Masters, A Pokemon RP(CLOSED) Chapter 7: Out of the Woods.

[Mookie_Magnus]

"These things take time, Sylas." Magnus reassured him. "He'll come around eventually."

The group ate their dinner happily and quietly, and then went to sleep for the night. Magnus lay awake into the night, thinking about what would happen now. No doubt, his latest actions against Team Rocket would get him noticed again. Once word got out, all those he had angered in Kanto would come after him... His newest friends had little idea of what this meant for them.

Once again, people put themselves in danger on my behalf. I have to make sure that I don't let them down...

The next morning, Magnus was up early and had started the fire. He had started the group's breakfast, and was waiting for them to wake.

Brandon woke up at the smell of food. "Now that smells good he said rubbing his eyes." After a quick trip behind the trees to relive himself he sat down next to the fire. He could tell Magnus had something on his mind. "Listen if you still have any thoughts about us helping with the rocket thing, stop. We choose to help because we wanted to. Your our friend and even had you told us to go home, or just plain left without a word, we would have followed." He thought for a minute. "That sounded a lot better in my head."

 

[Mookie_Magnus]

"I know, Brandon." Magnus answered.. "I'm glad that you all decided to come with me, I am."

Magnus sighed, and focused back on cooking.

"I don't wanna talk about it." Magnus said softly. "Not right now..."

"I understand." He said with a little smile.

 

[Mookie_Magnus]

"Alright, then..." Magnus said, smiling slightly. He waited for the smell of the food to waft through to the tents, and wake everyone up as it was cooking.

The smell of food filling the air awoke Mark from his zombiesque slumber. He walked over to the fire and took a seat. "What's for breakfast?"

 

[MasterSqueak]

A flash of light came from one of the tents, and Eric stumbled out with Calhoun and Rascal following.

"Food..."

 

[Mookie_Magnus]

"Good morning." Magnus said to Mark and Eric as they stumbled out of the tents. "Food'll be ready in a few minutes. Dress warm today, it might get windy. If we're lucky, we'll reach Violet City a little bit after dark."

 

[Lost In The Void]

"Good to hear," Duncan said, moving to help Magnus with getting breakfast ready, "What are our plans once we reach the city?"

 

[Mookie_Magnus]

"I dunno..." Magnus said in response to Duncan's question. "I was assuming we could play tourists. Check out Sprout Tower, try the Gym... and maybe the Ruins of Alph, if there's time."

Magnus noticed that Sylas and the girls were still asleep.

"Is there anything in particular that you wanted to do, Duncan?"

 

[Lost In The Void]

"Well, I've always wanted to see the ruins, the symbols that were on the wall, always interested me. No one has ever figured them out, which confuses me; I mean there could be so much more for us to discover, once someone manages to decipher those symbols."

Sylas awoke to the sounds of conversation nearby. He inhaled deeply and caught the smell of hot food. He unwrapped himself from his blanket and stretched his legs and back, then got up and joined them at the fire.

"Good morning." he said drowsily, "How is everyone?"

 

[Mookie_Magnus]

"Cold... But otherwise fine." Magnus said to Sylas. "Did you sleep well?"

As the girls slowly woke up, Magnus and Duncan had finished making breakfast for the group. After everyone had finished eating, they packed up their camp and set out on their way.

"As well as can be expected in the dead of winter." Sylas said.

Walking was mainly uneventful for the first while, and Sylas took to nervously tapping the pokeballs attached to the strap on his backpack. He was still thinking about Vandal's issues. Quillz started to get though to him. I might have to let them have more time together next chance I get.

 

[Mookie_Magnus]

After walking for a few hours, the group came upon a large clearing in the woods. There were several other Pokemon Trainers in the area, many of them battling one-another. Magnus looked, and saw a sign indicating that they were on Route 31 now, on the right track to Violet City.

"This looks like a nice place to break the monotony of walking, right?" Magnus asked the group, as he was their de-facto leader. "Go ahead and enjoy yourselves."

As the others scattered to take advantage of their free time, Magnus saw a round yellow head from the corner of his eye. A Bellsprout was walking through the grass, and looked at Magnus. With a swift movement, Magnus called out Garnet to battle it.

"Use Quick Attack!" Magnus shouted. Garnet rushed towards the Bellsprout, and struck it in the stem, knocking it down. With an expertly-aimed toss, the Bellsprout was in a pokeball, and after a few rattles and a ping, now belonged to him.

"Excellent..." Magnus said, hooking the new capture to his belt.

This is basically free-time. Post whatever you like, flex your writing muscles. Battles will be good, or interacting with your Pokemon, or catching something. Or just sitting back and doing nothing.

Sylas decided to only let Baron out this time. There was too much trouble last time. The cubone appeared in front of him and shook his body awake, then toddled over to some tall grass.

"Have fun." Sylas said, standing off to the side and letting Baron do his own thing. As he explored the grass a weedle approached him. Baron growled at him, then tackled it to the ground. The worm-like pokemon writhed around and tried to sting Baron, but it was too weak. Baron swung his club down onto the weedle a few times until it passed out.

He jumped up in triumph, so Sylas could see the top of his head bobbing up and down out of the grass.

 

[Lost In The Void]

Duncan was walking around looking for wild pokemon, when he bumped into a strange little boy examining a capterpie, "Watch where you're going asshole," the kid said standing up.

Duncan tried to keep walking, but the boy blocked him, "Think you're so tough eh buddy? Well you've got another thing coming, GO BUTTERFREE!"

The pokemon emerged from the Pokeball, and faced off Duncan, "Alright lets go."

Houndour was released and the two faced off. The bug catcher used wing attack, which Duncan reacted with an ember, that caught the pokemon on fire. He thing used bite, to disable the Pokemon. The Butterfree flinched and Houndour took this advantage to use another ember, successfully bringing the weaker pokemon down. The trainer withdrew his pokemon and handed over the appropriate cash. Duncan moved on whistling to himself, patting Houndour's head absentmindedly.

Brandon let out Lilly and Jack, the two hadn't been alone together in a while. "Go ahead and get some exercise you guys. Have fun." he said with a wink and a chuckle. Jack stared with a confused look and Lilly blushed.

Jack and Lilly had wandered off a little away from the group. "Listen I just want to thank you for helping me the other day." Jack said "I don't know why but I just hit this weird funk and you helped me."

"Hey we're friends that's what we do." Lilly said with a smile "But you've helped me more then you know." She said quietly as she hugging him "Even when we were little you were the strength. The courage that kept me going when things got hard." Jack wrapped his arms around her. They both stood there for a while, soon they lay back and Lilly let off a little giggle.

Brandon smiled as her heard rustling not far off and Lilly giggle. "Bout time they realized it." He said walking away.

D'aww... Jack and Lilly finally realize they like each other. Hehe... It'll be awkward if we catch them boning... *slaps self*

"Go, Poliwag!" A young boy that Magnus was battling called out his Pokemon.

"Go, Salad!" Magnus called out his newly caught female Bellsprout. "Use Vine Whip!"

Salad swung whip-like vines at the Poliwag, hitting it upside the face and spiral.

"Poliwag, use Bubble!" The Poliwag let out a stream of bubbles from its mouth, and many of them hit the Bellsprout.

"Salad, use Vine Whip again!" Salad swung her vines at the Poliwag again, hitting it hard in the center of the spiral, knocking it out. Magnus returned Salad to her pokeball, and patted the kid on the shoulder. "Better luck next time, kiddo."

"Thanks. I guess I have to try harder, and figure out type-advantages." The boy said as he walked off. Magnus looked around at more Trainers battling, and his friends enjoying themselves.

You named bellsprout salad? lulz if it was a tangela it'd make more sense but still naming a pokemon after food? where you really that hard pressed for names

Mark had found a log under a tree to sit down on and started reading about different type advantages on his pokedex and the different moves his pokemon knew and could learn. He didn't want to embarrass himself in front of his friend by losing to some kid years younger then himself.

A group of guys walked past Mark and one tripped over his outstretched legs. "Hey you just tripped me." He shouted at Mark.

"Sorry."

"Sorry isn't good enough around here you're going to have to battle me."

Great the local tough guy. "I'm not in the mood to battle right now."

"Then you can get your sorry ass out of here, right boys?" There came a series of reaffirming yeahs, and that's the rules around here.

"If it'll get rid of you fine." Mark had really been stalling for time so he could memorize Heracross' moves.

"That's more like it, come on out Slakoth." A dopey looking Slakoth came out of the ball.

"Get 'em Heracross." Heracross shot over to Mark and hugged him. "This a battle not play time." Heracross jumped over to face Slakoth.

"Night slash." Heracross charged towards Slakoth and swung, but Slakoth leaned out of the way. "Slakoth scratch." The attack hit Heracross right in the back. "Horn attack Heracross." Heracross charged with it's horn and missed again. "Now fury attack." Heracross hammered Slakoth with a series of 4 blows. "Scratch again." This time Heracross did the dodging. "Hit it with a Night Slash." This time Heracrosses attack landed.

"Slakoth use yawn." Slakoth let out a loud yawn and Heracross started to stumble and finally fell asleep. "Now slack off." Slakoth laid down on the ground and rested recovering some of the damage it took. "Scratch." The scratch hit Heracross waking her up. "Heracross finish it with a Night Slash." Heracross landed a critical hit that sent Slakoth flying back unconscious.

"Haha I win." Mark exclaimed.

The other guy just grumbled and walked off.
