Halo 3: ODST.

I don't get what the complaining is about to be honest, it had a great voice cast, good atmosphere and some fun mechanics. It was fun to play and the story was told in an interesting way, plus, having the Engineers finally appear was a great gift to a budding Halo fan.
Plus, given my lack of Xbox Live it was a great help in giving me all those additional multiplayer maps that I otherwise, would not have been able to access.

I mean I admit it's not a perfect game by any means but it's still pretty good as these things go. The only reason I hear people complain about it usually is to do with the 'outrageous $60 dollar price tag' to which I really must express People who only have to pay $60 dollars for games, have no IDEA how good they have it.

Kotor two, Neverwinter nights 2 and Fallout: New Vegas. What is with the hating on Obsidian.

I haven't run into one bug for any of them.
Did you get it post patch or pre-order it? That is where most of the bugs are from.

FFX-2
I thought it was pretty good. The combat was the best thing about it.
I agree, but that's not what I didn't like about it. What I didn't like was that whereas FFX was a gender-neutral game, FFX-2 was to its core aimed at a female audience, to the point where I couldn't let my roommate see me play it since I'd worked so hard to make him not hate JRPGs. Not saying it's a BAD game, and I own it, but I can see why people don't. It was just so radically different from the original.

I'd have to say Metroid Other M. Bad voice acting, yes, but that's only a tiny smudge on a beautiful painting, as it were. Good gameplay, and a very good lead-up to the memorable plot of Metroid Fusion.

I've seen a lot of people say they don't like Enter the Matrix. I loved that game to bits. First of all the cool gun and hand to hand combat is great with the "focus" ability to pull of moves such as wall running and bullet dodging. I also really like how it wasn't a cheap movie tie in, but actually had a lot of input from the film team. The same actors provided MoCap and voice work as well as using the actual sets for he live action cutscenes. It tied into the storyline of the trilogy and provided an in universe explanation for the Oracle's change in appearance.

The driving sections and the final level were awful, and a couple of the levels were a bit uninspired, but overall it was great. The hacking minigame was cool as well. It also featured hot girl on girl kissing which pleased my teenage brain when I played it.

I'm not much of "gamer", but everyone I know is into FPS and I don't like games where shooting is a central focal point. So I love the Skate game series, and my friends are ignorant to the fact that it's awesome. I don't think FPS are stupid I just don't like them.

It's more exclusive to this site, but the Halo series. I've always had fun with them, and I've found the story and characters interesting.

In general, though, I'd say Mercs 2. I had boatloads of fun with it just going around finding all the different ways I could break things. RF Guerilla falls under this as well.
have you played mercs 1? to me its much better, you can just buy as many air-strikes as you want anywhere, no need for fuel and no quick time events.

Dragon Age: Origins

I keep hearing people complain about it but I don't see why. Sure there are some parts that could be better but overall I think it's a good game.
And all I hear is people praising it... it's a weird world we live in.
Yeah, I think some people are exaggerating the hate some games receive. Dragon Age is one. Knights of the Old Republic 2 is another. I played it three times and don't remember any bugs. From what I recall back when it was released, people were more disappointed with the ending. I'd still say it's more loved than hated. And Modern Warfare 2. It's wildly popular, even here.

Have and love the first one, but I find I have just as much fun with the second one.

The word everybody is not particularly applicable here, but the massive hatred for MW2 on here has always left me perplexed and shocked.

And, yes, I've played the PC version.

Also, the next gen Double Agent. Haven't experienced a single bug.
I don't think the hatred is set aside for MW2 is because it's particularly bad, more because it wasn't as good[footnote]It has shorter single player, no dedicated servers on PC, smaller multiplayer games (as a result) as well as arguably worse perks/maps than it's predecessor, it just didn't feel as lovingly crafted as any of the earlier call of duty games.[/footnote] as previous games in the series and was met with huge commercial success. I'm confident that if it had received mediocre reviews and was punished by the media for it's shortfallings (rather than being touted as 'teh bestest thing evar!1') it would have a solid fanbase and those that hate it would simply have no interest.

There are real, live people who don't love kingdom hearts? The worst I've ever heard anyone say of it was that they didn't have a PS2 and therefore couldn't play it...not exactly an issue with the game as such.

My 'game that everyone hates' is James bond:TWINE on N64. Yes, it was probably an objectively crap game, but I had heaps of fun with it and at the time wasn't effected by any bugs are bad game play elements it may have had.

Pokemon Colloseum. I loved it, I don't get why most of the pokemon fans I know hated it. I mean yes, your choices for pokemon was limited, but it was a great breakoff from the usual collect-all-gym-badges thing. I mean, you were fighting someone who was actually a threat to the world, not just a bunch of idiots in uniform like any of the teams you had faught up to that point.

Name a Final Fantasy that is hated by Final Fantasy fans, and I most likely enjoyed it. I had absolutely no problem with XII, XIII, VIII, X-2. I haven't tried XIV, but that's because I don't play MMO's and don't own a PS3.

Red Faction: Guerrilla

I hadn't heard any "horrible" reviews, but they all kinda ranged from "meh" to "bad". I personally loved the single player, although I haven't tried the multiplayer, that may ruin it for me.

I can't really think of anything recent. A lot of people are saying Oblivion and Dragon Age, but those aren't widely hated at all despite the impression you might get from these forums.

Tron 2.0 for me maybe. I don't know that it was hated so much as it kind of went unnoticed. Was a fun and addictive play through.
THANK YOU!!! I kept wondering why people kept saying "Oblivion" and Dragon Age". Aren't those critically acclaimed and commercial successes? I know the real "Die Hard" fans of those series might think other wise, but that really wasn't what I was going for. I'm talking about games that had mediocre (if not down right poor) reviews and lackluster sales that you found enjoyable. Oh and by the way...Tron 2.0 was awesome
