So I guess you hate every police force, every government official, hell every everything even, because some people abuse the power of their position and/or are dirty. In fact, I guess you post weird porn. After all, one person signed up and started posting weird porn before being banned, and he was a member of the Escapist. You're a member of the Escapist too. You're allowed to enlist in the Marines without being a US citizen. I served with US Marines who were from Canada, Ireland, and South Korea. So while it is unlikely you can still get recruits who are not citizens of the United States.Canid117 said:

This is an ideal place to advertise for them. Almost entirely male, primarily 18-25 (or slightly younger) demographic, all english-speaking, almost all American... there are exceptions to all these epithets, but for the purposes of military recruitment - really good place to target (IF it was targeted consciously, which it may not have been). So there is nothing surprising about it all; US military advertises on almost all gaming websites.
Whether or not the US needs any more marines/etc. - well, my answer is no, not at all, but that's a much bigger discussion than a short forum post is really fit for.

A)That is how warfare works. You shoot off what is known in technical terms as a "shitton" of bullets at where you know the enemy is so that they cant fire back and you maneuver a squad into position for a kill shot. This is how warfare has been fought since WWI and American forces alone expended significantly more than that for every German killed in WWII.Romidude said:

I've not seen any ads for the Marines, although I have seen a few UK company ads, so I'm going to assume they have some kind of localised advertising code built into the pages (the same stuff that can tell how many people have seen it) and it will show you one of any number of adverts that are for your specific area that they'll find from your IP address.
Like if I go onto google.com right now, it automatically puts me on google.co.uk because it knows I'm in the UK.
As for advertising for soldiers? I have nothing against it, although I'd doubt the UK would do that at the moment, as they seem to be trying to get rid of as many as possible at the moment :/
