My prom i actually today. I'm not going because I'll be too busy in the corner crying about my lonely lonely life and contemplating suicide. Either that are finally beating Fallout 1. It's kind of iffy at the moment.
I had to go 'cause I was one of the organisers, so it would've looked bad if I didn't.
But I can't say I enjoyed myself; I spent most of the night avoiding the dance floor in a completely retarded outfit, my best friend had already left so I had noone to talk to who wasn't on the dance floor (I'll be damned if I was to join in the dancing), and the night ended on a high when all the girls came to the false realisation that they wouldn't see anyone ever again and started bawling their eyes out.
I couldn't even take any photos as I normally do instead of actually joining in with things like this as I didn't have anywhere to put my camera and I'd dropped my phone in the limo.

My boyfriend at the time insisted that we go. He rented a tux with tails, got a limo, corsage, the whole 9 yards. I did not want to be there. I thought all the ceremony was bullshit, and I didn't like most of the people there.
I should have taken that night and difference of opinion as a sign and not dragged the relationship on for 4 more years. :S

It was total shite. They had a chocolate fountain for previous years but not this year. Because someone spilled it last time...
Everyone that went pretty much said it was pants. It was basically a school disco in suits and prom gowns. Oh yeah not having someone, not even my friends to go with doesn't help either.

Why so many negative impressions on what Prom is in this thread? I went to my schools Prom and homecoming in both my 11th and 12th years and had a blast both times. Went as a single in my 11th year and with my girlfriend at the time for my 12th. Danced the whole night away and rocked out at after parties afterwards.

Yup. I went to both my Junior and Senior Proms and had the time of my fucking life. I don't know why everybode here loathes the idea of Prom so much.
I'm going to prom next weekend, because I have a girlfriend and a group of friends to go with. It should be a good time, but I certainly don't judge people for spending the night playing or designing games. I did the same thing for the last school dance, it's just a night to spend with your friends, and if they're not goign neither should you.

I didn't see the point in going to my year 11 prom, I don't wear dresses. I suppose I could have done what my friend did and gone in trousers and a top but I just didn't see the point. Apparently some of the teachers got drunk but hey, not really fussed about seeing that. Went to the after party though, don't actually remember much of that but it was almost two years ago.
Got the year 13 prom this year. Not sure if I'll go. Doubt it.

I went to two proms, my prom, and the prom at the high school where most of my elementary friends went. I had more fun at the prom at the other school.
