Masters, A Pokemon RP(CLOSED) Chapter 7: Out of the Woods.

"Alright, go Calhoun!"

He released the mouse pokemon, and it squared off against a HootHoot.

"Use Thunder Wave!"

The Pichu launched a wave of paralyzing electricity at his foe.

 

[Mookie_Magnus]

"Pidgey! Use Gust!" Magnus' opponent commanded his Pokemon. The Pidgey created a gust of wind with its wings, and blew the smoke away.

"Now! Use Extrasensory!" Garnet's eyes glowed a light purple, and she focused on her enemy Pidgey. The Pidgey was unable to move, as the Psychic energy attacked it. Garnet slammed the Flying-Pokemon on the ground, and let the attack go. "Now use Quick Attack!"

Garnet rushed the Pidgey with a speedy charge, knocking it back down as it tried to get up. The Bird-Pokemon was rendered unconscious, causing the Trainer to switch it out for a second Pidgey.

"Now, use Sand-Attack!" The Trainer called to his Pokemon. The Pidgey kicked up a cloud of dust, which got into Garnet's face. "Now, use Mud-Slap!"

The Pidgey flung a puddle of gunk at Garnet, hitting her in the face again, and doing some decent damage.

"Garnet, return..." Magnus called back his Cyndaquil before she was unable to battle. He grabbed a second pokeball, and called out another Pokemon. "Eon, go!"

The adolescent purple Vaporeon burst gracefully from his pokeball, and stood ready to battle.

"Use Water Gun!" Magnus commanded. Eon blasted a jet of water at the Pidgey, soaking it.

"Pidgey, use Gust!" The Pidgey whipped up a gust of wind, and sent it at Eon.

"Use Quick Attack!" Eon rushed the Pidgey, knocking it out of the air, and out of consciousness.

"The winner is the challenger!" Falkner called out.

"Yes!" Magnus cheered to himself. He turned to his friends and smiled at them. "So guys, what did you think about my battle?"

Do I just play out my fight like that?

Basically, yeah. For battles like these, I will let the player have near-full control over how the battle goes. For more story-important battles, I will be in control of the outcome, and posting will go back and forth between the player and myself writing for both battlers.

Yeah, basically write out your battle, like I did. You're free to make it as fun as you want, with unique tactics, etc. Just make sure it's within the lines level-appropriate moves and such.

"Dodge it!"

The Hoothoot tried to fly out of the way, but the electric attack connected with its wing and brought it back down.

"Alright Calhoun, use ThunderShock!"

The Pichu fired a bolt of electricity, which hit the immobile Hoothoot and did massive damage.

"Hoothoot, Hypnosis!"

The owl pokemon stared at Calhoun, and the mouse felt his eyelids drop. He was fast asleep.

"Now, use Peck!"

The Hoothoot hopped over, and its beak sharpened, surrounded in a glow. It pecked the sleeping mouse pokemon on the forehead, knocking it back. Calhoun awoke with a start, looking around in confusion.

"Calhoun, another ThunderShock!"

The Hoothoot was zapped, and fell over unconcious. Eric's opponent returned it.

"Good job Hoothoot. Go Spearow!"

The Spearow appeared in a flash of red as it was released from its ball. It looked at Calhoun with a bored glance.

"Use Leer!"

The bored glance turned in to an intimidating glare, causing Calhoun to gulp.

"You can take him Calhoun! Thunder Wave!"

Eric was hoping the same plan would work, but the Spearow was faster than the Hoothoot, and it evaded the electricity.

"Spearow, Fury Attack!"

The bird was quick, diving down on Calhoun and pecking him repeatedly, before returning to the air.

"ThunderShock!"

The attack was dodged again, to the frustration of Eric and Calhoun.

"Now, Peck!"

The Spearow swooped down, ready to lash out with its sharp beak. Eric knew Calhoun couldn't keep this up, so what should he...

"Calhoun, grab him!"

The Pichu leapt at its foe and grabbed on, surprising the bird pokemon. It pulled up, attempting to shake off the unexpected passenger.

"Thunder Wave!"

The Spearow lit up like Christmas, before careening down. The Pichu held on with all his strength, only letting go at the last second before the Spearow hit the ground. It tried to get up, but the paralysis kept it from succeeding. Calhoun stood up, looking ready to pass out.

"That's enough! Spearow, return."

Eric ran over to Calhoun, picking him up.

"You did great! You've earned a good rest Cal."

"Well done, guys." Falkner congratulated Magnus and Eric. He turned his attention to his Trainers, and gave them instructions. "After you've restored your Pokemon, get ready to battle again. It looks like more of these Trainers want to try their hand... Now, which one of you wants to battle against me first?"

"I'll go first." Magnus volunteered. "Are you ready?"


"Yeah, let's do this." Falkner agreed. He brought Magnus, and the observers, up to the roof of the building, where his personal battlegrounds were. "This will be three-on-three."

"Go, Doduo!" Falkner called out his Pokemon once both he and Magnus had taken their places.

"Garnet, go!" Magnus called out his weakened Cyndaquil as the first to battle.

"What plans have you got up your sleeve, kid?" Falkner wondered aloud. "I like it... Doduo, use Rage!"

Doduo attacked Garnet once, getting a little bit angry.

"Garnet, return!" Magnus returned the wounded Cyndaquil to her pokeball, and called out another Pokemon. "Eon, you're up!"

"Doduo, use Fury Attack! The two-headed Bird-Pokemon attacked Eon, who dodged a few strikes, and was hit by a few.

"Eon, use Water Gun!" Eon blasted a jet of water at the Doduo, dealing Water damage to it. "Now use Quick Attack!"

Eon rushed the Doduo, slamming into with high speed.

"Doduo, use Peck!" Doduo lifted both of its heads, the beaks shining.

"Eon, use Quick Attack, between the legs!" Eon rushed between the Doduo's legs, causing the heads to bump together as they went for him. "Now, WATER GUN!"

Eon blasted the Doduo again, causing the Doduo to fall over, unable to battle.

"Skarmory! Use Steel Wing!" Falkner called out his Skarmory. The large Steel-Type Bird Pokemon attacked by slamming its metallic wings against Eon's body. The attack was too much, and Eon blacked out.

"Garnet, go!" Magnus called out his Cyndaquil again, hoping that she could hold out long enough. "Use Smokescreen!"

Garnet sent out a cloud of smoke, blinding Skarmory for a moment.

"Skarmory, Air Cutter!" Skarmory moved its wings so hard, that the air was sent in a blade towards Garnet. Luckily, the attack missed thanks to the Smokescreen.

"Garnet, return!" Magnus called back the little Pokemon. "Now... Quillz, take care of this!"

The large mother Typhlosion beamed from her pokeball, and stared at the Skarmory with a fiery look. Her flames were up, and she meant business.

"Use Flamethrower!" Quillz loosed a river of flame at the Steel-Type Pokemon. It was unable to take the heat, and was gone in one hit.

"Return, Skarmory." Falkner called back his Pokemon.

"Come on, Falkner. Bring out your strongest Pokemon!" Magnus goaded the Gym Leader. "Bring it!"

"Alright! You brought this on yourself, though. Pidgeot, take flight!" Falkner released his mighty Bird Pokemon to battle against Quillz. "Use Wing Attack!"

"Quillz, use Rollout!" The two Pokemon collided, the powerful attacks clashing against each other. Quillz had the move advantage, however, and when the grapple broke, Pidgeot took more damage. "Alright, finish this..."

"Officer Falkner!" A Violet City Police Officer rushed onto the battlefield, causing Falkner to stop the attacks.

"What is it? We're in the middle of a Badge Battle." Falkner asked his fellow officer.

"It's the Tower! It's... Oh God. It's been taken over! They're holding some of the monks hostage!"

"What?! Who would do such a thing?" Falkner asked, dumbstruck.

"It was Team Rocket... Wasn't it?" Magnus asked the Police Officer.

"Yes... How did you." The cop paused for a moment. "Wait, I recognize your face. You're that kid who openly defied Team Rocket in Kanto. Magnus Vanik... You killed one of them."

"You forget the battles at Celadon, Saffron, and Lavender. Together, my Pokemon and I have killed dozens." Magnus admitted. "This is war, Officer."

"Damnit!" Brandon yelled throwing up his hands. "Though I can't say I'm surprised, after Lavender Tower I'm not surprised by anything they try to take over." He growled to himself "We helping?" He asked Magnus already knowing the answer.

 

[Lost In The Void]

Duncan grabbed his rifle; he knew what they were about to do and he was ready, "Team Rocket is really starting to irritate me," he said dropping his Nice Guy demeanor, "Taking some Monks hostage is a great way to prove your manhood."

Beside him Houndour growled. Though her trainer didn't know it, the reason that she had been injured when Duncan found her, was because of the Rockets. They had captured him, tortured and beat her as training and cast her out when she was finally defeated. She heard the name Rocket and she wanted revenge.

 

[Mookie_Magnus]

"What's worse, is that these Monks knew how to defend themselves and their Pokemon." Magnus said in response to Duncan's comment. "I'm not sure what their plan is, but they're likely using the Tower as a base. It's a cultural symbol of Violet City, so they're using that to their advantage. People aren't going to want the Tower damaged, even if Team Rocket is in there."

"If we're going after them, your Pokemon need to be restored. You can use restoration station on the second floor. I'm going to see if I can't get a closer look. Pidgeot!" Falkner jumped on the back of his Pidgeot, and flew towards the Sprout Tower.

"Like I've said before, any of you are free to get out of here if you want." Magnus suggested. None of his allies faltered, and he was glad for this. Magnus and Eric healed their Pokemon, and the group of Trainers rushed out of the Gym, ready to take down the Rockets.

 

[Mookie_Magnus]

Falkner flew at great speeds towards the Tower on the back of his Pidgeot. He was headed towards the top floor of the Tower, to see if the Elder was safe. As he flew, he encountered a Barrier around the upper level.

"Fearow! Use Drill Peck!" Falkner called out his Fearow, which began to attack the Barrier. Despite the powerful attacks, Fearow was unable to break through.

The group of Trainers all rushed towards the large Pagoda-esque building. As they ran, Falkner flew alongside them.

"The upper levels are guarded by a Barrier. The only way in is through the front!"

"Thanks! Can you handle the outside? Gather the police, we'll need to be ready to apprehend them when they try to escape!" Magnus said to Falkner.

"Yes sir!" Falkner changed direction, and flew towards the Violet City Police Station.

"Alright... We need to split up once we get inside. There's five floors, and we'll split up once we get past the first floor. Sylas and Mark, you guys get the second floor. Brandon and Eric, third floor. Duncan and Aiofe, fourth floor. I'll handle the fifth floor."

Magnus was glad that he had allies in this encounter.

"Just remember. If you're overwhelmed, and can get away... Run. Your lives are more important than the Tower. Let's go!"

Alright... We're infiltrating the tower. Post a battle with a grunt, just outside the Tower. Let's beat those Rockets!

"Okay, good luck everyone." Sylas said, drawing his sword. He pulled the mask out of his bag and put it on, then released Vandal. Several Rockets milled about outside the tower, guarding the entrance.

"Ready for this Mark?" He asked as they were spotted. A pair of Grunts started over to them.

"Gotcha." Brandon said giving a thumbs up to Magnus. He called out Jack and Lilly. "Ready?" He asked them they nodded. Another two grunts started for hims and Eric "C,mon. We'll take car of these two." Brandon said to Eric.

 

[Mookie_Magnus]

Magnus called out Quillz from her pokeball, and she hefted him onto her shoulders. Riding on her back, just in front of her flames as she charged through the line of Rockets. Magnus saw the Pokemon that were responsible for the Barrier on the upper levels. A pair of Mr.Mime were using Barrier, and Quillz focused her attention on them.

"Flamethrower!" Quillz unleashed a river of flame, engulfing the Pokemon in an inferno. Both Mr.Mime fainted. Quillz reared up on her hind legs and pulled Magnus into her arms. She curled up into a ball, and used Flame Wheel to mow through any Grunts or Pokemon in her way. With immense force, Quillz crashed through the barricaded front door of the Tower, and had opened a way in for the other Trainers.

"Alright let's go!" He said running for the front door of the tower. Eric, Lilly, and Jack followed close behind. A Grunt with a scar over his left eye stood in front of them and pointed a machine gun at them. "Not so fast kiddies, Boss says nobody's allowed in." Brandon smiled "Lilly, Psychic." He said as the Gardivoirs eyes glowed blue and the gun was yanked from the grunts hands, the clip dropped and the gun crumpled into a ball of metal. The Grunt ran, his eye wide. "Seems that scar was just for show."

Just so everyone knows... I don't want Team Rocket to be a gun-toting mob. I want the Team Rocket in this to take full advantage of the destructive power of Pokemon. Just a head's up for ya.

 

[Lost In The Void]

Duncan ran up the stairs of the Tower, rifle in hand and Houndour tailing him. They finally hit the fourth floor and saw it guarded by three Grunts and their Pokemon. Two of the Grunts had normal Houdours just like Dunca, but the third had a Kadabra, which was holding two monks hostage with its Master. Duncan motioned for Houdour to stay and she ducked low, growling quietly.

Duncan lined up his first shot, whispering lightly for Houndour to, "Get the Kadabra, use Bite." Houndour prepared to lung, and Duncan focused his sights on the first Houndour, but held off pulling the trigger. He had to catch himself, "Its just like hunting, its just like hunting..." he squeezed the trigger and Houndour lept out of her hiding spot and latched onto the Kadabra. One of the Houdour's heads exploded in a red mist and its trainer focused on Duncan.

Houndour continued to chew on the Kadabra, whose psychic attacks were barely affecting Houndour. Finally the large Pokemon kicked Houndour off of it and the two began to circle each other. Duncan was fending off an attack from one of the remaining Houndours and released Ponyta to help him, "Use Stomp!" he cried and the large Pokemon kicked the smalled one across the room.

`Kadabra, use Psychic on the Ponyta," the Grunt yelled and the Pokemon knocked down the Ponyta with a wave of powerful psychic force. One of the grunts tackled Duncan and pulled out a knife and smiled at him with a crooked grin. Houndour tackled the gruntand began tugging at his throat, ignoring the man's cries. Duncan grabbed the knife and wrestled with the other Houndour, who was trying to Bite him, snapping his jaws. Duncan shoved the knife into the open mouth and twisted bringing a cry from the Pokemon as it ran away from Duncan, and abandoned its Master to Duncan's Houndour, who finally succeeded in tearing out the man's throat.

The Kadabra, already holding down Ponyta, picked up Duncan and threw him across the room with its Psychic powers, its master laughing. The knife was wrenched from Duncan's hand and the Master walked up to Duncan's face, grinning, knife in his hand, "You're gonna die for all that Boy."

Duncan was desperate, "Houndour do something please..." Duncans cries were answered, as the Grunt burst into flames screaming and dropping the knife. The Kadabra, momentary distracted, tried to save its master by attacking the Dark Pokemon with confusion, which Houndour threw off quickly. Ponyta charged the burning Grunt and kicked him through the nearest window. Duncan grabbed his rifle and pointed it at the Kadabra. He quickly fired but the Kadabra stopped the bullet cold and knocked Duncan close to the edge of the broken window. Duncan held onto the edge of the window, as he saw the ground hundreds of feet below him. Ponyta charged the distracted Pokemon and burned it severely with Ember and Stomped on its head, knocking it out cold. Houndour grabbed the cuff of Duncan's jacket and began to pull on it, until Duncan was back inside the Tower, where he held his two Pokemon, petting and praising them heavily. He then grabbed two Potions and healed his Pokemon continuing to call their praises.

 

[Mookie_Magnus]

"Quick, use the Pokemon we stole from those Monks!" One of the squad leaders on the first floor told his subordinates. Several Bellsprout and Weepinbell were summoned from Pokeballs, and began spitting acid at the charging Typhlosion. Magnus, back on her back, released both Eon and Garnet. Eon intercepted the Acid attacks with his Water Gun, while Garnet burned the Grass-Types with her Ember, assisted by her mother's Flamethrower.

On the second floor, Magnus was blocked from the stairs to the next floor by Grunts with a few Wooper and a Quagsire, while the others battled their way to their own floors and on this floor.

"Use Mud Sport!" The floor was suddenly slicked with a heavy mud created by the Wooper.

"Salad, use Vine Whip!" Magnus called forth his Bellsprout, who whipped the Wooper with her strong vines, dealing massive damage because of the type-advantage. "Garnet, use Extrasensory!"

Garnet focused her Psychic energies, and the Quagsire began to float in mid-air.

"Quillz, Swift!" Quillz fired a flurry of star-shaped rays and Salad whipped the Quagsire as well.

On the third floor, dozens of Zubat and a Crobat were flapping about in a darkened room, attacking the Trainers and their Pokemon with their sharp fangs.

"Use Flash, Salad!" Magnus' Bellsprout emitted a flash of brilliant light, blinding the Rockets long enough for him, Duncan and Aoife to get up the stairs.

On the fourth floor, Duncan and Aoife battled several Houndour, and a high-level Kadabra. They told Magnus to continue on to the fifth floor, so he left this for them to handle.

Climbing up the stairs to the fifth, and top floor of the Sprout Tower, Magnus rushed up the stairs to find the hostage Monks being held against their will, their Pokemon having been taken. They were all sitting and meditating, simply to make sure not to aggravate their captors.

Out of the corner of his eye, Magnus saw a slight purple glint, and quickly jumped away. A barrage of Poison Sting stuck into the wooden wall where he was, and would have hit him had he not noticed them.

"Nice moves, kid. But you won't be able-" A member of Team Rocket addressed Magnus, but stopped once Quillz grabbed his Arbok. "What are you doing?!"

Quillz began to pull on the Arbok's head and tail, the Poison-Type's muscles could be heard straining.

"Quillz... Use Strength." Magnus commanded with a sinister voice. Quillz slammed the Arbok against the floor of the Tower, and with her forearms, crushed its head. "Salad, use Wrap."

Salad wrapped her vines around the Rocket, and restrained him, squeezing him harder the more he struggled.

"Where is your commander?" Magnus asked him. "Tell me!"

"In that room, he's got the old man hostage in there." The Rocket sergeant answered. "You won't win, though."

"We'll see about that." Magnus snapped, and Salad tossed the Rocket down the stairs to the fourth floor. Pulling out his knife, Magnus freed the monks from their ropes.

"Get out of here... The Tower isn't safe for you any longer." Magnus told them. "Team Rocket must be gotten rid of before you can return."

"Thank you, young man." One of the monks thanked Magnus. "We will not forget your bravery."

Magnus stood outside the door that led to the room where the commander of this mission was. He took a deep breath, and calmed himself.

I wonder how the others are holding up in their battles? Magnus thought to himself.

"Lilly Psychic, Jack Psycho Cut, Fate Flamethrower!" Brandon said to his Pokemon. Lilly's eyes glowed blue as several Raticates were lifted into the air and slammed through the walls. Jack sent wave after wave of purple energy from his arms causing wide gashes on the rocket's Pokemon. Fate's flamethrower burned a couple Victreebells to ashes. "Eric you holding up okay?"
