Actually, he looks more like a teacher in a boarding school. It's simple, out of place and different. Therefore, I like it.
Same here, and I'm starting to think that's what they where going for with Matt Smith. A slightly strange and out of place character. It's certainly going to be odd seeing him spout the doctors usual intellual ramberlings.

It also looks to me like their going for a more physical Doctor. Not a dumb one, just one who can handle himself in battle. I believe David Tennant accepting the gun was a sign of things to come.

So, a strange, out of place, physical and possibly more violent Doctor. I could see this being to the new writers style.

Any one else get the feeling that at the end RTD was expressing his annoyance at leaving the series?
He jumped rather than being pushed so it's doubtful it's annoyance.
But it did feel like it was an analogy for what's happening to RTD?

Why RTD? It was an analogy for how tennant felt, and has said as much in several interviews.

Realising and accepting that he must die (leave) though not really wanting too. Possibly. I'm just happy RTDs gone as he was far too inconsistant.

I spent the last 40 minutes of the show beeling my eyes out. It was just so emotional, in comparison to Eckleston's because it was slow and prepared you for the end.

I was watching with my dad and at the end he says, "That was sad ending." I say, "That's an ugly doctor!" with the tears and catch in my throat.

Just don't let him holler Geronimo every 5 minutes...that is already irritating.
Amen to that. Also in the trailer, there was about 5 frames of a Weeping Angel. Please dont let them come back as they were great for a 1 off but I doubt it would work a second time around.

EDIT
Tranka Verrane said:
OK, SPOILERS, for those outside the UK that can't view the trailer:

Some of the things of note in the trailer:
The stone angels, apparently on a spacecraft
Daleks
Vampires
Woman from the library
The Doctor shooting a pistol(!)
The Doctor shooting the pistol caught me by surprise as well. Didn't spot River Song though *goes and has another look*

EDIT AGAIN
Oh yeah, there she is
I saw that trailer on BBC 3 after it finished on BBC 1 (yeah, I watched Confidential) and I didn't see her. Good spot by Tranka Verrane. And was it me or did the Daleks look redesigned and shinier? And that pistol bit surprised me too.

But anyway, only caught the last 30 minutes of it and found it good.
Can't wait for Matt Smith now.
[sup]Heh. Just noticed, the Doctor goes with Mr Smith as an alias. He is now being played by Mr Smith.[/sup]

Agreed. When he was good, he was very very good. But when he wasn't... ugh.

Pegghead: You're getting confused. Series One was Christopher Eccleston, Series 2-4 and four specials (including The End of Time, which aired today) was David Tennant, and an all new Series One (aka Series Five if you're new to the series, or 32 if you're a long-term fan) will be with Matt Smith later this year in the Spring.

Tiny116: How did I not spot that? Good eyes, that (wo)man.

It wasn't a new series, just a double-episode special. No doubt you'll have it shortly, it's only just been shown here.

Captain Jack used it to resurrect Owen, which proved somewhat more than temporary.

Fear my near encyclopaedic Doctor Who-related knowledge!

Also, that glove wasn't the same as the one from torchwood...the second reserection gauntlet was shown in torchwood. The one in the special was the gauntlet of rasilon, completely different thing.

EDIT: Curse you Marsden!
