Well the rest could most likely be summed up as:replingham153 said:your opinion is amazing, but yet you only talk about the online. What about the other modes?
Haha... I won't bring back any more childhood trauma for you, I'll just say that I thought the jet ski section controlled ok... and that it was FUUUN!Hubilub said:Perhaps they thought the jet-skiing sucked ass, that they didn't want to play a first person racer that didn't control very well, or that they had been emotionally scarred by old Jet-Ski games on the PlayStation 1 when all the other kids laughed at them because they always finished last.
You know... those kind of people... that are totally not me...

I'm a stealth bumping clown! Or not.meganmeave said:I'm finally going to get to play this. It came up on my Gamefly queue. Unfortunately I just picked up RDR, so I don't know if I'll get around to playing it soon.
But I think I'll avoid the multiplayer for now. I don't want to hate the game right away.
[sub]Is this a stealth bump? I think not![/sub]
Yeah, I tend to get a sore throat playing it too... too many 'huuuurgghhhhs' and 'grrrrrr's. Never broke my headset though... I'd cry if my turtle beaches got hurt!YouCallMeNighthawk said:Lol that was a pretty good way of putting it across 10/10.
Better than just a ranting paraghraph.
I've broken 2 headsets playing MW2, and i think my throat might be going lol
Well, my opinion of the other modes is:replingham153 said:your opinion is amazing, but yet you only talk about the online. What about the other modes?
I see it as the "game in between games".e2density said:Yeah, in general MW2 is very unbalanced, and has some very poor game design behind it.
I just consider Modern Warfare 2 "the game for people who don't play games."
When it gets here, should be tomorrow I think, I'll probably start off playing through the campaign to get familiar with the controls. Then maybe I'll take you up on your offer.MiracleOfSound said:I'm a stealth bumping clown! Or not.
If you like, play some private games with me and the guys because they're awesome fun. I honestly can't think of any game that beats MW2 for fun with buddies. And sometimes, with a big group of you online it can be fun too, as you know you can rely on your team-mates not to be douchebags.
The single player game is amazing... well I thought so anyway. Total adrenaline rush from start to finish!
Indeed, Crackdown 2 is going to be awesome... and don't forget, there's also a certain little post-apocalyptic RPG that lands at the end of this summer that may take up a few hours...meganmeave said:When it gets here, should be tomorrow I think, I'll probably start off playing through the campaign to get familiar with the controls. If I like this, it's going to mean I have a whole bunch of new games to play, since I haven't played any of the COD type games up to this point.
This is the first summer I have had so many games to play. It's pretty awesome. I hope the developers keep this release schedule next year. Between RDR, Alan Wake, and Crackdown 2 my summer is already pretty packed.
Hmmmm.... I wonder what that could be?MiracleOfSound said:Indeed, Crackdown 2 is going to be awesome... and don't forget, there's also a certain little post-apocalyptic RPG that lands at the end of this summer that may take up a few hours...
Really? I loved the single player.Lordpils said:Combine all that with the absurdity of the single player and honestly there's really no reason to play this game. The only reason I still play this game is because my friends play it and I can't party chat with them while they're playing it thus making this game not only stupid on many levels, but also highly irritating.
Me too, unfortunately my 'staying calm' skill is a bit lacking and I usually get frustrated which ends up with me charging in like a lunatic and dying.Miumaru said:I make it a habit to take out campers. As long as I remain calm, I can usually get them.
Welcome to the Escapist, may you enjoy your stay!DazGoods said:I lol'ed at the lag part.
"I swear to f***ing god i shot him. WTF is with this lag ffs!"
Being over the top isn't a problem if the game doesn't take itself seriously (to be fair I'm not sure that Modern Warfare 2 did), I just didn't really like it that much because of the MANY plot holes and generally bad story telling. I will give credit to the voice acting where it's due Keith David was awesome as always.MiracleOfSound said:Really? A lot of people hated it though, I think the fact that it was so OTT and silly annoyed them. But hell, we're gamers, aren't we meant to enjoy OTT stuff??
I have had to warn the missus that when New Vegas comes out, she will have to put up with me being a bleary eyed, anti-social hermetic uber-nerd for 3-4 weeks. As I'm sure your signifigant other will also have to deal with!meganmeave said:[
It's quite possible I may turn into an albino during that time. I may even have to change my voice mail message to "Can't talk. New Vegas."

Yes, he will need a game to occupy him while I go into a Fallout stupor. I'll have to look at the release schedule to see if there is a suitable game for him to play.MiracleOfSound said:I have had to warn the missus that when New Vegas comes out, she will have to put up with me being a bleary eyed, anti-social hermetic uber-nerd for 3-4 weeks. She was around for fallout 3 so she is well prepared, but still... I get pretty extreme when I go on a Fallout buzz!
*some* of the SP campaign isn't bad, but I see your point.Lordpils said:Combine all that with the absurdity of the single player and honestly there's really no reason to play this game. The problem with excessive camping is that it slows the game's pace and robs it of its fluidity. Would you honestly rather play a match full of snipers camping in buildings, or an action packed frantic killfest on a small map?dragonslayer32 said:i dont see why people are against camping. it is a legitimate gaming technique. what do you want people to do with a sniper rifle? if you are in a good spot getting loads of kills, why move? face it, we have all done it, some more than others and why not if you are good at it.
The problem with the noob tube is the way people abuse it with Danger Close and One Man Army, giving them an endless suplly of grenades which is completely overpowered and ruins the balance of the game.dragonslayer32 said:it also annoys me when people complain about noob-tubes. it is a weapon choice in the game so why would they put it in if people were not supposed to use them? this is why i do not play that game, because of people complaining about these things. to complete weapon challanges, you have to use the noob-tube and when you do, people get angry. it sickens me, that game had potential.
How so? Lag? Weapon balance?Herklethehoboking said:gears of war 2 made me angrier
Let him borrow your Mass Effect 2 maybe? If you can bring yourself to part with it! Another reason I can't wait for New Vegas is that it'll stop me gravitating back to bloody MW2meganmeave said:Yes, he will need a game to occupy him while I go into a Fallout stupor. Good post. Ths clearly shows why the game is so frustrating. It had so much potential and does so much right, yet is ruined by 5 or 6 huge gaping flaws that would easily fixed with a patch, yet instead they keep pumping out more map packs to rake in the cash.Yagharek said:Yes, it is a choice availible in the game. However, that just means that the game isn't well balanced. The noob-tube is very strong, and very easy to use, which makes it overpowered, so people are annoyed when they are killed by it.
Modern Warfare Two deliberately caters to casual gamers, to sell as many games as possible, in my opinion. Perks, weapons, and the strength of the killstreaks in the game mean that it is quite easy for players who aren't very good to do well. Pepole use the unbalanced set ups are widespread, because it gives them an advantage, and allows them to do better. SNIP.
