He's the creator of Gears of War, do you really expect any words coming out of his mouth to actually have quality, poise and decency?
Hold your self kinda high up there dontcha...So apparently when someone makes a game that YOU dont like the creator cant have a quality, decent thing to say? I understand your try at a joke but sorry you just kind of look like a dick. For the record when you hate on "frat boys" and "fan tards" what are you really trying to get done? Flame war? Be made fun of? You need people to not like you? Heres an idea stop posting on anything related to gears 2 or cliffy b. you always post saying how much you really could not care for it. Dude we get it, we dont want to here you anymore, you sir are not needed.
Way to miss the point huh?

It's not because i don't like Gears of War, i don't like a lot of things.
It's because Gears of War is the embodiment of what's wrong with the industry, swear words, gore, weak story, weak immersion, weak story telling, and most of all hype. People saying Gears was awesome while it was mediocre.
Same goes for Halo 3. Hype can do a lot of things.
You can have fun with the game and i understand that, but at least have the decency to know it wasn't that good. Heck i know and i deal with a LOT of friends who play Gears of War and they know it wasn't that great, but they keep on playing it because it's fun.

And too bad, I'll continue posting because i have the right to.
As you have the right to play any game you want and defend it.
It's called having an opinion, you can't really hurt someone for it as much as you want to.

You know whats not needed though? Calling other people names.
Funny how you say i miss the point but you cant even tell me what i said. Where did i EVER call you a name sir? Yeah just kinda made that up didnt you? also funny how you get on my case for getting on your views but then you get on mine. Do you even read what your saying dude? Also i have no problem with you posting, hell sometimes they are funny. All i'm saying is that maybe you should stay away from "gears" and Cliff related topics. Also you say gears is whats wrong with the industry. Blood gore swearing ect. Well people most games have had blood and have gore. Dude these are nothing new. So i guess you think the industry has been messed up since Doom? Jesus i would hate to be as upset as you over the industry for that long.

Wow deff. said LOOK LIKE A DICK. Not that you were sir. If i say a pig looks like a duck i most deff am not calling a pig a duck. And also thank you for explaining in better terms your thoughts. They were unclear but when you elaborated you made much more sense. lastly please do n ot think you are in a place where you can tell me what to say and what not to say. I could care less that" You for one are not amused", I can say what i want, its MO, you said this yourself. I also strongly doubt you care that i said "Jesus". PLENTY of people use "his name" like that on here and i dont see you correcting them. And you and i both know i was not trying to belittle(sp?), make any kind of fun, or discriminate on you or your "Lord".

nothing scary you just run to get away. Kinda like a first person video game version of black guys and police. They aint afraid of them they just dont wanna get caught. Thats pretty much mirrors edge in a nutshell.

(By the way dont start calling me a racist please. It's hard to be racist against your own kind.)
That's kind of a cop out, I can make equally derogatory statements about other races because behind my computer screen I'm blank race because I said so and you have no proof to the contrary.
Ok that just sounds dumb. Take a look at my profile. go to the myspace page on it and you can see for yourself I'm black. Only reason I put the last part is I know how some people get. As to the topic at hand I got to play the mirror's edge demo and I agree wholeheartedly with Cliffy B's statement. I played it for a total of 2 minutes and went back to gears 2. And given his track record with his games I think he knows what he's talking about.

Well I disagree. It's perfectly easy to be racist about your own race, just requires a bit of self-loathing is all.

Mirror's Edge: There are guns, but Gametrailers said they're more like 'power-ups' than actual guns. In the demo, I always ditch the guns immediately and run past the enemies or completely avoid them. I love the fact that there's finally a game where you don't HAVE TO fight the enemies but running away is actually a very viable option.

Demo's may ruin the 'cherry poppin' moment, but it can also prevent a bad purchase. I'm glad there are demo's, because they're certainly prevented some bad choices in gaming for me.

Same here. Demos let me see how I'd fare with the actual game, so I don't make a bad move and get a game I can't even get halfway through. Though, it took me a good couple tries to get the rhythm of Mirror's Edge in the demo, and I was quite thankful for the retries I got in the tutorial. XD;

Though the fact that the main point isn't combat is highly intriguing to me (mostly since my lack of depth perception causes me to miss in hand-to-hand combat depressingly often) but I really do want to give it a more indepth try. (IF my eyes can handle all the blinding white, and Merc being a jerk.)

I'm looking forward to Mirror's Edge pc. I have a feeling about this game, similar to the ones I had about The Longest Journey and Beyond Good & Evil.

Cliffy B is just a twitch-game smacktard with a god-complex. Why does a game need guns to be a good game? Headshots and curb stomping can be fun, but I enjoy games that don't rely on extreme violence just as much. Possibly more.

Cliffy B/Dude Huge(WTF?!) may be an ass, but he is a very successful and rich ass. I would want be like him any day of the week, twice on Friday and three times on Saturday.

As for Mirrors Edge, I played the demo and was not that impressed. But then I like Gears of War enough that I want to play GOW2. Damn them for not putting it on the PC. I will not buy a RRoD box.

A lot of the time, a demo or a beta of an upcoming title has helped to warrant my purchase for said game. Mirror's edge is no exception. It's without a doubt some of the coolest games I have ever played.

I hear that later in the game you frequently do have to fight, as there are increasing numbers of encounters which are simply roadblocks where you are not allowed to proceed until you defeat all the enemies. (actually, that's something that's going to defer my purchase of ME until the inevitable '09 gaming drought.)

To be fair, Gears is a lot of fun to play.

And also to be fair, Mirror's edge is just an FP game but without guns (or I suppose it does have them but penalises you so much for holding them it isn't worth it). So yeah, they took away an element from a genre, making it so there's less in it. How could anyone think basing a first-person game on just jumping around is a good idea? Even Metroid Prime, an FPA whose focus was platforming and exploration, had guns - this is a videogame, people want to shoot shit!

I know, I'll make a platformer, only this one I'll make it without any gaps in the platforms. The player doesn't have to jump, just run. No-one's ever done this before it'll be innovative and fresh.

Sheesh.
