So I guess you hate every police force, every government official, hell every everything even, because some people abuse the power of their position and/or are dirty. In fact, I guess you post weird porn. After all, one person signed up and started posting weird porn before being banned, and he was a member of the Escapist. You're a member of the Escapist too. Therefore you're a dirty rotten weird porn poster, just like all Marines kill children, because the actions of a few people mean the whole orchard is bad. Am I doin' ur logic right?Romidude said:The bullets thing was there just as a representation of the "effectiveness" of the war in Afghanistan. And ever heard of a "bad apple"? This time, it's the whole orchard. Also, sorry that I can't be a millitary buff.Kortney said:Ugh good. Someone who doesn't understand how war is fought!
1. "The Kill Team" were Army. Not Marines. Completely different branch. Marines are in the navy. Army are in the.... army.
2. Even if the "The Kill Team" were Marines - it proves nothing. They are a small portion of people that do no represent the real ongoings, actions or thoughts of the Marine Corps or the US Army. For every Marine that hurts an innocent person, there are five that risk their lives every day to save innocent people.
3. In today's warfare, most of the time you can't see where the enemy is coming from. They are usual kilometers away. This is what a firefight in Afghanistan looks like from a soldiers perspective: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBd8Fl6gGdI . But yeah, you'd be able to nail them all in one shot - wouldn't you? Insurgents ambush, fire and maneuver extremely well. They have been fighting for ten years. They know the terrain, the know the line of fire and they know exactly how to remain hidden. They don't walk up to soldiers and fire from 100 metres away in plain line of sight.
Thank you for excellent posting.Kortney said:*snip*
What are you implying?masonfr8kr said:Hello community. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think the military is trying too hard? Why does the US even need more Marines? I want to know what we think.
And a larger chunk are Americans who are in the age bracket they wish to recruit from. How is this so weird?Rylot said:I'm not against the Marines advertising here, it just seems kinda weird. A huge chunk of the users aren't even American. Seems like a poor choice of product placement imho, but whatever.
Grow the hell up dude. Really there is no need for that.Romidude said:Hm, seems they're running out of people to go shoot children for fun. Occasionally doing something right. (Before critisizing, check internets.)
Also know as Guerrilla warfare.Romidude said:Kortney said:Wow. btw, the "Kill Team" cut the fingers off of the people they killed and used them as trophies
Also as a fun fact, 230,000 bullets are fired for every insurgent killed.
You're allowed to enlist in the Marines without being a US citizen. I served with US Marines who were from Canada, Ireland, and South Korea. So while it is unlikely you can still get recruits who are not citizens of the United States.Canid117 said:And a larger chunk are Americans who are in the age bracket they wish to recruit from. Apology NOT accepted, as you clearly are trying to come across as knowing what you're talking about. Which you just admitted you DON'T. I mean, come on. It's spelled "military".Romidude said:The bullets thing was there just as a representation of the "effectiveness" of the war in Afghanistan. And ever heard of a "bad apple"? A)That is how warfare works. You shoot off what is known in technical terms as a "shitton" of bullets at where you know the enemy is so that they cant fire back and you maneuver a squad into position for a kill shot. This is how warfare has been fought since WWI and American forces alone expended significantly more than that for every German killed in WWII.Romidude said:The bullets thing was there just as a representation of the "effectiveness" of the war in Afghanistan. I thank you and every other man and woman in the American Military for their service and dedication to keeping me and people like Romidude safe from those who would do us harm.Temple Guard said:You're allowed to enlist in the Marines without being a US citizen. Thank you all for the kind words.
In fairness, while he may be misinformed, if there are strong reasons to criticize something, those same reasons are also, sometimes, reasons for not extending it the honor of respect. So it just seems weird that it's OK to criticize, but not OK to disrespect.Andothul said:Grow the hell up dude. You can criticize the military all you want but don't disrespect them
Right, which means that every single member of the American military is a bloodthirsty killer. Your logic astounds me.Romidude said:Kortney said:Wow. As others have said, there is no talking about any sense to people like that. Personally, I just take great amusement at their rage.Kortney said:edit: Could some of the veterans on the Escapist come to my aid here and explain to this person what common sense is?
