Leonardo DiCaprio To Play The Riddler In Batman 3?

Im sorry but this is all rediculously old news. Depp and Hoffman were rumored to be the riddler and the penguin right after The Dark Knight came out. The entire cast of Inception has been rumored to play parts in Batman 3. Its all total speculation at this point, so I wouldnt hear any news you hear at all of the new villian to be worth a grain of salt. And Christopher Nolan is in almost complete control of the movie, it doesnt matter if the producers like Depp as the ridler, he could cast a total no name, and itd be fine. We just have to wait and see, oh and the list for people rumored to be catwoman, are you kidding? Megan Fox couldnt act her way out of a paper bag, just because someone may fit a role physicly, or is a big star you could see in the role, doesnt mean anything at all in this case. Big names are pointless to Nolan

Actually Killer Croc showed up in Gotham Knight, which makes him canon in the Nolan-verse. It's still highly unlikely that he'll be the next movie's big bad, or even make an appearance.

Don't get me wrong, I have Gotham Knight in all its animated glory, but Killer Croc's involvement was both confusing and nearly pointless. Maybe Nolan was talking specifically about the live-action parts?

True, Killer Croc didn't have any real significance, but his appearance still makes him canon. I just wanted to point that out.

A big HELL YES to Johny Depp for the Riddler, but that's a rumor that's been going around for a while.

I just hope they keep that asshole Shia LaBeouf far away from Gotham City.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I'd prefer Leo to do the part. Depp is quickly becoming nothing but a gimmick with his last handful of movies. Notably the Pirates sequels, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Alice in Wonderland. Depp can clearly be sill, but after seeing what he did with Sweeney Todd I doubt his ability to do serious anymore. Leo could pull off the more subtler, darker tone that the new movies have set up better.

Not many people would cast Heath Ledger as the Joker...but look how that turned out.

ya that went great for him... however i think he could pull off the role, it would be a nice change. The riddler is the only villain i have a hard time imagining as a dark character, i mean the riddler is just not scary... if anything he would be annoying, the only dark version i could think of would be as a serial killer, never really seen, only sending messages.

Well, well, well, it seems for the "Untitled Batman Movie" To be released in what appears to be 2012, Leonardo Is in talks with producers...to play a completely different character than any other he has played before...

I wouldn't be surprised--Christopher Nolan appears to form very good working relationships with his cast members. I'd like to see it happen, and this is coming from a person who doesn't like Leo. Ever. Maybe this could reinvent him.

I'm going to jump into the Depp camp for this one as I also believe he would truly give us the better incarnation of the Riddler.
Whoever it is they will have a hard task as they will have whe whole world expecting them to live up to the career defining performance which Heath Ledger gave us which no one expected at first but were totally overwhelmed by.
