game

he may be ignorant

and he may have more sway with idiot sheeple then you'd want in someone so ignorant.

but I think he's right about Mirror's Edge. I don't know why people like it so much. But for me, that's ok. You guys go ahead and swarm all over it. I'll be over here.

I felt the same thing about Little Big Planet. It boggled my mind that it even existed, but that's ok. People seem to have gone fucking nuts with it and destroyed its servers several times since it's release.

Have fun with all that :)

I didn't make a summary, I made an interpretation.

His complete quote verbatim was "I think Mirror's Edge will be great, too, but they're showing me too much parkour, I want to see the gunplay. I hope it's not all just running and jumping. As long as there's something chasing me...even Mario had Goombas, you know?"

I interpret that as meaning he likes the look of the parkour gameplay but he wants to know how the combat handles and that combat is in the game at all.

I think Cliff would be among the people that prefer PoP: WW to PoP: TSoT on the basis of combat. Lots of the "proper" gamers would tear him up for that. But the way I see it, Warrior Within was great fun and much less annoying than Sands of Time. The story and dialog were worse but I'm not playing a movie.

Anyway, you see what I mean?

But hey, frat boys and fan tards at least you have someone to look up to huh?
If there's a frat boy Oscar award out there, Cliffy B takes it home.
Frat boy stereotyping huh? Very sofisticated of you.

My roommate recently joined a frat, and he's an obsessive WoW player.

Would all of you idiots stop humping the Cliff B. bandwagon and actually read the motherfucking articles posted?

There is no critism about Mirror's edge. Just a note of curiosity about how the player would be motivated to move. That's it. It's just worded awkwardly. There is no mention that there should be allot of gunplay, just that he was curious to know how the guns you get will work for you.

As for demos, he stated that he didn't like them and thought that they overally killed the enjoyment of a game, making the players discouraged from playing. Why? Something about players and how they lay their claim about "played it". His logic is incomprehensible, but considering that only a part of the interview was quoted, I wouldn't be surprised if this was taken out of context.
But he likes it.

He's the creator of Gears of War, do you really expect any words coming out of his mouth to actually have quality, poise and decency?
Hold your self kinda high up there dontcha...So apparently when someone makes a game that YOU dont like the creator cant have a quality, decent thing to say? I understand your try at a joke but sorry you just kind of look like a dick. For the record when you hate on "frat boys" and "fan tards" what are you really trying to get done? Flame war? Be made fun of? You need people to not like you? Heres an idea stop posting on anything related to gears 2 or cliffy b. you always post saying how much you really could not care for it. Dude we get it, we dont want to here you anymore, you sir are not needed.

Of corse he says that man, he is pushing his game(with guns galore). Also he is aloud to have a choice in the games he likes. I think wow is stupid pointless ect. Its really no diff than his view on games with no guns.

Goombas got stomped on, totalitarian police officers get kicked in the face. No guns necessary, just pointing that out.

Also pointing out once again that the combat has nothing to do with the main point of the game that makes it unique and therefore actually worth paying money for. Therefore it was a completely asinine thing for him to say, not that that should have actually been surprising.
