Games that took you five minutes to realise you hated.

Dragon Age: Origins. I just really dislike the controls. It feels so awkward to control. I'm sure a more-experienced RPG veteran would wholeheartedly disagree.

Two worlds.

My friend was a big fan of shooters, so I told him to step out of his box and try an RPG.

What did he pick? Yep: Two Worlds.

He tells me it sucks. I tell him, having not heard of it or played it, that I'll give it a try, and see if it was really that bad.

It was. My god, it was.

He would not allow me to give it back to him. It was that bad.

Red Faction Guerrilla. I hated it to being with, but decided to be fair and actually played it. It was horrible, I couldn't make it past the 3rd mission. Bad story, poor gameplay. It was nothing but "Blow things up! Blow things up! Hahahahah, aren't you having fun with our gimmick?!!?"
I sure was! I enjoyed blowing shit up all the way to the end. I couldn't care less about the story, but turns out I couldn't quite care more about ramping my jeep through a second story and on top of various bad guys.

Man, I loved that game.

oh yea, on topic, PROTOTYPE. I wanted strongly to love it because the movement and chaos levels were through the roof but it was just....so....bad.

Lost Odyssey, I've thought highly of Final Fantasies in the past and, as this was from the same creators I thought it may have been good. I was wrong.
LO was just produced by the guy who created FF. It was developed by Mistwalker and published by SE but you always want to do research with this sort of thing with games and movies. If it says "from the people who brought you" or "brought to you by" then be suspicious. These are industery buzz words to make you think that the same people who worked on the other thing that you liked worked on this as well. Be cautious friend and be informed.

lost magic a game i bought for about 5 bucks at the last gamestore and i still wish i didn't buy it it seemed pretty cool use minions to fight enemies while you draw runes to cast magic at them but all my creatures were worthless and my spells didn't do much to protect me or them plus my mp drained rapidly

I couldn't get into Mass effect either. It felt to much like a crappy fps with a watered down skills system to make it look like it's an rpg.
A crappy FPS? It was a third person game >_> It didn't have as much of an RPG element, so it wouldn't cut off a large proportion of people who don't like RPGs.

Half Life 2.

Seriously.

I stuck with it, simply because nearly everyone who has ever existed EVER has said it is the single greatest game EVER created. Ever.

It was an alright game, but I think I hated it because it seemed like I HAD to like it. That, and the gameplay was bland and dull. Dont give me that same old shit "It was a genre defining game blah blah blah." It might very well have been. When it was made. It was such a tedious game. Except for Ravenholm. That was the best bit, easily.

I know this might count as blasphemy for some people here.

Yeah I know I just say FPS because I'm used to it.

Bioware makes rpgs and I was just disappointed it was basically just a shooter. Also I really dislike the main character for some reason.

In my defense, I played it at a friends house. I guess it's also a candidate for 'Worst Christmas Present Ever' :p.

I'm going to have to say yoshi cookie for gameboy. What can I say? Maybe sonic heroes it was a disapointment but I certainly liked it for more than 5 minutes. A week at best. The replay value was a nightmare though.

DOOM 3, as soon as I realized I wasn't going to be listening to a metal soundtrack and tearing through hordes of demons. I realized the game was going to be a lousy survival horror trying to have a story whilst failing to have a story.
I went from this :D to this :( pretty damn fast
