Sai nodded to Zestia. "Alright then. C'mon Kia." She said to her companion as she weaved her way through the crowed. She enter the shop as the pungent aromas of various herds and medicines wafted through the air.

She walked up to the old man behind the counter. "Sir could I get a few disinfecting herbs?" She asked politely. "Certainly young Lady, don't tell me you're going too?" He asked with a small smile. "I'm afraid so, being a guard is good and all, but it pays to have some extra experience under my belt." She said with a shrug. The old man nodded and handed her the medicine "You be careful now, it would be a shame to see a yon one such as yourself lose your future."

"Thank you sir I will" she said handing over the silver and walking out.

"Bandages mostly." Kadence replied to Pru. "In case we get injured. I may ask if the owner recommends anything for a trip like this. I'm sure others have stopped by to get supplies before us." She watched as a vaguely familiar guard make a very quick purchase. Garret shifted slightly, his nose being more sensitive to the sharp smells of the shop. Kadence re-focused on the task at hand.

"Have you read any books on apothecary supplies?" she asked curiously, looking up at the neatly labeled bottles and shelves full of supplies.

"One, a long time ago. It was mostly over the beginning aspects of apothecary as a practice, not so much anything about an apothecary in other terms. I got bored with other books that week and felt like something unique to read." Pru walked over and looked at a flask full of a strange green substance. "In short, no, I only know what I can remember from that time years ago."

Zestia walked inside the shop and stepped up to the counter. Shade put his face into her neck to avoid the smell in there.

"There, there. We won't be long." Zestia said to Shade. Then she turned to the man behind the counter. "I need some bandages and some disinfecting herbs."
The man nodded and brought Zestia the items. "That'll be 20 silver."

"Here you go." Zestia said, handing the man the silver and taking the items he had brought her. She placed it in a small bag she was carrying and left the shop with Sai.

"Where do we go now? I've already gone to the blacksmith." she said to Sai.

"Well honestly that's all I can think of. Being a guard does have it's perks, most of the stuff I need I already had. I suppose I could use some more arrows but I can pick them up on our way out. I have a bed roll and extra cloths, water, rations." Sai counted the off on her fingers "Well I guess all we do now is kill time at the closest tavern. I don't think it's the one our friend works at though."

"I believe I have everything I need as well. I'll need to stop by at home to pick up the rest, but I think I have everything." Zestia went over it in her head.

"Yup, everything. So, there nearest tavern then? There should be one around the corner if I remember correctly."

They walked along the streets and when they turned the corner, a tavern was in sight. "What did I tell you? Come on, let's have ourselves a drink or two." Zestia walked towards the tavern and then walked inside it and had herself a seat at the front table. "One ale, please."

"Make it two." Sai said joining Zestia at the table. "So tell me a bit about yourself." Sai said patting Kia as she waited for the ale to arrive. "If we're gonna be traveling together we may as well know each other.

They were handed an ale each. Zestia picked up her cup and sipped a bit before talking.

"You already know my name and my companion's name. I'm an errand girl. I run errands out of the city. Couldn't get a job as one inside the city and they needed one that was willing to go outside and be away for a while. Makes decent money."

I must exercise caution around this woman. She's a guard and I wouldn't want to be thrown in jail or be executed for what I really do.

She gave Sai a soft smile.

"Oh. Okay." Kadence left Pru looking at the supplies and walked over to talk to an elderly man sitting behind a counter filled with small bottles and vials. She explained what she wanted and asked for his advice. While they spoke Garret left Kadence's side and walked over to sit near the door.

At the end of her conversation with the apothecary, half of which was filled with technical terms Kadence didn't understand, she purchased bandages as well as something in a blue glass bottle that he said would help disinfectant wounds. She trusted the old man and the prices seemed fair. He'd even given her a small cloth bag to put the supplies in, which Kadence thanked him for. She walked back over to Pru.

"I think we are set now. Unless you had anything to purchase." she told the girl. "According to the man over there the scribe's workshop is between here and the Inn. We could head that way now if you'd like. Or we could stop at one of the taverns and get some food."

Prudence's stomach grumbled. Be quite! she told it in her head. "May we go to the scribe then a tavern? I haven't eaten since breakfast with Durkon, and I'd feel comfortable another book in my pack." This time she held the door for Kadence.

"Thanks." Kadence let Garret in front of her and then step outside behind him. The wolf shook himself and sneezed once. He seemed to be glad to be outside and Kadence could sympathize. The place had smelled rather odd. "That sounds like a good plan." she said, turning slightly toward Pru. "I believe the Inn is in...that direction." She pointed down the street. "So the workshop should be nearby."

After stopping by the tannery for a piece of equipment, which Tatiana was not very amused over, the pair was heading back to the apothecary to pick up the medical supplies he had ordered earlier that day. Tatiana's ears where laid back as she scowled at Lev, and the saddlebags that he was carrying, in a way that looked like they had insulted her gravely.

Lev noticed this as they walked to the apothecary, "I know you absolutely hate carrying things, but I'm not going to carry everything on the trip, and you know we don't have money for a horse or mule." He told her, holding up the door to the shop, and briefly spotting the two women they had met earlier at the butcher's. 'Good, they look like they bought some supplies. Not like most of the idiotic, adventurous crowd.' he thought as he entered the shop after Tatiana, who had obviously forgotten which shop they were entering, sneezing as her nose was assaulted by the strong smell of different herbs.

"Oh, hello there, sir. Your order is packed and ready." The mustached elderly man told him as he spotted him, pointing at two packages packed in cloth.

"Thank you, this will prove most helpful." Lev replied as he counted up the silver he needed to pay for the supplies.

"If I may ask though... Are you also going on the King's quest?" The man asked Lev, looking over at the saddlebags and the other supplies he was carrying in them.

"I may, I will have to see. But for the time being I will head westwards, as I think chances are that I will encounter some less fortunate questers, most likely crying for help in a ditch somewhere." Lev replied as he handed him his money.

The old man stroked his mustache, "I see, good luck with that, sir."

"Thanks." Lev said as he exited the shop again, Tatiana following him as they walked back to the inn with the supplies, entering and dumping it all in the room for now. After that he ordered them both some food and waited in the inn's common area.

The tavern girl made her way back through the streets to the tavern. When she reached the door, she stopped dead in her path- it had reopened and was just as busy as the previous day. Ducking around the front wall, she peered into the small window on the wall, barely transparent with years of dust caked onto the inside. She could barely make out individual faces in the blurred sea of movement inside, but she already realized what this meant. Her father treats her harshly for a mere broken glass, how would he react if she returned having snuck out? She did not even want to imagine.

She backed away from the window and into the crowded street, knowing she could not return or her very life might be in danger. She certainly would never get the chance to leave ever again. She thought about her options carefully. She had no possessions, her only clothes were the ones on her back, and no money except a few silver in her pocket from the kind guard's tip. She also had no companion. Her worry had died down considerably since the morning, as now she could sense he was somewhere nearby, where he has been completely absent earlier in the day. It was just a matter of finding the troublesome crow. She would certainly have a word with him when she found him.

Sorry for the poor writing quality, I've been feeling rather unimaginative the last day or so, it will pick up again by tomorrow hopefully...

Having drunk her fair share of Ale with the Bear she decided she'd go out for a walk if her legs could manage. Viktorya slammed money down onto the table and lifted her self off the table as the odd pair made their way out the doors into the street.

Her eyes sqinted in the sunlight
"Wanna see the smithy like we planned?" she asked the bear whom returned her question with a puzzled look and continued walking

"The smith it is!, and then maybe we'll find out what we can about this ruin eh?" as she stepped of the Tavern porch

Sai returned the smile as she took a drink of her ale A courier huh? Haven't seen many with a snake for a companion, most have horses or something suited for carrying things. Of course not many guards have foxes either. She thought with a mental shrug. Kia shared the feeling.

"My guess is you're a guard. Am I correct?" Zestia asked Sai.

Shade slithered off her shoulders and down on the floor, where he lay down and watched Kia.

"There it is," Prudence pointed out the workshop after they had been walking for a few minutes. She joyfully led Kadence through the door and quickly approached the scribe. "Hello, I'd like to buy some books."

"Have you had any ordered," the man asked with disdain.

She pondered for a moment. I wonder if it'll work. "Uh, yes. Sh-Shea." She tried to say it so that Kadence couldn't hear, but she didn't account for her higher hearing.

"Humpf. And how could you prove that you're not just stealing them from under my nose?"

"Because I'm their daughter." Pru said it shyly and the scribe barely heard.

"Oh my, I'm terribly sorry! Please, I'll get them for you right now." He hurried to the back room. "I wasn't expecting you to pick them up for another week, so we only three of them are finished! I won't ask why they sent you of all people!" He came back out with two semi-thin books and a medium-large one. Prudence reached into her purse but the scribe stopped her hand. "They're already paid for, madam. Have a good day. Please come back soon and I'll have the others ready!"

Pru stuffed the books in her pack and rushed Kadence and Garret out of the shop. The pack was heavy now and she blushed that they now knew her name. They were going to start treating her like upper class, whether that meant with respect or with hate.

"That I am. Kind of an inherited business I suppose. Both my parents were guards. They wanted me to be as well and here I am." She said with a small wave of her hand. Kia stared back at Shade. "It may seem odd for guard to have a fox as a companion, but Kia has helped find a couple of petty thieves since I became a guard." She said petting Kias head.

"As it's strange to see an errand girl with a King Cobra as a companion, but I can assure you, I have enough stamina and strength for the two of us. Shade has helped me fend off thieves in the past and he will continue to do so until either one of us dies."
Zestia took a big sip of her ale.
Shade was still lying on the floor, watching Kia.

After eating his meal Lev pondered what he should do next, that he would sign up with the guards to go on the quest went without saying, but did he really want to travel to the west alone? He hardly knew these lands, and he had heard rumors that things were less controlled the farther west one got. A normal trip he could manage without any trouble at all, he and Tatiana could weather most dangers with ease, but would he really set off into the unknown like those fools?

He looked down at Tatiana who was currently busy scraping the remaining meat of a leg-bone with her teeth, and making an intimidating show out of it, sometimes growling at the meats tenacity as it seemed like it wasn't going to let go of the bone anytime soon. Lev sighed and returned to thinking about his current situation, he didn't know anybody in this town, let alone anyone he could trust. His only options would be to either just tag along with a group of strangers, or rent out his services as a doctor to the questers, and neither really appealed much to him.
