Why didn't Bungie just add the Halo 2 maps into Halo 3 multi? Or are the games somehow different? Do Halo 2 fans not like Halo 3?
I don't think Halo 3 has the headshot pistol thing that Halo 2 has. But a Halo 2 map pack release would make sense. But maybe they're going to release them all at once for Halo REach with options to take out the jetpacks, etc.
They may fall one after the other in the series but they are VASTLY different. I actually preferred the way that the Matchmaking was done on Halo 2 over Halo 3. The way the maps were laid out. The weapons. You name it I thought Halo 2 was better than Halo 3 in every aspect especially story line. Yeah Halo 3 closed the story but Halo 2 was actually unique and not a rehash of Halo 1 on a different ring.
Well I read an article which claimed that Halo 3 was actually supposed to be the second half of Halo 2, which is why half of the plot carried directly over, hence making Halo 3's plot seem pale in comparison because it was supposed to wrapping up Halo 2's plot. But as I have never played Halo 2 (unless I gt the PC port at some stage), then I am not entirely sure about most of the finer details between the two games.

Or they could switch to the PC where Halo 2 wil be playable for ever since you host the sever and can do so whenever you please, not when mircosoft says you cant.
Another win for the dedicated severs supporters

Meh, I always thought that Halo 1 was the best, I never really got into Halo 2 because they took so long to release on PC and by that time i had lost interest.

OT: I think this is a reasonably interesting story, however if i was in that kind of position i would get it on PC.

Why not charge 5$ a month for live 1.0 support, separate from live 2.0+ of course. Then when they get most of the Xbox catalog online as digital content people can use that for the live features, its seems like a win win if done that way.....

Get the fuck over it. The game isn't even that good in the first place, go play other decent games instead of desprately clinging to the shite ones.

That is true I heard the same thing but they could of made the story line SO much better than they did with 3. They should of at least tried to get something new into the mix rather than throw back in Halo 1 with the story line finish for Halo 2.

A house burning down because they are playing Halo 2 past the cut-off? Are you kidding? You better not leave your house today because a meteor might fall on you. The drivel on here by many proves to me that the Halo 2 community was unmatched by those in other games. We play Halo 2 because we love the game. Why play a second-rate game like Halo 3 when you have the game that defined X-box? What's wrong with people who love Halo 2 not logging out so they can play longer? You people need to get a life.

Xbox on for a week?...it's all fun and games until someones house burns down.
...?

My brother's plug melted after he left his on too long, and that was a matter of hours...not a week. That's all I said, that leaving a console on for a week is pretty hazardous...they get hot.

Your little tirade is misguided. I made no mention of the Halo 2 community, I'm sure they're all lovely people. Definitely not teabagging degenerates who offend easily(and without provocation, might I add), screech down their microphones and are so afraid of change that they would rather play the same game over and over than experience something new...definitely not.

These may or may not be my opinions. But seeing as how you're already offended, I figured I'd actually give you something to whine about.

There was a recall with Xbox power supplies that caught fire, I think your brother may have had one of the dodgy ones.

I had that problem, MS switched it straight away which was nice.

I also had one of those ambi purr things that burnt my caravan to the ground, and a RipSnorter that blew a plug, and my PC caught fire which my best mate threw a beer onto blowing the electrics at the plug too...

I have a fear of electricity, some would say its irrational, to them I say "fuck you, try jumping out of a burning caravan"

edit: sorry OT!, They finally logged off, shine on you crazy diamonds, if I was a Bungie employee I'd take it as a huge compliment from what they did.

3. Assasin's Creed 2 doesn't need servers to run.
The PC version does. Along with Settlers 7 and Splinter Cell: Conviction.
I was talking about the xbox 360 version
This is the internet, be prepared to have your own opinion invalidated by a complete stranger.

I think I understand what you mean, Xbox's Halo 2 being a console game and now not being supported, much like if that happened with Ass of Ass Creed, suddenly not being able to play your console game.

No, you were responding to this:

I imagine in 10 years or so we'll hear about how Assasin's Creed 2's support servers are going offline and nobody will be able to play their copy of AC2 anymore. Strictly speaking I feel that if I bought a copy of a game, I have the right to just up and play it online 10 years later on an old machine if I get the hankering.
You may have been thinking about the 360 version when you posted, but the subject and what you replied to were talking about the PC version.

If Therumancer comes in here and says, "no, I was talking about the 360" then I'll stand corrected.

I'm sure it was a very pretty smelling fire. I can certainly understand being slightly scared/cautious with electrical goods...you don't forget the smell of the burning plastic, or the panic involved when trying to figure out how you're going to get the burning plug out of the wall socket.

Electricity is a bit like...a tiger, it's awesome! But it also demands a certain amount of fear and respect.
