Sports. Whether it's movies, games, whatever they're all basically the same damn thing. I wouldn't mind if the formula they kept on using was any good, but the sports games aren't any fun, and the sports movies are "OMG INSPIREENG11!1!!" drivel.

Sports games. I do like the older NFL Blitz games though. Everything else has a startling lack of innovation.

I'm bored of FPS that aren't Valve at the moment, but that's not really a hate.

I'd say MMORPGS. They just aren't enjoyable. When looked at from the perspective of someone studying game design, you see it's the equivalent of a casino addiction, and that in the end it's just a series of infinite small completely alike mini-victories that never equal out to any real progress.

Click a guy > Your guy kills him > do this 30 times > Now you can kill a different color guy

-doesn't understand and neither does google.-
Are you using the Chinese version? It might be filtered.
Nope, the UK version on Google Chrome with safe search off...
I don't think the UK's allowed to know about it. You know, what with the current state of parliament and all.
-Is confused further-

Racing games really don't do much to intrigue me. I mean sure I can play one for a few minutes or so if I'm holding an Ipad in my living room with my family while having a conversation, but I could never spend money on a game that just has me driving around and doing laps around the same place over and over and over again.
I can see why some people would like these games but for me personally, not thrilled.

Also, let the record show that even though I love me some thick delicious hamburgers I find the love of animal slaughter in 'hunting games' a little distressing. Fighting animals that are trying to kill you is one thing, but laughing joyfully as you shoot Bambi's mum does get a little unnerving to watch.

=/ Why not? I mean I can understand the easyness of consoles, put the disc in, start up matchmaking etc. But I rather like my mods, mouse, custom games, dedicated servers and very few 12yo's shouting through my mic.
I don't like the controls, I find them rather confusing. That said I never played them much. I played Half Life Deathmatch that I got for free on Steam a year or so ago and the way the mouse and buttons felt when playing it was too weird for me. I don't like the lack of modding on a console though, I always envied PCs for that.

Wow, you're the first person i've heard say FPS should be console-only. Most people say the opposite. You should play the Source FPS's (Counter Strike, HL2, L4D etc), great FPS's for PC.

I agree that RTS should be limited to PC too, there's too much micromanagement for them to work with a game-pad.

Never been a big fan of RTS games, i'm too much of a perfectionist and hate putting effort into a base and having it destroyed. Makes me feel really scrappy and unorganized. Though if you saw my bedroom you'd see that doesn't reflect me at all in real life xD
I find the controls weird, like I said before. It's the way you have to combine mouse controls with keyboard controls. I kinda got used to it when I messed around with the WoW trials so I guess I could get into PC FPS games. Oh I love RTS games, they have their flaws in their way of AI so you can kinda get used to the enemy but I love the building a base, having a bit of it destroyed building it again, using your massive army to plough your way through every last thing the enemy has. Oh yes, lovely jubbly.

I don't mind anything really. There's quite a few games that fit into a genre but execute what they do superbly thus being the exception to the rule. For example, I never used to like RPG's, but with Fallout 3 and Mass Effect, I found myself enamoured. Granted Bethesda and Bioware make absolute gold, but there weren't any other RPG's that I liked before that. I've since gone back to Oblivion though and I've enjoyed it after dismissing it the first time.

Otherwise I don't have any major qualms over certain genre's, JRPG's don't do much for me, but there are some that spike my interest. Racing and Fighting games are also a bit....eeeehhh for me as well, but I still enjoy playing them from time to time.

Horror games, especially zombie/mutant types. I blame playing Resident Evil when I was like 9 x.x

Oh and yeah just saw a poster above, sports games/flight sims (I love flying in regular games, just find it too shallow of an aspect on it's own) are really not my thing, just same old crap all the time - I enjoyed them as a kid a bit, but they've not evolved since at all really and there's just so little I can find interesting in them.

I never was a fan of war games like Call of Duty. I don't like the repetitive "shoot guy in desert. shoot guy in destroyed neighborhood" aspect of it. It's a little too realistic (therefore, dull) for me.

I also second the millions who said JRPGs. Same bullshit, different box art.

i fully agree with the OP. I can't stand RTSs. I also can't stand games like sim, simcity etc. I also can't stand RPGs or sport management games... Blech...

I'd like to add rythm games to my initial choice. Guitar Hero, Band Hero, Rock Band, you can all go jump in fire.

Sports and Racing are the two main genres I simply have no interest in playing whatsoever. Fighting games would be on the list as well, were it not for Super Smash Brothers.

Too much hate on JRPGs. To listen to some of you they are all exactly the same game, which isn't true.

Look at all those buttons!
It's actually not too bad when you're eased into it, you start off with just one or 2 attacks and grow from there. Though it would make my head hurt trying to decipher all of those attacks if it wasn't my character D:

I love video games. But there are just some genres that I cant fucking stand to play for even one second. JRPG and RTS. For the longest time I thought that I hated all RPGs, then I played some Western ones and then I realized that I hate Japan's RPGs. I hate every last Final Fantasy. I just find RTS to be boring and dull. I don't want to be giving orders and watching the ants get slaughtered, I want to be on the front lines kicking some ass. What gaming genres do you absolutely hate?
Every RPG game, sports game, and I'm also getting tired of the FPS genre.
